I have known spike in Missy for many years, and most recently have met Todd Semder, As well as Dr. Mike Evans from Sissonville West Virginia. The Warnicks, just keep getting better and better, when you're the best, I don't know how you can get any better, but they keep finding many ways to make that happen, what and incredible staff they have at all locations, I'm originally from Saint Albans, and I am very partial to that location, however, I have visited all locations and they all are great people. Melody at St Albans is one of the best I've ever seen in my life, she is so warm and pleasant and always very friendly and helpful. If I walk into the St Albans location, and I do not get to see Melody I've had a bad day. The dental hygienist, Brandy at Saint Albans is just a wonderful person, I always look forward to her checking and cleaning my teeth. So I went to get my sons retainer checked because it was not fitting properly, the dr came in and…read moresaid it was fitting fine. That the only reason that it wouldn't be fitting is because of him not wearing it at night. This made me furious because this kid absolutely panics if he forgets to wear his retainer even one night. He is so good at taking care of his teeth. Than I reminded her that when the retainer was made he was missing 2 teeth and now they are completely grown in. She still insisted it was fine. Than after reading notes in the computer she realized that the notes from last visit said his new teeth were growing in and that he would be needing a new retainer next visit. She than looked at his retainer for a Third time and was like " oh yeah, this isn't fitting properly because of ur new teeth!" I was completely baffled as I worked as a dental assistant for years at an orthodontist office and I worked with good drs, but took my son here because we had moved and this was close by at the time. Please note this is not the first time we have had issues with this place but this was the final straw. We will be driving the extra miles from now on to get better care.

I took a long time to marinade and have a basis for comparison before writing this review. I was a…read morepatient of Dr. Holmes for Invisalign. Positives: Dr. Holmes and his staff are incredibly friendly and personable, and the office is very efficiently run. It was very rare to be waiting after your appointment time. Dr. Holmes seems to be on the cutting edge of treatments, and a perfectionist, which can be very good in the profession. Negatives: The characteristics just mentioned didn't work well with me. Even though he was very nice I felt like he was doing what he wanted with my treatment regardless off my feelings. Examples: He put the extra ridges on the Invisalign (for when treatment gets advanced and it's hard to keep the Invisilign on and you might need to put "glue" tabs on your teeth that the Invisilign goes over) on the two teeth next to my front ones - making them VERY visible! The purpose of Invisilign is to barely see it! Others I knew with Invisilign had these on their back or side teeth. When I asked about it Dr. Holmes said it was best for the treatment- that very well may be, but not best for me. I'm in in my 30s not a middle schooler, and my job is outside sales. Then he wanted to treat my gums with a procedure involving putting bolts in my gums and using rubber bands which he was very excited about so I agreed. He assured me the rubber bands and bolts wouldn't be visible. NOPE. The bolts weren't but the bands were on my front teeth - again I'm not a middle schooler. When these things happened and I'd express my anxiety/unwillingness it's like he and the staff became motivational speakers - "oh you can barely see them", "It'll be so good for you". Thanks all, but I DON'T WANT THIS. Treatment became so long and tedious with all these "extras" that I threw in the towel a little over a year in - when he initially said I'd be done in a year! Yes my top teeth, gums and bite looked great. But my bottom teeth went back to crooked and I had to re-do treatment a couple years later. Not saying this wasn't partially my fault for discontinuing treatment early, but "early" was more than the time I was told I'd be in treatment total. I will note that he did a laser procedure on my gums that looked fabulous! But again I felt this could've been done without months of bolts and rubber bands. Maybe not but I feel I wasn't educated properly on my options and he wanted to "try out" the bolt/band procedure to see it's results beforehand causing me more social discomfort than necessary. Overall I think Dr. Holmes is very talented in his profession. I also think he meant well and runs a great business. My experience just wasn't what I wanted/needed and for 3k+ I feel it should've been.

Myself and two of my family members have had problems with dental work he has done on us. My husband had a filling done and two day later it fell out. Dr. Kennedy redone the filling and two days later it fell out again!! The new dentist he went to told him there was decay under the filling that had not been removed. He had to pay for the third filling out of pocket. That is just one example of the issues we have had.

Recently I had to have an upper molar which connects to your sinuses, surgically removed. Although…read morelocal was injected at the site and I did not feel pain there, I felt much pain from my lower jaw muscles and other adjacent teeth being pried against to remove the tooth. The drilling into the jaw bone created pain and a severe headache. I had to even make them stop to take a break because my respirations and heart rate had increased so much I was dizzy. It took 2.5 hours of drilling, prying and pulling to remove the cracked tooth. The tooth had fused to my maxilla bone because a root canal had been performed on it some years before. I begged for Nitrous Oxide gas or to be given even a Valium to relax and/or aid in the pain relief, but was refused. It is documented N.O gas does aid in pain relief along with providing relaxation. I was told Tylenol should take care of any pain after the surgery. Trauma to the bone creates more pain than any other pain. I was told by the receptionist that the insurance my employer switched to was fighting their office of scheduled fees. That is not my fault. I paid over half of the bill at the conclusion of that torture because of how little the receptionist stated they would receive from the insurance company. I am an Operating Room Registered Nurse, and would NEVER have permitted a surgeon to treat one of our patients so inhumanely. The headache lasted several days afterwards, along with severe pain mainly from my lower jaw of being pried against with significant force for so long. I could not speak, or eat for nearly 3 days afterwards. If you need a tooth extraction, find another oral surgeon.
