Normally I go in with my father-in-law and we order together, and take our food to go, since we order for us and our wives. Today was probably the fifth or sixth time we've ordered Döner from Paşa. Every time thus far, the food has been fresh and tasty!
Today, I went in alone and in the best "German" I could muster, I ordered our four "Döners." For my in-laws, I ordered two Döner Tellers (Plates),; for my wife, a regular Döner; and for myself; a "Big Döner." We usually only eat Döner once during our two week long trip to visit family in Germany, so I usually end up getting the Big one! No apologies!!
Anyhoo, the gentleman who prepared our food today was very friendly and accommodating. He was extremely patient and I tried diligently to get the order correct. And, since each of our Döner orders were ordered somewhat uniquely, I was most grateful for his indulgences.
For those familiar with Turkish Döner Kebap, certainly one might expect the traditional beef and lamb mixture of meat from the spit, but as some likely have already discovered, nowadays most Döner is made using chicken instead. I don't know if that is because of cost issues or if it cooks better, or perhaps it is preferred by Turkish people who eat Döner. But, in any regard, now one must expect that the meat option is only chicken. And, even though I do actually prefer the beef and lamb, I'm okay with the chicken, because all things considered, it still makes for a very tasty sandwich!
We've not tried anything else from Paşa Döner & Kebap Haus's menu, but given the freshness of our food every time we've ordered it, the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the demeanor of those working at this establishment, I would have zero reservation ordering anything from the menu, with the expectation of likewise excellent quality!
So, if you're in Pfungstadt and getting hungry... especially if you're hungry for a Döner, please give Paşa a try! You'll be glad you for it!
Eat well. Be well. Cheers!
