His calm demeanour reassures even during the most stressful of moments and his deep care for his patients is evident with every interaction. He has gone above and beyond for me more times than I can count, keeping on top of my progress during recovery periods, monitoring my therapy and adherence to prescribed activity. The reason I am taking the time to write this is because of the nature of the negative reviews. The staff are perfectly pleasant enough, they are not over chatty and they are not dismissive. They are doing a great job, they aren't your friends they are managers of the doctors schedules and resources. Dr.Beattie is ALWAYS prompt in receiving me, I cannot believe how efficiently he runs. He knows exactly how much time we have and what we can get done, he doesn't leave you hanging if more needs to be done he suggests another appointment to thoroughly address your concerns. He is very direct, polite and realistic. For knowledgeably I give him a 10/10 because he doesn't pretend to know everything about everything. If he doesn't know the answer, he will look it up. If the condition needs a specialist, he will refer you. If you don't need a test you googled, he will explain why but run what needs to be run to assure you of his recommendation. Your doctor is not your friend, not your pal, not your savior and definitely not your yes man. The same way you expect them to be professional and helpful, you need to be reasonable and level headed.

He didn't help me when I first became depressed, he didn't help when I had my first sti when I was sexually assaulted. I had to wait minimum 2 weeks to have a scheduled appointment, and I had to travel over 2 hours to get to the office, and I still had to wait at least an hour after my appointment was scheduled to see Dr. Lefkowitz. Even if I was willing to pay he wouldn't fax my prescription to my pharmacist, he never asked me if I was sexually active. The final straw for me, and the rest of my family, was when I came to Dr. Lefkowitz's to change my anti depressant meds. After I waited my standard hour for him to see me a pharma rep came into the office. The moment he came in Dr. Lefkowitz sent him to wait in on if the offices. He then called my name, and since the pharma representative got the last available office, I had my new medication prescribed in the hallway! After that I never went back.

Well, if I know everything, why do I need a doctor? If I have medical questions, isn't he the one I should ask? He made me think that I should not question things. His attitude made me very sick. I don't think this is the right attitude a practitioner should have. After each appointment, I always felt quite bad, stupid about myself and angry. Secondly, my family friend is a MD as well in Ontario. One time I showed him the prescription Dr. Lai prescribed. The family friend check up my body, see my prescription history (Shopper Drug Mart has detailed prescription history) and questioned why Dr. Lai often prescribed me such strong medication. Also, Dr. Lai likes to use newly-developed drug. I don't think there is anything wrong to try it, but he used too often on me and I am still young!! Just to let you readers know that the lighter drug prescirbed by another doctor now works fine for me. It's better to play safe, don't you think? Well yes Dr. Lai is quick and knowledgeable. This is what a MD should be. I just wish Dr. Lai luck. I am no longer his patient. Though I need to wait long for appointments at my current MD's, I feel a lot better and definitely feel safer. The clinic has become focused on cosmetics and other fee for service offerings. If you're looking for a family doctor try somewhere else.

I've been coming here with my family since I was a kid and Dr. Liu always takes the time to figure out what your ailments are and if you need to seek a specialist. He never prescribes more than you need and its very honest in that sense. He'll let you know what the latest research says about the medication you may be considering and to me, that means a doctor who is well informed and wants the best for his patients. There's usually quite a wait time so I usually get here right at opening if I need to see Dr. Liu.

extremely rude and impatient doctor!! does not listen to your needs and just talks over you and…read morebasically tells you you're wasting his time. i've been seeing this doctor since i was a kid and hes just getting more rude over the years and makes me feel stupid with anything i'm asking for. i needed a referral for a specialist test and asked him for it. i waited 3 weeks and he still did not provide the referral. when i followed up, he told me "the forms are very difficult to fill out" and that i need to know that doctors do not know everything. also emphasized that the referral i'm asking for is not his specialty so he does not know what to write. well then who else can i ask for this referral then!?? i asked when i can expect the referral paper because its urgent and i need to get tested ASAP, he tells me "well yea, everyone's issue is urgent".. i asked if theres a timeline i can expect the papers and he goes "no" and rushes me off the phone!! i've also gone to him before as i suspect i have arthritis in my finger joints and told him about it but he goes.. "ok so what do u want me to do??" i've also been asking him for body checks for yearsssss but every time he tells me im "too young" so there's no need for one. he would also challenge what i even want to check. welll what do people check for body checks?? general health! duh! what i need tested is really time sensitive yet he shows ZERO compassion and makes it clear that i'm actually bothering him with this.
