if something happens or someone steals your items they don't check cameras and they are no help when it comes to theft

Staff are so kind. Would like more for seniors that can't be physically active and more weekly communication such as a newsletter of happenings for seniors whether via mail or online....but not all seniors are online. More off campus trips would be enjoyable also, but not spendy as seniors are living on limited budgets. read more

I would strongly recommend not patronizing this business. I signed up for a gym membership on February 24th. On their sign up contract you are given the option to be charged one of two days, this is with the goal of misleading you. If you sign up on February 28th, you will be charged for the entire month of February as well as the month of March, no matter what day you pick to be charged. You are not paying for the time between payments, like the contract leads a logical person to conclude. My second complaint comes with the COVID-19 outbreak. Because I assumed that I was paying for Feb, 20-Mar 20and not for these separate months I was surprised to see a charge on my account from the Y on March 20th. I called then to ask why I was charged even though the governor shut down all gyms during the stay at home order on March 16, and durning that call there was no mention of being charged for individual months, but instead a half assed excuse saying that the Y was still offering "digital services" which is a thinly veiled ploy to continually charge people when they offer no tangible services. I then requested that they close my account because I was not interested in their, "digital services". Instead, who I thought was a helpful employee at the time recommended that I put my account on hold and I won't be charged until I wanted to reopen it. I just recently learned that they were charging me for these months during the epidemic, and if I hadn't been looking through my bank account they would continue to charge me. Today I had the pleasure of talking to an employee who obviously had much better things to do than discussing refunding the money they screwed me out of. The facility is fine but nothing special, but these business practices have permanently deterred me from the the Willmar YMCA. If there were a 0 star rating that's what I'd pick. read more

Positives: It's slightly bigger and slightly nicer than your typical YMCA. Has a water slide and a lap pool, plus a full-sized gym that can be split to accommodate dual activities. Nice little rec room with foosball, etc. They offer a variety of classes and fitness contests and have competent physical trainers at reasonable prices. Negatives: Treadmills/work-out area is often overcrowded during peak hours. No hot-tub, sauna, tanning or spa, which is disappointing. Lock your stuff up in the locker room or risk losing it to 12-year-old thieves. All in all a pretty decent place and your best option for full service gym facilities in the county. read more

For such a nice facility they really need to update their machines. This is not 1985.
