This place is great and the Doctors are great. I've been going here for several years now. I suffered a TBI and consequently have non-cataplexy narcolepsy with underlying hyper insomnia. I have an appointment tomorrow. I was looking up the address and then I was surprised when I saw the reviews on here and that's why I'm leaving mine. Dr. Maddukuri, is the provider I see and she's a flippin beast at what she does! Even when super busy, she gives adequate time to learn, listen and talk with each individual. I read the other review that talked about her, and no offense, but that says more about the patient than Dr. M. She's not a babysitter and she's not a psychiatrist for a Counsling session; I'm just saying. She's a 10/10 and the whole Staff is a 10/10. read more

I was charged $47 before my visit so Dr could review my sleep study ahead of time. Arrived and Dr had not reviewed anything and asked me to pull it up, so she could review it with me. I then paid $210 for my visit and was told that I had paid in full. 3 months later I get a call saying that I had an amount past due and that it was being sent to collection. They never emailed or sent me any invoices, and that was confirmed by the billing department when I just called to settle up. They said it was an error on their end, but still charged me the additional $7, even though they couldn't explain what the $7 was for. Unreal, and who knows how often they do this to their other patients! read more

They're just copay collectors and RX pushers. I started seeing Dr. Arif 3 years ago and at first he seemed great. Then he started dragging his feet, claiming not to have received documents from previous providers and needing to wait another 6 months for another appointment just to tell me the same thing. He has never actually accomplished (or for that matter given much effort) anything in my care and typically spends 3-4 minutes with me during appointments. His tone is condescending, arrogant and just flat out everything you don't want in a neurologist. If you dare to ask for further clarification on something and take more than 4 minutes of your scheduled 15 minute appointment, you get even deeper condescension and pushback. Never collaboration or compassion. Kane Hall Berry is well aware of this and appear to encourage it through their entire structure. It's DFW, there are TONS of neurology practices. Dont go to the Bedford location!! They lied about me not showing up for my appt and said that I cancelled last minute...neither of which is true. I have struggled to have a fee removed and get sleep study results. I have called 2 time for results each time they say they will upload them to the portal and each time they DO NOT DO IT! They extort money out of patients for being late 2 minutes. Yep thats right and lie saying I was a no show or a lat cancelation. I have proof that I was there but so far with 2 attempts to explain have yielded no removal of the fee. The front office young girl took almost 10 minutes before she contacted the 'back office' so it appeared that I was really late. Then my second appt came and got me and I was done with that one before my first appt was to be over. The young women at the window said to me after I protested the supposed no show fee that "I should be happy that they did not charge me the whole amount of $75". These fees should only be charged if someone has a past record of no shows/late cancellations. It is sheer EXTORTION!! Are you freaking kidding me?? Sooo unprofessional and unnecessary to speak to me this way. It appears that it is personal. We will see how this turns out. I dont want anyone to have this stress so find yourself another Neurologist. read more

I really hate switching neurologists, but the billing department is atrocious. I spent all day trying to sort out my insurance information with them and my insurance company called them twice to work through it. They were unwilling to cooperate and I am not going to go through that every time I have a visit. 100% don't recommend unless you self-pay. read more

I had yet another extremely disappointing and distressing experience with Dr. Nirav C. Shah, MD. From the moment I entered the office, Dr. Shah treated me with rudeness and disrespect. Despite his knowledge of my symptoms and medical history, which included having undergone ACDF surgery and the nerve/muscle testing (which was normal) he refuses to consider any diagnosis other than a nerve issue without considering any other possibilities. During the appointment I began crying as I tried to explain the ongoing pain and discomfort I was still experiencing. Instead of showing empathy or understanding, Dr. Shah continued to speak to me in a patronizing manner, dismissing my concerns and talking down to me as if I were a child. Despite my clear and persistent complaints about tension headaches, Dr. Shah outright refused to provide any treatment or even acknowledge this legitimate issue. It was abundantly clear that he was more interested in asserting his own opinions than listening to my lived experiences and addressing my health needs. The emotional toll of this encounter was profound. I left Kane, Hall, Barry feeling utterly disregarded and humiliated. The misdiagnosis and lack of compassion shown by Dr. Shah exacerbated my stress and anxiety unnecessarily.He requested that I provide updates on my progress with the prescribed medications through the portal over the upcoming weeks. I followed his instructions and sent a message as requested after the first week. His response IN ALL CAPS was basically calling me an idiot, accusing me of being incompetent and not following directions, when in reality, I had been diligently adhering to his instructions. I strongly caution anyone seeking compassionate and competent medical care to avoid Dr. Shah. His unprofessional behavior, lack of empathy, and dismissiveness toward patient concerns are simply unacceptable in any healthcare setting. And according to all of the negative reviews I have read, I am not the only one who feels this way! read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Maddakuri for almost 10 years. I like Dr. Maddakuri. She's usually kind and patient, caring and professional. But this last visit and my interface with her office has left me hurting and without hope. I had seen Dr. Maddakuri for my upper neck in the past (no one called me in 2023 for my annual review, however). When I experienced debilitating back pain, I returned to her, and she ordered an MRI. So far, so good. In the past, for my neck pain, I had my own pain management doctor in Dallas at the Carrell Clinic. Both times, I had great care and started feeling better immediately. But my doctor there is now semi-retired and specializes in the upper back. My new problem is with my lower back. I was somewhat surprised when Dr. Maddakuri asked me if I had my own pain management doctor. I soon learned why: her back office "bungled" sending out my MRI report, didn't know the place she referred me to had changed their name and fax number, and the new place didn't answer their phone. In desperate pain, barely able to walk, I begged Dr. Maddakuri's back office to try a place the doctor used regularly in Bedford, and I was told the other place wouldn't even say how soon they could see me until they knew what the doctor expected them to do. This made no sense to me, since they needed to evaluate my MRI results for pain management. Kane, Berry, Hall has "sold out" to a corporate owner, Athena, and toward the end of the second week of my trying to get in contact with their medical team, they were no longer answering their phones. When I finally got through to them the next week, one of the medical assistants kept making excuses for all the "slipups," and she even told me that if I was that "bad off," I should have gone to an emergency room. I told her I had considered this, but I knew not every hospital had the staff and/or equipment to give me the epidural I needed for my lower spine. She agreed with me, but still had no answers. In my desperation, I turned to a friend who had been in the medical field for 40 years, and she referred me to another doctor who went over my MRI, explained my problem, and set out a plan for pain management for me. This last experience was so frustrating and hurtful, I doubt I will be returning to Doctor Maddakuri, due to the office staff. It's a pity. read more

just now NEW if you are looking for doctors that care, are compassionate, and most of all professional, keep searching and don't stop here! I started seeing Dr Ansari for some issues I was having. At first he was nice but not personable but I kept going. Yesterday, I went to see him because my ENT surgeon wanted to make sure that my neurologist thought it was ok for me to have sinus surgery because I was having severe pain in my head. My husband had always been the one to take me but this time my mom Had to bring me. Dr Ansari walked in the room with an attitude and an energy that seemed down right mean, and it was! He started yelling at me as I was sitting there crying when he walked in. He yelled at me so loud that I was told by another patient in the waiting room as I left, they were so sorry I just experienced that. My mother said that he scared her. As he yelled at me that he couldn't help me and that I needed to go to the ER if I thought I had a problem where there were neurologist because he couldn't help me. Isn't he a neurologist? Did I ask for help? No, I was sent by a specialist to be evaluated for sinus surgery. Now, he made it very clear he didn't believe there was anything neurological going on and he couldn't help me but oh, he wanted me to pay $60 to come back in two weeks to see his PA? For what? You can't help me but you want me to pay to visit with someone I don't even know for no reason, because remember, you can't help me. The entire office heard you scream that! Hell to the no! I have a scoliosis surgeon, I have a pain management specialist, I have a rheumatologist, I have a dermatologist working on issues caused by something going on with me related, I have a family doctor who actually referred by to this business, and I will be sharing with her what took place and how she shouldn't refer patients there anymore, I have a gastrointestinal specialist, and a cardiologist. None of those specialist have ever treated me like this. They are all compassionate and realize I'm going through several things that are debilitating and have taken my independence and life away from me. They may give me the facts and hard truth, but they do it professionally, as they should, and with compassion. I'm sure all of them, when they hear this story will be shocked and feel the compassion for me as they all know I didn't deserve that. No one should ever go and pay a doctor to help you and then be yelled at so loudly for no reason, that it actually brought the trauma back I went through as a person that was in an abusive marriage. I cried the 45 minutes home while mom & I sat in silence. When we finally got home & she calmed me down, she told me he scared her so bad she was speechless and if he were her doctor she would never go back. She said, "He was an ass!!!" It was the validation I needed to hear that I was not just feeling sensitive as my mom is one strong lady that doesn't allow that behavior around herself or her children regardless if Im 59 years old. I had to take anxiety medicine to calm down and do mediation and some music therapy. I am now going to have to go to my therapist again because of the PTSD I suffer from with people yelling at me. I have boundaries and this doctor crossed them x 100. PS. I never got the answer my ENT surgeon needed. He will not be happy as he had already sent over a request for the notes that have nothing about what he needed & sent me there for. He had wanted to call and discuss something with Dr Ansari, but I'm going to tell him what happened and that I won't be going back. Again, if you are looking for doctors that care, are compassionate, and most of all professional, keep searching and don't stop here! read more

This office has the least regard for patient needs that I have ever seen. I have been going here for a year for a seizure disorder. I was already diagnosed and stabilized and just needed refills. Every time I needed a refill they managed to mess it up by calling in the wrong dosage, not calling it in until I called them at least twice, and the last time leaving me without meds for 3 days. I think I'll find others.... I haven't seen the doctor yet, but I can tell you that the front desk and the phone support is terrible. If you c all anytime after 3:00, expect to wait at least 40 minutes and if you call after 4:00 there's a good chance you'll be on hold long enough until the lines close down at 5:00. Anytime I talk to somebody and tell them about this the 4 words that you hear all the time " I'm sorry for that" is a broken record. This was one of the most awkward appointments today. I can't sleep and dr maddicurri literally just said to go back to my regular doctor.i said this is a waste of time and she agreed and didn't charge me. I struggle to sleep and she gave me 2 appointments and just kicked me to the curb. I don't want to hurt anyone else but that was absolutely crap. I was in my room for 40 minutes and she dumped me. My appointment was with Dr. Nirav Shah. He seemed nice enough but it seemed he had his mind made up before he knew all my symptoms. I knew if my cognitive score was below 20 then I might have the beginnings of Dementia but all my symptoms together pointed more to MS or something along those lines. He seemed surprised I scored higher on the test. I never told him all of my symptoms mostly because I couldn't get them out. When I did have a chance to say something, I was too frustrated and couldn't even remember what they were. (Next time I will write down my symptoms.) Of the two symptoms, I did tell him about, he completely ignored my hands would paralyze for periods of time. He insisted it was muscle weakness. I know when my hands are frozen vs being weak. For seeing double, he referred me to an ophthalmologist. It was definitely a good thing I saw the ophthalmologist. However, I won't be returning to Dr. Shah for a misdiagnosis and wasted time/money. He wasn't willing to listen and I wasn't strong enough to make him listen. Scheduling this appointment was very frustrating as well. It took them a week to schedule my appointment AFTER receiving my scan results. It's as if they think they are the only show in town. read more

This office is one of the most professional and friendly offices I have ever called on that truly cares about the patients and goes to great lengths to get insurance coverage of procedures and products and/or find options that best fit the patients' needs. read more

Horrible!!! I would definitely give him zero stars if yelp let me! I went with my mother to see dr. Kane because she had a disc protrusion in her neck so she had neck and arm pain/ tingling and could barely use her right arm and part of her hand and was referred to him by her doctor. He had terrible bedside manner! When he came into the room I certainly did not think he was the doctor. His hair looked unwashed and unkept, the bottom button of his button-up shirt was unbuttoned so I could see part of his protruding belly, and when he sat down on the stool to look at my mothers intake form I could see his plumbers crack. (I know his appearance shouldn't reflect on his ability to treat a patient, but wouldn't you want a doctor that looks well put together and organized?) After one of the assistants did a neuro test on her had printed the results, she left to get the paper from the printer and he walked in already looking down at the History forms and took a seat without saying a word. My mother and I were confused at who this man was since he did not bother to introduce himself. He then turned around on the stool and finally introduced himself and in mid-sentence he saw that I had MRIs in my hand (note that his office should've already had the MRIs, but I brought them just in case.. And good thing I did!) . He only looked at the MRIs for a second or two then moved on to the sheet that explained the MRI (written by the radiologist). He then proceeded to "explain" what my mothers problem was by reading WORD FOR WORD what was written on that sheet of paper... I can read!! He then did a half ass exam on my mother (I know this because I am in school for a career in the health profession). As he was asking her questions she would start to answer but before she could finish her sentence he would interrupt her and ask her another question... This happened 5 or 6 times during the 10 minute (if that) exam. He concluded that she would need neck surgery to fix her problem. She asked him if there was anything else she could do instead of surgery, like chiropractic care, and he said definitely not, chiropractors would make it worse. Then he prescribed her 4 medications that she needed to take at different times throughout the day and told her that she would be drowsy but still told her to go to work like normal even though she could barely use her right arm ( which is her dominant arm)... Does that sound reasonable?? As he finished the appointment, my mother paid for this appointment in full with cash. A month later there was a bill for the appointment saying that she still owed money. She called and argued with them and finally talked to someone that said ok, but then two months later she received another bill. It's been half a year and she is still getting bills stating that she owes them money. Also, he wouldn't let my mother keep the printout of the neurology test that his assistant performed on her. Even though Kane wanted to see her again two weeks after that initial appointment,I refused to take her back to him, instead I took her to a chiropractor and now she doesn't have pain anymore. Moral of the story: NEVER GO TO DR.KANE!!! Find another neurologist if possible!!! read more

I took my grandma here to test her for Alzheimer's, and had a horrible experience. Dr. Barry scared her with his bedside manner.... Blunt, loud, in her face..... It was super weird for me, but terrifying for her. She left there crying saying "please don't take me back to this place!" Since then we found a FABULOUS neuro doc -- Dr Hurlbut. I spent 18 months going to see various doctors in this group. I was having twitching and jerking throughout the day. I could not sleep at night due to the muscle spasms and the twitching and the jerking. I took a video of myself at night and it showed that I was twitching and jerking and I would wake up and have blood in my mouth because I had bit my tongue. The doctor was uninterested in seeing my video. She basically told me to go see a psychiatrist. For 18 long months they just passed me from one doctor to the next. I missed months of work. I was counseled various times at my workplace for different things. My symptoms were causing a lot of issues at my job. I did not go to see a psychiatrist, I went to see a new neurologist. My daughter and I sat down with my new doctor and discussed my symptoms. He agreed with me, that I was having myoclonic seizures. I was put on medication and after a few weeks I felt like my old self. I am back at work full-time feeling like a million dollars. I cannot believe that three physicians in this group could not diagnose me with myoclonic seizure disorder in an 18 month period. read more

He has been very professional, I've no problems with the way he is dressed, and he has worked with me to find a medicine that I can take and not have reactions to. I've been to this practice three times so far, and have found them to be very patient and very understanding, extremely helpful and just NICE. As a deaf person, I don't need a lot from people who hear. I just happen to need that they face me when they're talking to me, and I can nearly always make out what they are saying to me. If I'm not looking, I can still very often guess what they're saying if they'll just speak clearly to me and not mumble at me. They are SUPER in their accommodation of my simple needs, and you might be surprised how many people seem to find this just too difficult to manage. It's often VERY frustrating going anyplace to have to deal with anything, and these people at Kane Hall Barry are the exact opposite of frustrating. They are a DELIGHT to visit and to work with. I am confident that we will get to the bottom of my particular issue and SOLVE IT, and this Group is what gives me that confidence. I'd like to tell them: THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I went to the HEB ER with stroke symptoms. Dr. Kane came and saw me. He did nothing and acted like I was not having a stroke. My wife was in the room and agreed. Now normally, she thinks I'm crazy and does not agree with me. Well, I had a stroke, then was admitted. The next day he stopped in and still did not realize I had a stroke. He told me his office would call after I'm released to set an office appointment for my "symptoms." Office calls and wants to set up an appointment for numbness & dizziness. REALLY! It was a stroke, not a TIA, not symptomatic...a stroke. He billed 300.00, separate form the Hospital bill, for the 2 minute ER conversation and 100.00 to tell me on the second day his office would be calling me. His office told me the 100.00 is for a physical exam in my room. He did not perform a physical exam. Called his office to discuss the bill and they stated they can do nothing. Stopped in the office to discuss and of course that person is in another office. Don't see how that is possible when they called me from the Bedford phone number. Very unprofessional across the board. I would rank this as insurance fraud and extreme lack of concern except for $$$. Do not put your life in this office's care. read more
