I am 64 and had a fire lit under me this year after a classmates wife passed unexpectedly on…read morevacation. my mom & dad used this service to establish a trust and i did the same. i would highly recommend attending a seminar as things are clearly spelled out and much of the info was extremely eye opening to me. it led me to definitely follow thru & make the appt. Cost is a little steep but i really believed it was not only the right thing to do but it was time to put things in place. i also believe you get what you pay for, and knowing that my kids will not get tied up in probate or have very little logistically to think about gave me great piece of mind. they worked with me financially after an initial down payment and i make monthly payments. extremely knowledgable attorneys and similarly excellent staff that treats you with kid gloves. SF is a paralegal with great people skills & knowledge, she walked us through what couldve been hours upon hours of paperwork in a reasonable smount of time. if your head is spinning afterwards ( because lets be honest soending time going through your demise can be a little daunting ) you can always stop @ Maxx Fish ( best happy hours EVER ) or J gilberts afterwards. Tara follows up with EVERYTHING. you wont be left waiting for 3 days for a return phone call. Really glad that i went with this firm & know i made the right decision, and definitely worth the money. go get yourself to a seminar & educate yourself. it costs nothing to attend & be enlightened.

Save you're money and go to a different firm with Attorneys that don't give you the heebie-jeebies…read more There's several in the area. Staff constantly looked over worked and spread thin. Firm participates in the practice of cold calling as means to advertise seminars and actively continues to mail and call after removal was requested. These seminars are the same every time, from the Attorneys 'jokes', questions and everything else that was said. Once you get into the office you see how the Attorney running the seminar talks to and treats his staff, and everything is a sales pitch once his office door closes. I'd say maybe it's time to lay this business of death to rest.

Deborah, You are so mixed up with your facts, I'm not sure…read moreif it is your strategy to be confusing on purpose, but your facts and timeline are quite wrong. When I first met with you in July, I could not have been more clear!  I gave you the monthly amounts my mother was receiving from the German Government over the last 25 years.  I also was crystal clear that my mother had no other income or assets.  Once again I will tell you that your advice to spend down her assets by 7-31 was reckless and clearly wrong.  After much frustration on how you were handling this case, I contacted the social worker at the state.  Suffice to say, our conversation was very informative.  My mother's case was never in danger of being denied....however the state had a simple question of the funds my mother had. This was not complicated, regardless of your attempt to write scripture of commingling issues of money segregation in my mother's accounts.  There was one account....the only money she had was reparation as well as her monthly social security check.  The explanation was that simple, and that is all the state required.  You had quite the nerve saying that "you recall that my mother was unable to be of any assistance to your efforts"...clearly your recall is poor at best, you had all the information you needed when we first met in July my mother's assistance was not needed.  You knew that my mother was in a long term nursing facility at Seabury....your statement was cruel...what is wrong with you? Once again you were quite wrong in stating there was a risk in the state denying the claim.  I know this for a fact because I contacted the case worker directly.  Suffice to say the information I received was illuminating.  Also, when I told her that Seabury was asking about my mother's account, she offered to contact them on my behalf.  When I told you Seabury was asking me about my mother's account you told me "dance around their inquiries" Deborah, there are so many sad parts of this case; from embarrassing a trusted colleague who recommended you, your hazy recollection of facts, giving me wrong and reckless advise to pay down her assets, stringing me along because you were in between clerks, as well as denying that you suggested that I purchase a television for myself using my mother's money, (maybe that is just Elder Care Law humor), but I was appalled by your suggestion.  This should have been an amazing case and learning experience for you, as well as a privilege to work for my mother, and learn something about her legacy.  I expected professionalism from you, and did not receive it.  You are continuing to put ego before integrity...I did not receive your best efforts, and you did not perform to the best of your abilities. I could keep going on and on and will if I have to.  My suggestion is to do the right thing.  Life is short enough.   I think you know the right thing to do is send me a complete refund, as well as the additional $6500 that I am out of pocket. Word of mouth is a very effective way to generate new clients and retain current ones. This practice may replace your newspaper advertisements.

We also had an unusual situation where our closing costs needed to be negotiated after the former owners figured out whether they would be getting anything back at the end, and Katie handled that good faith arrangement with skill. We were able to close at the time we had agreed upon and were so happy at how smoothly everything went on closing day. Most notably, we had so many problems with our negligent home inspector. Though this was outside of what we had contracted Katie to do, she not only provided really helpful legal advice about taking this home inspector to small claims but also eventually handled the negotiations between us to settle. Don't mess around with property law - Katie is professional, thorough, and an easy person to trust in a subject that is known to be complicated and confusing. If my husband and I are ever in a position where we need real estate legal assistance again, we will 100% be reaching out to her and would recommend her to anyone.

When my mortgage company threw up a last minute roadblock that threatened the deal, she spent hours personally calling and emailing contacts at the bank (going all the way to their executive leadership) pushing them to resolve the issue. Her dedication, resourcefulness, and drive saved the deal and secured my new home for me. I cannot recommend her enough! What an incredible property lawyer!
