They are fairly new so there was not a real food menu, however the Baklava and ice cream was wonderful. We've been assured of a new food menu next month!! Baba, the owner, really sweet! Looking forward to coming back!!

The actual hookah was mid at best for D.C I was expecting a lot better. Then when it came to the bill we were charged $4 for each bottle (of which we were not even told there was a charge at all for water, and no we did not specifically ask for a sealed bottle all we asked for was water the sever never said tap or bottled, she just automatically brought us sealed) when on the menu they were priced at $3.50 sure it's .50 but when there was five that .50 extra could have almost bought another bottle. Also when she brought the bill she did not even show the itemized bill at first all she showed was the tip screen which upon doing the math from what we ordered vs paid we realized the amount was way higher than what we got and so we asked for the copy of the receipt only to find out there was ALREADY a service charge on there of which was NOT a credit card charge because we paid in cash and when asked what the cash total was she told us $60.31 yet the copy showed the cash price was $57.91 also they charge for charcoal, what am i suppose to do bring my own charcoal? i've never had to pay extra for charcoal they just include it with hookah price, absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the vibes in this place is like an absolute funeral, all the pictures made this place look so fun and great, but no it was worse than funeral. I felt even more so like i was at a funeral after I realized how badly my wallet was robbed. I will never come back here.

Last night we ventured here after dinner…read more The Habesha community was definitely getting it in! We started out catching up outside, with hookah and drinks. My husbands cousins are here from home so last night was all about them. Eventually we made our way inside. Sat a table close to the front where the band was playing. We had a good time. The band reminded me of an Ethiopian GoGo band...hahahaa! They were really good. Was definitely a vibe. We would come back here...waitresses were welcoming & attentive...good vibes, great company...what more can you ask for?! Happy Yelping!

Stopping by here while on a road trip was totally unexpected good times…read more I was leaving from D.C. on a Sunday and was wanting a adult drink and to vibe out a little. Google brought up Black Rose as a suggestion. It is about 20-30 away from downtown. But after getting to the parking lot, I could tell I found the right place for a vibe. Music could be heard from outside and there was a little line of gorgeous people wanting to enter the establishment. Once in, my attention was directed to the my right where the band was getting down on making the crowd move. Turning my head back to the bar area, it was people wrap around it. Continuing on there were people in booths, at all the high tables, and just sprinkled throughout the lounge. Though it was a mixed crowd, you could tell it was an Ethiopian heaven. It was really a good energy felt amongst everyone. Couple things I will say is that though I like loud music, It was extremely loud to the point, I went outside to the seating area to finish enjoying my drink and vibing out. Other thing that bothered me was the cleanliness of the bathroom. I'll that it that and move on. The bartenders were not only extremely gorgeous they made some strong drinks. I mean, make you look up at them like "what the heck, you made that drink!" It was free to get in, staff was quick on taking orders, it was a vibe. I highly recommend Black Rose if in the D.C. area.

We got our section and was dancing to the Ethiopian songs. Our section was spacious enough for us all to dance and enjoy. Everyone had a good time and was dancing with each other. I would absolutely come here again. They played a mix of afro beats and Ethiopian music and we enjoyed them all! It's a go to place for sure

The owner can be rude, smokes hookah while he tells customers he can't work or help with your order cause his off the clock (there's one server she's nice but she's not attentive and you have to remind her). My friends (the six of us) and I did not have such good experience because was not demographic "Habesha" which was main reason we couldn't listen to mainstream music such as AfroBeat when we put it as a suggestion Chris (the owner) would remind us that we have to listen what the demographic is (to mind you our music preferences has no profanity). I never feel discriminated against but this incident was really awkward because we were there for a while when we just asked if you can change the music change he was very inappropriate reply!! I'm not sure what demographic or majority he was talking about cause the whole hookah lounge was bit empty Anyway instead of getting an apology he continue to be rude, after this night we will not be returning back and I would encourage you learn from my experience this worst encounter I had with an owner, if this is the way he handles business and customers he won't have a business for so long
