Laughingly, she said, "Of course, everyone has...BUT I have my #Faith to help me get through those things. Do YOU have #Faith?" Trigger. Boom. Let's look at the definition of trauma: trau-ma l"trôm/ noun 1. a deeply distressing or disturbing experience. "a personal trauma like the death of a child" 2. physical injury. "rupture of the diaphragm caused by blunt trauma" synonyms: injury, damage, hurt, wound, wounding, sore, bruise, cut, laceration, lesion, abrasion, contusion NOT everyone has experienced this, Adrienne, and you minimized and trivialized me with this statement. Well done. You won that round. Yes, I left the session in tears. Yes, I was suicidal- look at the forms. I didn't answer that question, did I, AND I told you why. I was guilted into making the hour plus trip for this appt. I was NOT in the mindset to undertake this endeavor that day and called the day b4 to reschedule. (It took me 4 YEARS to get up the nerve to discuss starting EMDR and we never even got around to it! Having relocated to reboot my life after Chelsea died JUST before lockdown, not knowing anyone, having a support system was a major deterrent- but I explained that to you both, Adrienne and Derrick. It was more important that I NOT inconvenience you since you rearranged your schedule to see me. I am SO gr8 ful to you for doing your job. Kudos.) Just FYI, I was in a good deal of pain (remember I mentioned that I need an Atlas to Coccyx spinal fusion after caregiving my now dead daughter for 18 mos with a torn rotator cuff? AND since I don't do opioids, I took a BC powder- look up the contents. #IYKYK Also, I rcvd a steroid injection the day b4 for pain. I don't do well with steroids at all and was really anxious, cuz they def make folks jumpy. You never asked. You attacked. I hadn't eaten, I mentioned that as well, and I'm hypoglycemic, so I headed to my new fave restaurant for a healthy meal, no booze, just the sun and water for company. Did a little walk about in New Baltimore, then headed to Marine City. Chatted with a lovely mom and her little, met a couple from St. Clair down by one of the gardens on the waterfront. PTSD is a cruel roommate, but I am a #Warrior and #Survivor. I wish you the best. Never, in 40 years of being a #TeacherConsultant have I EVER reduced a parent, child, admin, caregiver, teacher, superintendent, peer, ANYONE, to tears. I had been to physical therapy, done exercises at home, taken more Aleve than I probably should have. I'm only three weeks into treatment with Dr. Emma and I'm virtually pain free, with very few, if any, issues. They spoke with doctor offices on our behalf, they provided PT, OT, and personal care for my daughter. They even helped us get an at-home Physician that would visit my daughter since she is bedridden. I can't say enough great things about this company and the employees. Our nurse Michelle has been Heaven sent. She helped us so much and was an absolute Angel! Also, Reem the Case Mgr. was fabulous as well. She helped us get our hospital bed and other medical equipment that was really needed. Their whole team is just great! I spoke to Mason on the phone to make an appointment. He recently took over the business a few…read moremonths ago. It's great to have a hyperbaric chamber close by and they are open on Saturday too. The hyperbaric chamber sessions are about 60 to 80 minutes. They cost about $125 a session. It's a zipper that you have to enter through. He said it's comfortable inside and I can be in with my phone, shoes off though. It's in the same shopping center as Wannashake? And Jonny Cakes, both good spots too. It's next to the Troy City Fitness. Compression for the legs for increased blood flow. The compression feels good, feels like a deep squeeze massage. I got set up with my charger for my phone since it drains quickly. The compression is for a half hour. It is supposed to help you feel lighter on your feet. The cryo is only for 3 mins. Socks and gloves to avoid hypothermia. It's at -200 degrees. In the buff. Boxers for the boys and their boys, if you know what I mean. The crypto is $60 a session. My teeth started to chatter within the first few seconds. Wow. Felt aches from my knees and my elbows, due to inflammation in the area. They provide you coffee and water while you are in your sessions. The hyperbaric chamber session started around noon. Takes about 5 minutes to inflate the chamber. Clear your ears like on a plane the first few minutes. The pure oxygen in your nose takes some getting used to the taste and smell of it all. Once you are in and it's inflated and your ears have popped, it's quite comfortable to just chill out here for an hour. The bed pad could use another layer. Come in for some detox and brain clarity and great blood flow too. Depressurization right on time. Ears are popping again. Decided to try it all and do a session in the infrared sauna for a 29 minute session as well. It's warming from my core out. It feels like a warm and lovely hug. The service here is above and beyond. Mason puts you at ease and regularly checks up on you to make sure you are not uneasy or uncomfortable in every session. He has great bedside manners and is detailed in explaining the session process and benefits too. From the compression, frigid cryo, infusion of intense oxygen and the infrared heat. I feel energized and refreshed. I have been here for almost 3 hours. It feels like a full day spa day today. Feeling so fantastic. It feels like 3 hour Swedish massage. I bought a package for my husband to try it all as well, soon.
