Dr. Kelly is compassionate and highly knowledgeable. She and her wonderful assistant , Alice, have been to my home twice. They helped my cat with Multiple Myeloma tremendously, working in conjunction in with our oncologist. Her exams are thorough and she takes time to answer all our questions. I love how she did the exam with my cat on his favorite pillow bed. She definitely has an understanding of cats that is more than just the physical - she gets our cat's personality and knows how to help him. It is so much less stressful not having to take my cat outside as he has been an indoor cat all his life. My family highly recommends Dr. Kelly!

Dr. Kelly has been a god send to our family. My wife and I first met Dr. Kelly during the worst time in our life. Our dog had cancer and despite fighting hard, it was time for her to say goodbye. We don't have children so our dogs are like children to us. The prospect of letting her go nearly had me institutionalized. Dr. Kelly came to our home to help our dog transition to the other side. I cannot express to how difficult this was for us. Dr. Kelly brought so much kindness, compassion, and love that it actually made the experience tolerable. She took her time and was not clinical or cold. She loved our family member and it showed. Since then, we have been exclusively working with Dr. Kelly and her team for all of our veterinary needs because frankly the quality of care is unparalleled. She is extraordinarily knowledgeable, understands exactly what animals need, and has a warm and loving bedside manner that makes animals and their humans feel safe and comfortable. Her ability to diagnose health issues and treat them effectively and efficiently fills me with gratitude every time we see her. She keeps our animals healthy, thriving, happy, and energetic. She is at the top of her field in terms of subject matter expertise. She gives us high-value advice on everything from nutrition to exercise to which medications are most safe and effective. Over the years we have gone to virtually every vet hospital and veterinarian in Southern California. I can tell you without hesitation that Dr. Kelly Is the absolute best veterinarian we've ever worked with.

Dr. Kelly is a saint. I called her at the last minute when our 17 year old fur baby was rapidly deteriorating and needed to have a peaceful passing. Dr. Kelly immediately fit us in and calmly told us the procedure and what to expect. Dr. Kelly is professional, caring and handled our entire situation perfectly. She was able to give us peace of mind about our situation, but more importantly, she gave our little fur girl the delicate care and help that she needed. It's never an easy choice to decide to help an elder pet pass peacefully but I don't know how we would have managed without Dr. Kelly. She answered our questions before we even asked them. She made sure that we had the help and closure that we needed. I'll always be thankful for her and for the help she was able to provide to our family.

Lexi after her appointment just chilling!

Honestly, I did not have high expectations for this vet. I do not know the area too well but by driving around, it doesn't look like an area I would be frequenting. I assumed the inside of this place would be like a run down county clinic deep in the trenches of Los Angeles. Which I've had my fair share of experiencing back in the days. I was so wrong! This place is so awesome. The girls at the front desk are so sweet and attentive! I had a lot of questions every visit, I never had a puppy before and I was really anxious about making sure she was healthy. They always answered everything very patiently and had the best attitude. Since I do not live close I would have to call over the phone for vaccination records to enroll my puppy into classes etc and I even changed her name and they'd always answer my calls and email over anything I needed. The customer service has been exceptional. I would come here simply for that alone. They decorated the office so nice, it looks newly remodeled. The waiting lobby is small but comfy. They do not push for any specific food brands which is refreshing. They always call to remind you of an appointment. The people and their dogs that I've seen here all are very friendly and it looks like everyone comes for routine and not because their dogs are sick. I love that! The prices are fair, they're not low by any means but they're not outrageous. I find them to be decent for the services. I really appreciate the care they provided for my girl, she was here quite a few times due to being a puppy. We now go to a place closer to home because I don't live in Los Angeles. It's honestly the only reason. But I highly recommend this place to anyone in LA looking for a good vet!

Recently brought one of our dogs here for a serious issue. We never even saw the doctor, only spoke to them through a phone call even though we were at the office. After speaking to the doctor, the assistant presented the estimate very matter of factly. We declined one of the procedures. 3 hours later when it was time to pay they tried to charge us for the declined service even though it clearly was written on the estimate that it was declined. The absolute worse part is that after coming home, our other dog developed the same symptoms as our dog we had brought in. We called them back and asked to speak to the doctor for counsel. They had no idea who the doctor was. Finally we were told the doctor would call us back. We never received a call and our other dog passed away that night. Obviously we were gutted and when we took our deceased dog in for afterlife care the next day, the receptionist just shoves the brochure at us and gives us prices. Not even a simple sorry or modicum of concern. They dont care about your pets. I write this because I dont want someone else to potentially feel the pain we feel for waiting for these folks to call you back and having something horrible happen.

Finn is extremely shy and particular, and giving him fluids at home just isn't an option. We also made the intentional choice not to associate his one safe space, home, with anything painful. At the clinic, it sometimes takes three nurses to support him, one to gently hold him, one to feed him churro (his favorite distraction), and one to administer fluids. And they do it all with so much patience, compassion, and genuine care. Because of this team, Finn is not only stable, he's doing so well. Truly, I believe they've saved his life. Because I had to go to work/could not cancel, I opted to do the day after. The estimate at MASH is $6,000-8,000 but here it was around $4500. I dropped my cat off early on Wednesday for his check-up, test, and surgery. Ultimately, they disagreed with the vets at MASH and said my cat had no crystals either in x-ray or in his urinalysis but did have a UTI which contributed to a second blockage (bladder overflow). They kept him for 48-hours to unblock and recover. This cost around $2K. At MASH where he had done the same 2 days earlier, it was $6K When MASH returned my cat, he was rough. He reeked of pee, his face was completely crusted/sticky with dried medicine, his fur was full of shed, and he was lethargic and in pain despite all the medicines. When Affordable returned him, my cat was bright and energetic. They clearly took care of him (he smelled like a baby wipe). It has been about a week since I brought him home, but I knew immediately that he was feeling better the day I picked him up. Now, he has completely recovered. Back to flinging himself around and meowing at 4 am. I am incredibly grateful to this hospital for their responsiveness, flexibility, affordability, and the kindness they showed my cat. I was worried that I would end up losing my cat (I had paid nearly $7K at MASH and he wasn't better) if he blocked again, but Dr. Barrera said that I should "give my cat a chance." He said that it is what he would do if it were his cat. I'm grateful that I did because it saved him from unnecessary surgeries. My cat was seen by Dr. Forsythe and Dr. Barrera and they both were very kind and gentle with him. I do see what some reviews mean about their disorganization. They forgot to call me to update me that he wasn't getting the surgery but would need to be hospitalized. I had to call them, but it turned out that Dr. Forsythe had gotten very sick. He returned my call despite being audibly quite sick and given that my cat needed the hospitalization anyways (and he was fine), I can see how it slipped through the cracks. They seem to accommodate all kinds of emergencies as best as they can, so I think a little disorganization is totally ok. I do think Dr. Forsythe needs a new phone. It sounded like he was calling from a remote cabin or from a phone that fell off a cliff. I had to listen to the voicemail at max volume more than once. I will likely return again/switch my primary vet to this one because it is closer, cheaper, and I had a great experience. And apparently, my shy scaredy cat enjoyed the attention he received here. There are some more "affordable" vets but in terms of quality/expertise, this hospital is well worth the price. When I called around to vets in Los Angeles for cystotomy prices, Ambassador Dog & Cat Hospital were the only ones that actually do it (many don't update their sites) that are near me (don't have a car) and their estimated price was also the same $4500. They are also roughly the same prices of my long-time vet (Beverly Robertson, wonderful, estimated $4K for procedure) and especially after going to MASH, these prices might as well be pennies. CareCredit is accepted basically everywhere, but what's nice about this hospital is that they accept ScratchPay which is a god send for emergency vet loans. This hospital is in an old building, but is still very nice and clean. Maybe not as sparkling as a brand new facility, but on par with the vets I've gone to over my lifetime.
