If that doesn't keep me out of a nursing home, I don't know what will! Bestie and I finished our morning waffles and the chocolate shopping began. We went in every single shop and others around town. Thank goodness for cool temps because we had so many treats! This is a beautiful area to spend some time. We left with an extremely robust selection. A couple of my Easter bunny's from Mary's broke in transit back to the states but most everything else remained in tack. I loved admiring all of the store fronts decorated for Easter.

I didn't end up buying anything since I was leaving Brussels that day and didn't want to lug more around but still enjoyed looking around and walking through it.

I am super grateful there is a Pierre Marcolini shop located here because I adore his chocolates but it does slightly hit the wallet. There's also a good cheese shop and I hit up Di for girly stuff at the same time. I haven't had much luck with the bread shop so tend to avoid it. There's also a C&A (similar to Macy's or JC Penney) which has great bargains from time to time. The one store I hate to shop at here is Proximus - don't get me wrong, am very glad it's here but the lines are so long, they either need to staff up, or expand store footage or have more seating. The people at the help desk (located in the middle of the mall) are always very friendly and there's always some sort of goodies available. Also suggest that you go thru mall magazine (also found at the help desk) because sometimes there are great coupons and deals to be found!

I saw a scarf that was literally two dead ferrets sewn together (sewn together at their faces, in case you're wondering). There are a bunch of people selling both religious art and paintings of naked ladies at the same stall. This is an experience just to go and walk around, but if you're willing to put in some time, there's a lot of good stuff to be found. Haggling is encouraged.

I visited about an hour before closing but there were still a lot of people there.. mainly locals. I had just arrived in Brussels an hour before so I had my backpack, camera bag, and my camera hanging around my neck. I was your typical tourist, but no one tried to flag me down or sell me things. That is a major bonus point! There are truly random things that ranged from teacup sets to silverware, old paintings and photographs/postcards, used toys, and handmade goods and masks from Africa. Some of them looked like they were really worn ("trash" my hubby called some, but what is one person's 'trash' is another's 'treasure'!) while others could have been new. My eyes were caught by some African masks at a "stand" that was made up of items laid on a large blanket and the owner saw; he handed me one. One thing lead to the next and due to luggage space, we ended up getting a small bronze sculpture of an African woman. We bargained a bit - he knew rudimentary English - and off we went. A fun experience! If I lived in Brussels, I might make more frequent visits. As it was, I enjoyed myself while there. I imagine one could get lost with all the items there for a while...

My goodness. This…read moreshop is located on a major street that stretches forever and is lined with numerous shops and small eateries. I was looking for a big sweater since I did not come adequately prepared for the sudden cold (low 30's in the evenings). Primark is like your local Ross store but a step lower since about 80% of the clothing/accessories/shoes are not brand names, but I was surprised at how inexpensive yet trendy some of the items were. For example, they had a sale on men's jeans for 7 Euro. I purchased a scarf that was inexpensive but good luck if you need to try on anything. This store was packed to the brim. Inexpensive, good variety of items, and filled with a majority of locals from the other side of Brussels, if you understand the meaning.

How cool is that :) The clothes are really nice and cool. They really pay attention to there selection. You have enough scales in the store to wait and see for how much you are buying. The store by himself is very well decorated. Vintage, hip, cool, etc.... Staff is hipsterisch en friendly. One dissapointment, you can not buy the furniture :) Great place and great stuff !
