I was a bridesmaid for a wedding here and it was so fun! I thought the venue was beautiful and…read moredidn't need many additional decorations. It gives off the modern barn style that is super trendy right now. They had a room for the wedding party to get ready and it was pretty small but still served its purpose. I do like the fact that both the ceremony and the reception were right across from each other so it made it super easy.

I attended an event here (Boomer Radio Sock Hop). The place is very nice. Parking lot would be…read moresuitable for most events, I think, but since there were A LOT of people at this event we weren't able to find a space in the lot. I really liked that there were two separate spaces on this floor, so there was a room where people were dancing to loud music, and another room that was quiet, spacious, and well-lit where people could eat and have conversations. I really appreciated that and it definitely added to my enjoyment of the event. The room where we ate was rather plain (still really nice). The other room was unique and beautiful, and has a patio. A downside is that there is a separate event space downstairs, and if something loud is going on down there you might hear it (and feel the floor vibrate). So that could be really problematic for some events. I also have a complaint about the bathroom. It is quite narrow and cramped. The ladies' room has 5 stalls, which honestly is not enough for a large event, especially since there are only a couple sinks and not a space for a larger mirror. Also - a HUGE peeve of mine - the doors of most of the stalls hang in a closed position, so to see if they are occupied you have to bend over to check if feet are there, in this very narrow space. It's not cool at all, and it's really annoying because the latches are designed in such a way that with a small amount of extra thought put in, they could indicate if the stall is occupied or empty. The building overall has been renovated so nicely and someone really dropped the ball on this aspect. It is a really lovely space, the event was enjoyable. I DEFINITELY appreciated not having to yell to have a conversation; this makes the venue a great place and accessible to groups that include guests who don't want to spend an entire event in a loud room.

But we love coming here for the Renaissance Faire and the Pirate Festival, we come to at least one of them every year, so obviously we are satisfied with the place. The Ren Faire is held for 3 weekends in the Spring; the pirate festival is one weekend in late summer. The pirate festival is on a smaller scale. I think it's fun to go because it's cool to just wear clothes that are slightly piratey and hang out, watch some performers, and eat food I wouldn't normally eat. These things cost about $18 to get in, and then with food and little items you want to buy it can kind of add up. But that's the nature of the thing. Parking is free. You will probably be parking in a grassy area. For the big events they usually have people directing traffic so it stays pretty orderly.

They have a live band-from like 6-9pm? food & drink stations, and lots to see if you want to walk around. Although there were long lines to get food & drinks, it seemed to go quickly because the band was playing, you could people watch and just talking to the people in front or behind you. Everyone was so nice! They do have a different selection of drinks at different bars, so be sure to check that out. I think the value for what we purchased was decent. If you don't want nachos & tacos there's another food stand up the hill with hamburgers & hot dogs! Seems to be something for everyone & all ages are welcome! There's a lot of picnic tables & you can bring a folding chair. This is a nice venue to chill & hang out especially after a long bike ride!

Limelight Expressions was the best decision we made for our wedding! My husband and I knew early on…read morethat we wanted a day-of-coordinator to help our wedding day run smoothly. After our initial consultation with Kimmylea, we decided to go with the Something Blue package since we were early on in the planning process. With this package we planned alongside Kimmylea and got the day-of coordination. She helped us every step of the way keeping us on track with booking vendors and even recommending vendors as well. Kimmylea was so easy to get into contact with. She always responded in a timely manner and we had several meetings along the way as well which helped us feel prepared. The wedding day was stress-free for my husband and I and our whole family. Kimmylea and Beau set up everything and tore down which was so nice to not have our families worry about. At the end of the night I found out our venue's security guard never showed up and they wouldn't be able to serve alcohol without one. Luckily Beau was able to fill that role due to his occupation. I'm not sure what would have happened if Kimmylea and Beau weren't there, but I'm glad I'll never have to find out. Kimmylea also stepped up when I was feeling uneasy about a last minute DJ switch. She contacted the owner and helped reassure me that everything would be great. If you are looking for a wedding or any type of event planner, look no further. Limelight Expressions will go above and beyond to make your day perfect and stress free!
