The only drawback is that it's often difficult to speak with someone directly when I call, leading to leaving a message or using the portal. I totally get that everyone's schedule gets thrown off at one time or another, and often it happens because we are helping others. But if I've been sitting in your waiting room for more than 40 minutes (granted, after being told at the outset that you were running 20 minutes late), and the first staff member to pop up within that time asks me for money without acknowledging or explaining the wait, I'm going to feel like a sucker and a low priority. So I left without seeing her, after her staff member, without apology, instructed me to call them to reschedule. Fat chance.
