Things to take into consideration when going to Dr. Gundersen's office, managed by Genen group, in Hollywood. -traffic on the 101 is hit or miss. An emergency could easily add an hour to a 10 mile commute. -there is no parking, which easily adds 10-20 minutes to your commute when you have to walk 1/2 mile. -there is a 250 dollar late fee for being 10 minutes late to an appointment. Unfortunately, this his office would rather lose a customer than waive or lower the fees for being late the first time. its not a matter of if you will get charged, its a matter of when. Advice: - for the sake of your mental health, do not go here. - if you do go here, plan to arrive about 1.5 hrs early to each appointment to avoid the 250 dollar fee. read more

Dr.Gunderson had been my doctor since I was 13. I've been with him for several years. He is monotone, subdued, and shows little to no emotion at all. He didn't show interest in making me feel comfortable which makes it harder to confide in a stranger. I do NOT recommend him as a doctor if you're needing actual help. Seriously confused by these other reviews. Finding Dr. Gundersen was one of the best things I've done for myself. Dr. Gundersen is right there beside you every step of your path-- whatever path you're on. He's one of those doctors that actually listens to you, and what's more-- he hears you; he's always asking how you are, how you feel, what you want to do. And he supports you, advises you, moves WITH you. Here, you are cared for. And you know it. This is not an office where you're an anonymous number on a long roster of clientele. It feels like every single person on the team is working for YOU, making sure you feel comfortable, making sure you are okay. So from the above and beyond customer service reps, to the call center (who address me personally), to the layout of the actual building and energy/ambience of the offices, and most importantly, to Dr. Gundersen himself--this place dedicates an exceptional amount of attention to the PATIENT'S comfort and satisfaction. You feel taken care of to a level that you can't find at every office or with every doctor. With Dr. Gundersen, you just know that you're not alone. You've found someone who is just as concerned with your mental health as you are. And that is seriously rare. The first time I walked out of this office, I knew I had someone on MY team who made sure I was confident in every step of my own mental health treatment and journey. wow I think he's someone who's been fired from multiple therapy jobs for MALPRACTICE!!!! I don't have really any money and finding a therapist is hard so i signed up online for therapy and wound up with karl. he didn't listen to me at all actually made me feel really uncomfortable sharing my trauma and then prescribed me gabapentin. this was at an incredible low point and trying to seek therapy but getting fucked over was so damaging. i ended up going with another therapist and then i got a notification they charged my account 300 dollars because of a no show. real grimey shit to be doing to people who are struggling. would be a shame for allllll this bad stuff to catch up to him.... i know if i see his crypt keeper slow talking ass in person it's on sight read more

I would have a hard time establishing a closer relationship with this provider due to this, although it may not be entirely under this control. Dr Gundersen treated both my sister and I when we were teens (I am now 25), and I want my sister's story to be heard so it can be a cautionary tale. My sister started going to Dr Gundersen for bipolar and depression, and as treatment continued, he begin to prescribe more and more drugs to her, to the point where she had a giant bin full of medications she was taking. He would often up a dosage or prescribe an entirely new medication over the phone when she called. She became addicted to these pills, and exhibited all typical signs of addiction-- she'd call the office saying she "accidentally flushed her pills" to get extra, she even started stealing my prescriptions and my mother's money. She was hospitalized repeatedly for overdoses. Both myself and my mother were vocal to dr. Gundersen about her addiction but he never did anything. He never lowered her medications or stopped prescribing to her over the phone. She died of an overdose when I was 20 and she was only 24. Please execute caution when using Dr. Karl Gundersen's services-- I would not trust him with my child. read more
