This store has a lot of great things, but the employees are not so great. I asked for help with a paint mixer attachment for a drill. I couldn't figure out how to get the plastic end off...If 2 grown men can't get it off, how am I going to?! I got yelled & cussed at in front of my son by the manager. Lifesavers! Was moving from San Jose to Phoenix. Stopped in Mojave for ice tea and upon starting my car got "Bing, key not detected." No auto dealers within 60 miles and if I turned off the car ... They had the battery! For want of a $3 battery I could have been in a real pickle. Really nice people too! read more

I have been coming to Karl's for a while now, I'm cool with all of the employees to the point where we comfortably mess around and it's always just a great experience. Not too long ago, I went by and I was talking to one of the employees which I do want to remain their name anonymous but I could smell alcohol when they talked to me and it has not been the first time I smelled alcohol from them; I just don't believe it's okay for the business to have an employee like that. He is a well liked employee which is why it would make me really sad to see him get fired for something this stupid, but for the greatest of Karl's Hardware I wanted to make it known. read more

This was the first time I shopped here. Looking for a s10' section of sch 40 PVC pipe. Home Depot and Lowes will special order it for you. Not at Karl's! In stock the young man said. I needed it cut to 7'-6" to fit in my car. I asked about the cut charge and the young lady said a dollar. Well it turned out that large items cost $2.00. I complained and made A complete jerk of myself. The great customer service kept up and I was assisted with loading. I really felt bad about putting both of them on the spot. I went back and told her I was sorry and offered to pay the additional charge. She jus smiled and said it was ok. I insisted and she took to dollar and again wished me a happy day. Karl's took over the old Ace Hardware in Mojave. So far, so good. They've expanded the selection and the folks that work here are just as nice as the people in the Rosamond store. (And they know what they're talking about -- so refreshing after dealing with some people at the big box stores who were working at McDonald's the week before last.) If they don't have your wierd thingamagig at the Mojave location, they can get it for you from Karl's in Rosamond. read more

This hardware store is no longer in the Ace Hardware store chain. The store is now Karl's Hardware. The employees are friendly and helpful. The store is well stocked with items that will solve 90% of your problems. Prices are slightly higher than Lowe's or Home Depot. The store in Mojave stocks popular ammo calibers. read more

They're great. Went there early last winter looking for an evaporative cooler pad. The owner brought over one of the staff so we could go to the storage area to pick one out. No other hardware store has ever gone that extra mile. When I couldn't find the right hardware cloth the next time I went there, they had a few dozen packages of them. I inquired about canning equipment and the next time I checked they had all sorts of canning stuff. They carry all sorts of items that no one else carries. They even have a section with Dickie work clothes. There are always city vehicles and wind farm personnel there because they're so well stocked. read more

Karls hardware in Mojave's was the worst experience of my adult life. I made the mistake of stopping by here while on my way to a Home Depot and then a harbor freight. The moment I was in the parking lot and walked around to what I thought was an outdoor area I was harassed. There was a great deal of merchandise displayed and a large open fence. Like at every other hardware store I've been to this is for customers but not at Karl's. I was apparently "casing" the place I would find out later by entering there and looking without touching the displays. There was a man with two small children there as well. Upon entering I began to look around and take notice of the departments and how the store was laid out. As a knife maker and general handy man I go to a hardware store at least once a week in need of many different types of materials. I was asked what I was looking for. I had requested my primary purpose for the visit and was directed to where I could find the rivets. For the next 2 minutes I was spoken to 3x by the same employee. When I began to look at the selection which was actually very poor I heard a radio conversation about me. I asked him if there was a problem. He informed me that I was not welcome there and that's when I was told I was "casing" the place from outside apparently. I then asked to see a manager he said he was. I did not loose my temper or curse as he had 2 small children with him. I did tell him how rude and disrespectful he and the experience was. He told me he didn't need my buisness and I was not welcome. I will never go to any of these stores and will make sure to tell every and anyone I can about the experince. My wife being a women of color happened to stay outside when i went in and she wondered if her presence had something to do with the casing claim. This is my first stop but not my last. I will be going to yelp, google, and the bbb as well as the Mojave city council if need be. People deserve to be treated better. At least like people if you really wanna make America great again!! To the apparent manager, I can only hope that you are able to raise children better then you manage a store or else you will have a lot more then just this loss of buisness to answer for, and I hope to never cross paths with your rude,ignorant, probably racist but definitely a jerk self again. To the owner who has responded, I hope you save all security video as this will validate everything I have said. read more
