They left the area spotless after, and were very careful about protecting a very close fence and other property areas. They also opened the canopy on another huge maple nearby, and at our request, took great care not to tred on small spring flowers that were starting to grow underneath. I got three quotes and their prices were very reasonable. The cedars look great and they also provided mulch and a long irrigation hose to make it easy to keep them looking great, as well as clear instructions on how to take care of them. And they warranty the job for a year. They came on time and got the job done in a few hours. In other words, they did a fabulous job! We were very pleased with their professionalism and good communication. We highly recommend them.

I used Yelp's service to find an arborist to trim a big tree. The system identified and linked me to this company. They replied fast ( thank you!) but asked for a photo of the tree. I sent them a photo. But then they sent me a note to try a specific tree service. Not them. Ok. I wanted to know why they passed me on to someone. They didn't explain but sent me again to the same company they named. Again I couldn't find anyone by that name except in Toronto. But I'm in Ottawa not in Toronto. I wouldn't have contacted this company in the first place because they do not advertise the kind of work I need. So it was Yelp's system that sent them to me. still they could have transferred me to an existing firm in my area or even simpler: say: we are sorry but we cannot help you. Oh well.

I need to get my tree removed from my front yard…read more I contacted Green Thumb and they came promptly to do an assessment and write up an estimate. My situation was a bit complicated because it wasn't evident if the tree was a city tree or if the tree was my responsibility. Green Thumb worked with the city to determine it was, in fact, a city tree...so not one that Green Thumb would cut down. Despite the amount of time that Green Thumb put into the project they refused compensation. They are were also very polite and friendly during their site visit.

I watched the crew, and also met the entire crew, take down a massive, three-trunk Manitoba Maple,…read morein a neighbor's backyard, that was attached to my backyard. The branches from this massively wide three-trunk Maple tree, hung over a few neighboring backyards. The crew from Gigi's Trees were very professional and mindful of where they dropped large tree branches ensuring nothing on anyone's property was damaged. It took well over eight hours to complete the job because of how huge the tree was. After the tree was down, they cleaned up any/all debris, smaller branches and sawdust, whether on my property and/or other neighbors. Great job! What I appreciated most, however, was how they spoke to each other. Very professional. Very kind with manners. There was no foul talk or silly offensive "guy jokes" made while at work or when communicating with each other. Even when they ate lunch. Very clean, and that matters because little ears could be listening/hearing. One last thing - they care about wildlife that may have their home(s) in any tree they take down. Hiring a tree company that cares about wildlife also matters. Should wildlife be affected, unfortunately, a tree company with integrity will and should already know who to call for help (local rehabber, Rideau Valley Wildlife, etc).
