The garage will do what it takes to help you out. Whether it's a courtesy car, a lift somewhere or just a bit of advice they'll see you right. This is a place of regular customers and all are known by name. Servicing is efficient and you can often be fitted in as required. Pricing is reasonable - less than a main dealer but not the cheapest. The upside is good service and knowing that you're not being done. No MOTs (these are outsourced if required as part of a service). Parrington's are good at sourcing cars and will give you an honest recommendation. They will buy cars from individuals too and give a good appraisal. Premium makes are a speciality but all needs can be catered for.

I have found them an excellent small family run businness providing a five star service at modest average prices, (and signiificantly less than the dealership garages). The cars I have bought have always proved exceptionally reliaible and any problems / queries dealt with quickly and efficienltly.

Possibly the worst experience I have ever had from a car dealership. Being told an hour before…read morecollection that the car has broken down; no communication whatsoever; wrong dates on all the paperwork including the finance deal; to add insult to injury the wheel alignment and balance were so far out that it made traction control come on whilst doing 70mph on the motorway. Took it in to get fixed, they did nothing so I went elsewhere and billed VW. No apology, just a refund. I thought I would go back to see whether it was just a bad time for them and give them a second chance. They outsourced the quotation without telling me and I was quoted over £1k for a tiny repair which cost me £40 elsewhere. If you want to be treated like an idiot who knows nothing about cars, then by all means go to VW in Guildford. Otherwise, avoid like the plague.

As it had been abuot…read more10 years since I looked for a car, I discovered that it's very much an on-line exercise these days and a quick search brought me to MJA. They have a few branches but this Guildford branch had a low mileage car with a great spec at what seemed to be a bargain. Over the telephone, the salesman was a bit cagey about the car but said to come down and he'd get it out for a test drive. MJA is just off the A3 north of Guildford. Although not the largest delaership I looked at, they had a fair selection of newer used cars and they had a large fleet of Fords, which I like for the driving experience. They get a lot of Fords which are ex fleet cars at just under a year - so, they're low mileage, have a good spec (Bluetooth, remote controls for music system) and usually not trashed like ex hire cars would be. On my arrival, I was informed that the car I had wanted to look at 'had just been sold' but that they had similar spec models (at higher prices). As I thought I would be commuting 120 miles a day, I was after a fuel efficient but comfortable car. Car magazines spoke highly of the Ford Fiesta and I took one out for a test drive. The salesman wasn't keen for me to take it out onto the A3 (I was keen to see how it handled on a motorway as that would be my main commute) but we went onto a road where I managed to hit 50mph. Once back at the office, we got down to talking money, As usual, I got the old sob story about how they're virtually giving the car away. I come back with how we wanted to spend a lot less. He talks to his boss. Boss comes over with a sheet of paper showing how the car cost them more than they're selling it to me for. Yada yada yada. Some of you may hate bargaining but I hate giving more of my hard earned money to anyone than I have to and just in case you haven't read my recent review about Ford Wimbledon, NO ONE PAYS STICKER PRICE! They shifted a bit on price but refused to budge over a tank of diesel. So, I walked out and said I needed to think about it. Now, it's very interesting that after I walked away, all the dealerships where I looked at cars rang me back the next day. So, my advice is to do that because besides Ford Wimbledon, they all offered better bargains to try and close the deal. And remember the other golden rule of bargaining, once they move on price, they'll move again. And the best weapon in bargaining is silence and let them come back with a better deal. I did buy my Ford Fiesta from MJA once we reached a suitable compromise on price. They were good in getting a rush on the pre-sale inspection and valet and my salesman popped in on his day off to deliver me the car. So far, it has driven well. The car comes with drive away insurance, giving you a few weeks to sort out some permanent insurance One star off though because the salesman confessed to me that the really cheap car on the website isn't really available for sale and it's used to lure customers down to the showroom where they'll be sold a more expensive vehicle. However, these prices are still competitive

We brought a car…read morefrom them were shown a HPI check and given all the talk about what a bargain it was etc etc. We were shown a HPI check which we were shown finance clear, and nothing else was to see. When it came to when i had to claim on my insurance due to a crash we were told that the car is imported. We have tried for over a year to get this resolved and they and their rude solicitor, (that hung up on me when i gave him the right information) ignores all letters even though they are signed for. I would avoid, such a shame as when i brought the car i thought they were very helpful.
