Do not use her the red flags will start popping up as soon as you retain her. she makes it sound like she will advocate for you and her retainer fee is lower than others but you will soon be paying a lot more she makes it sound like she isn't going to charge you for everything but she does she doesn't charge if you ask what the weather is. eventually it starts to feel like she is working for the other side. she definitely doesn't fight for you and then lies to you so you will just agree on proposals . I had finally had had enough and fired her pretty much at the end of my divorce or so I thought. when my new lawyer went over paperwork it cost me thousands of dollars to fix what she messed up and omitted wording and such to protect me. she also put stuff in that I would be responsible for without discussing the issue at all making me solely responsible. she rushes you into making decisions. read more

She is a horrible criminal who takes your money and plays with your life. She will easily work for the other side against you after receiving payment. When asked for clarification on a court location I was told to google it. I was very confused and when I asked for clarification was told to find another lawyer. When I explained that I had already paid her and she stalled through 3 court dates she finally took the time to address the judge, but not about my very important case which involved abuse, but to request the judge dismiss her from my case. After 3 months of her playing games with mine and my son's life I had to start over and find a new way to pay a new lawyer. read more

Karyn is an absolute saint! I obtained another lawyer when I was first served with divorce papers-needless to say he was absolutely horrible. A friend provided me with Karyn's contact information and I switched attorneys mid-way because she was that good. She is professional and truly listens. She fights for her clients! I (Lacey) used Karyn A Villar years ago for my divorce in 2014 to my ex husband. It worked out very simple and fast! Very happy. Now 2019! I don't even know where to start with the nightmare that this woman has caused. I sat with her 2 years ago because my ex kept violating the court order of visitation. So she says we had enough to go to court with. She files with family court and apparently they denied her petition(I don't even know for a fact if that's true but she told me that) so then she files in Supreme Court where I waited 2 years for a court date but mind you I'm still getting high bills from her because they kept having these conferences( I forgot what the legal term for them were) and so she was billing me and not saying anything to me about what was discussed or anything. So I'm still being quiet and patiently waiting for a court date my ex was still violating the order and so she files another contempt order with the court and than we get a court date. She has me come in to prepare me for trial but only basically says to me read the first 12 pages of the petition we filed and tells me the set up of the court room. She charges $400/hr. So the day of trial arrives and she was completely unprepared to the point the judge actually said to her "Karyn what are you doing you know this stuff?" Not only did she look like a complete ass but me as well. So let me spare some people a hard time and give you some advice: if you do not have custody of your children and they are doing well in school do not listen to any lawyer who will tell you that you have a case, you will lose. Whether the kids want to live with you or not do not waste your money!! When you go to a trial make sure your lawyer prepared a list of questions and goes over them with you. I could say so much more but I already wrote a book. I wish I could put my court transcripts on here so I can show everyone how bad this woman is.
