This place is an institution! I'd heard about it long before I ever came to visit Flanders or move here. When I was visiting for long periods and felt homesick for a classic American burger, I had friends suggest this place! Perhaps because of the wall-to-wall Americana decorations. Alas, this isn't the American style burger joint my heart longs for. The choice in toppings (I still can't get with peaches on a burger, no more than my Flemish in-laws can wrap their heads around Americanized European classics), sauces, buns, and the preparation of the patties just don't appeal to me. It was also frustratingly surprising at the time to see no sides offered at all, as in America just a burger is an incomplete meal. I'd never seen it before and felt a bit ripped off. As these reviews are supposed to be based on the individual customer's preference (and not the general population of the surrounding area's taste), I personally, can't offer more stars. I, personally, did not enjoy my visits and don't return unless I'm outvoted by my friends. If you're a homesick American longing for a slice of your favorite mom and pop diner or you're just searching for that classic American taste, this really isn't the place for you. Nor do they want it to be, which must be said. They apparently are not at all trying to reference the American style aside from the decor. However, if you're into the typical Flemish burgers you'll love this joint! It's clearly unique and a high quality. If you're also American and want to try a cool European style burger, this a good place to visit! There's a reason this place was packed every time I'd been in or even driven past. It's clearly beloved. People are crazy for these burgers. You can even see a map with pins of all their visitors who (I assume) really loved their burgers, other Americans included! My partner heartily suggests the "Big Farmer" and "Boss' Favourite." Future reviewers beware! If you weren't a fan, you may get a looooooong message suggesting you head to McDonald's to sate your bad taste instead lol I suppose a little passion doesn't hurt though?

There is a nice variety of food, some salads, some quiche, other things. The arrangement is a bit odd in that the orders just get put on a service counter and it is up to you to fetch them. Beware only credid cards from Belgium are currently accepted (other than cash).
