Kate's naturopathy was a rushed, lecture-like consultation where it felt like I was being criticised for the results from my pathology as well as my eating habits. Her loud voice which could be interpreted as either passionate or intense, was condescending as each explanation was followed by "you know what I mean?" or "right?" I did not feel that the initial consultation was helpful as it concluded with a standardised pre-printed general meal plan, and shockingly, an additional $120 expense that she decided would be best for my "detox cleanse". She poured 3 random liquids into a seemingly-unhygienic measuring cylinder, with little explanation as to what each one was and poured it into a dark bottle. I was told to write on 4 bottles containing the "detox" tablets and liquids without explaining until after, that I would need to pay ~$120 extra on top of the already expensive initial fee. I declined this, which seemed to dampen the appointment and it then ended with me feeling worse about myself and my habits.
I understand that she is a naturopath but I was optimistic for more advice from her nutritional / dietetics qualifications but unfortunately, I was not impressed. read more
