I really like the food at their new Boulder location; I like it more than their Nederland restaurant. I'm so glad they opened up a new place in Boulder and I've eaten there for dinner and the buffet. The food is fresh, served hot and with as little or much spice as you like. I tried the chicken tikka, chicken curry and potato masala, naan and saag on the buffet. All were very tasty! Their raita is also quite good. I can't find a better naan anywhere and love that there are different flavors (garlic/cheese, etc.) The service was fast and friendly. Kathmandu (the original in Nederland) is our absolute favorite buffet. We were super excited when this one opened since we now live down the hill and don't get up to Nederland very often. The food is just as good, and the staff is an extension of the same friendly family from Nepal. I'm only knocking a star off because sometimes the water refills are slow, and they recently stopped bringing baskets of naan to the table and added it to the buffet instead. The food is phenomenal though, and there are plenty of gluten free and vegan/vegetarian options that are labeled on the buffet. I wish they would offer a non-dairy option (coconut or almond milk) for the chai. read more

Walked in and the host simply said only, "2?" Then walked off, which turned out he was leading us to a table. Never said a word, he was very rude. Then we sat and waited....and waited...no one came to our table or said anything. We clearly felt that we weren't welcome there and walked out. read more

Buffet is extremely disappointing and not worth the price, they had ice cream sitting on the buffet that was complete soup and some of the driest chicken I've had. The food is very spicy and they're very slow about refilling water. I do not recommend at all perhaps the menu food is better but I would not be optimistic. read more

We were pretty excited to try Nepali food in Colorado. We reached there around 830 pm, since most of the food was almost out,we thought they would be filling the food trays with more food, but to our surprise they did not. Based on the reviews , we still decided to try it. Worst Nepali buffet ever tried. Goat meat had very bad smell. Very cold and salty food. We love this place as much as we love the original restaurant in Nederland. Amazing lunch buffet that tastes fantastic and is one of the more affordable options in Boulder. What a great experience! We went on a whim for dinner last night. First, this place has only been here for a few months but apparently was getting bad reviews. A new manager named Dev took over one month ago. He brought with him his family's Nepalese recipes and his knack for customer service. The service was impeccable - water when you need it, unlimited chai refills, excellent recs on food, and Dev's desire to make sure you are pleased with everything. A friend of a friend (a professional chef by trade) was there as a customer too because he heard good things about this place. The food was INCREDIBLE! We had chicken tikka masala (was even better than my other Indian Restaurant favorite), veggie biryani (the tastiest we've ever had), Kabouli (sp?) naan, onion soup and chai. Everything was very tasty, fresh and really pleasing. This is the same Kathmandu as up in Ned, but this experience and food was so much better than I ever remember Ned to be. Dev deserves credit. Different than curry n kebob or Nepal cuisine restaurant. Their curry is thinner and has tamer but more tasteful spices, more onion and thyme imo. Rice, eh. Great tamarind sauce, less crunchy onion bhaji. Naan was incredibly authentic and obviously freshly made--absolutely delicious. read more

This is the best place in boulder to get authentic home-recipe nepalese food. I had a very friendly and kind waiter named Birendra Bista who even sat and talked a while with my friend and I about our Tibetan Studies. The patio outside is beautiful. Being both enclosed and well-lit, it is a perfect spot to study at night or have a quiet meal outside in a private area. The artwork everywhere is amazing. The music inside is wonderful too. Amazing! So many spicy vegetarian and vegan options at the dinner buffet. The saag with no dairy is tasty and healthy. Tandoori chicken is flavorful and moist. The food tastes very clean and you leave feeling nourished. The naan is great. For 13 bucks this is definitely the best deal in town. They even have ice cream for dessert. read more

We were there for one of party organized by our family friend. Manager knew there would be traffic for party. Yeah party was big compared to the size of resturant. I assume manager would have known traffic would flow as number of invitee were known to him prior to party. It was bar time , and we were happy and enjoying. All of sudden manager started yelling in Nepali( his native language) "mampakha abadekhi nepali haru lai party book ta yetro pani gardina. Sala sabai area aafno bau ko jastai gardo rachan. sake ta sabai resturant book garnu ni" He was pissed off. If he knew the size and capacity why the hell he was okay to book the number of people for the party not letting the party host that he is not allowed to be on all part of the resturant. I left drinking and went to the party specific area and spent rest of the time there quite. I was happy nobody else listened except 2 more people from party, with their tounge out. Sorry but as a party invitee I was sorry for our host but was really sorry for the owner and his team. read more

A couple of friends and i had gone to this restaurant just for the name sake as it reminded us of back home. All of us were super hungry and ordered immediately. By the time we left, we still had 75% of food on the table. It was that bad. The chowmein was wet and mixed with curry. The matar paneer was tasteless and besides the mo:mos, most food were bad. The server would suggest u items that u dont wanna eat. He would recommend weird combinations and tge worst part is the "Thali". Its weird that u cannot order for one. U had to order a thali and it came for two. And the meat choices were very limited and they did not have goat. Definitely it was tge qst and will ve the last time i'll be visiting. read more
