It was sunny, warm and beautiful out today so I took it as a sign to take a bike ride along the river. I started my ride at the Marigold and Glenwood entrance. I made my way down the path. A lot of construction going on for the new park that is being built by the Fairgrounds. I look forward to checking it out when it's finally complete. The ride along the river was beautiful. The trail was easy to ride and had a lot of spots you can stop at to check out. Wildlife, plant life and of course the water. Every stretch of the river is so different. I did stop at a part of the river that looked like a lagoon. The trees covering the benched area. The sun shining through the branches. You get beautiful rays of sun peaking through. It was truly a magical area. Made my way further down by the white water rafting area. People everywhere on thier bikes or folks just walking. Everyone had the same idea about enjoying this beautiful weather today. We were all soaking up mother earth. I biked all the way down to Main and Chinden. I decided to flip around. I still had to ride my bike home and didn't want to overwhelm myself with a longer ride back to my house which was another mile from the Marigold entrance. If I would have had a partner with me or have driven to the river, I probably would have continued on. But, that's for another adventure! This stretch of the river was so pretty. I'm happy I got to check it out today. It's amazing how beautiful our little city is. I'm looking forward to checking out the other side of the river heading towards Eagle. I'm sure it's just a beautiful as what I experienced today.

I just love how everyone is doing their own thing, whether that's walking, strolling, biking, fishing, kayaking or even surfing! Yes that's right, there's a section where you can actually surf the stream.. how cool is that?! There a signs at the entrances that remind people not to be a "speed demon" and also signs warning about blind curves, which I very much appreciated. We rented those Lime electric scooters and were able to scoot nearly the entire path, which felt so epic and fun. Of course, we were mindful of pedestrians, bikes and foot traffic. One of my favorites parts of the path was when went past the Boise Zoo and saw not just one, but too giraffes poking their heads up at the trees. They were ginormous and even seems to acknowledge us with curious eyes and ears. What a special treat to have such an open, accessible and convenient public space right in the heart of a city!

The sunset view at the top was absolutely stunning, we came on a clear day and could see the entire city blanketed in trees. Such a breathtaking sight and definitely a must-see when visiting Boise. The parking lot was easy to find with plenty of space, making the whole experience even better.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon and there were kids soccer games, folks playing tennis, families working out, and all ages hiking the hills. Behind the park is even tons of winding trails for both hiking and biking. While the climb up to the top of the main hill wasn't all that long, it was definitely steep. With the sun beaming down, it felt rather invigorating and provided a nice feeling of accomplishment making it to the top. This park definitely is a special part of town and it's clear that local residents definitely cherish and appreciate it!

Yes, there are two - one for large dogs and one for smaller dogs. Not only that, but we also walk them around the full park until they've had enough exercise. Discovery is a HUGE park with baseball fields, dog parks, a skate and biking park, plus a well-built and fun play area for kids. I'm pretty sure we walked by a huge sand pit for kids to plain too! It's loaded with things to do, and we highly recommend it!! It's clean, beautiful, and offers a huge variety of things to do!!

Discovery park mixes all the fabulous things of a traditional park with educational pieces about Idaho. The play structure is great. It has usual bits like slides and nets to climb, but it also has funky bridges, musical components and a variety of ladders. There are two very long zip lines with the attached seat, making it perfect for all ages. (Yes even my 32 year old husband thought it was amazing) There are these super fun roller slides that are fun for older kids to try and climb, but also littles who don't like to go too fast on a slide. I love that this is the rubberized surface. When you have an early walker, this is the best type of park to go to. Behind the play structure is the best part of this park. They have a water feature to help kids learn about Idaho rivers! Kids can play in the sand, dig ditches and levies and divert water streams. There is also a traditional splash pad around the side. There are three covered picnic areas, large bathrooms and plenty of parking. This is a wonderful new park addition to our community!

(It usually does lol) or 2) I go to any of the stores on Milwaukee....Natural Grocers, the malls, etc. Frankie boy goes everywhere with me...so yeah, if we are in the area, we will stop here. Just a super pleasant park. Always clean af, great views of the foothills, happy people and even happier doggies!....which makes it even better :) Big open fields for soccer and whatnot. We see soccer tournaments there a lot. So with them, it gets crowded as hell...otherwise, it's a park you should check out.. Oh, the "walking path" is basically a dirt running track...so it's an ideal spot for joggers :) Cheers!

Art in the Park at Julia Davis Park…read more Art in the Park at Julia Davis Park is such a fun experience! The event is right along the Boise Greenbelt, so you can stroll through all the incredible art vendors and then enjoy a walk around the large, beautiful park. Fun fact: Julia Davis Park is the oldest park in Boise, established in 1907, and it's still one of the city's most popular gathering spots. There were so many vendors with a big variety of artwork, with something for every taste. I even found the perfect gift for my step-dad-in-law: a mountains and sun piece made out of different kinds of rocks. If you're an art lover, this event is a must-go-to. Another bonus is how easy it is to explore the area. You can rent e-bikes and e-scooters nearby to cover more ground. And every time we go, we always stop to see the giraffes at Zoo Boise, which is right next to the park. It makes for a full day of art, nature, and fun. Great place for families and anyone who wants to soak in Boise's creative and community vibe!
