Friendly counter order taker. Food is to go or delivered to your table (they also take phone orders for to go). My Asian #2 chicken combo was delicious and it totally filled me up fair oriced at $7.50. Comes with white rice, small amount of steamed brocolli, cabbage and carrots plus 3 veggie egg rolls. My coronavirus review rampage is rolling... although, is this place even open right now? Hasn't looked like it, but alas, this is for whenever they do open back up. I came here just for basic deli sandwiches for the longest time and then this winter moved on to their Khao Pick Sen soup after reading about it on yelp here... incredible y'all. I especially love their dark red garlic chili type sauce they serve inside and load my soup up with all that flavor-y goodness. Just fantastic. I ordered a bowl of pho and it was pretty small for the price. It also didn't have much noodles or meat. Taste wasn't great either, it was fine. The Thai tea was super sweet I couldn't drink it. The girl at the register made me get up like four times. She brought me my tea and then said "I forgot to mention, there's straws up at the counter". The counter she just walked by to bring me my tea. So there I go again, getting up to get myself a straw. She was pretty wack, made me feel like she didn't want my business. This is the best place to eat at in Chico! They have a great selection of American, Mediterranean, and Asian food on their menu. Usually when you have a spot that offers both, only one of them is amazing BUT everything here is super flavorful and amazing. The cheese steak is probably their most popular dish and for good reason. It's super cheesy, moist, and packed with savory goodness. It's a huge sandwich too. Their Khao Piek is super authentic Laotian soup that I could eat even on the hottest days while I'm in Chico, bet it's better than your momma's chicken noodle soup. They also serve this marinated fried beef that you eat with some sticky rice. I would kill to have that awesome fried beef shipped to me. Their egg rolls are hella good too. They also have their own chili oil and sweet & sour sauce that you can purchase at the restaurant and I believe some local stores in Chico (yeah it's that good). Anyway, I dream about eating at this place a lot which is probably a good thing I live three hours away or else I'd be there every day. Well it's been 6 years since my last review and the place has changed quite a bit. Haven't had their cheese steak in a while. I came back in for a chicken fried steak. Pretty standard fair (I usually get my cfs with gravy on the side), not extraordinary, but for the price it's definitely good. Another time I went in for their chicken fried steak sandwich, which was really good, but very filling. Just note it was ciabatta and a cfs patty with gravy on the side (I got it to go), so if you want an egg, it's extra. I also sometimes get their teriyaki chicken bowl, it's good, but I can't say it tops teriyaki house that used to be up the street. There's lots of chicken and it's a good price, so I'm pretty happy with it. And yeah, those egg rolls are really good. read more

I've been going to Kathy's since I was in junior high in the 90s but today was a really sad day. Having just moved back to California after living in Texas I went to Kathy's today and ordered two Phillies with the works and was then charged $24. When I inquired as to why it was so expensive they said they changed their prices in January( it said they were $10 on the menu), but they just haven't managed to change their signage yet. This is obviously just a complete disregard for their customer base and, honestly, just completely lazy. The reality though is that I love Kathy so much I bought the food anyways but, Kathy, you need to get it together. I left feeling upset and sad at the same time:-( read more

The young lady helping at the counter was very sweet and courteous. In today's world sometimes customer service never includes those small but important things that make you want to come back. Always drove by this place but never went in. My boyfriend was recently told by a friend to check out the Philly cheese steak so we decided to go for lunch today. The menu was pretty diverse- American, Mediterranean and Asian options. The prices were super reasonable as well. We both got the cheese steaks and loved them. I will definitely order that again. We waited a little bit for our food but that was obviously because it was made fresh. The employee that took our order was awesome and funny. I have tried almost every place that serves pho in Chico and Kathy's is by far the best. For me, the broth is the most important part and they've got it down. I eat it at least once a week (it's a great hangover cure). The staff is really nice and friendly, and everything I've had on their menu has been good.
