Like my daughter, the fearless independent girl she is, she dove in feet first. Camp Blue Ridge welcomed her with open arms and all the letters she would write me were full of joy, adventure, and new friendships. The counselors are all very well-screened and do such a fantastic job of getting to know, mentoring, and making each camper feel special. What I love is this camp does not discriminate, all races/religions are always welcome. The cabins are super clean, the food is fantastic, the owners are loving and the activities are off-the-charts exciting. NO ELECTRONICS ALLOWED. Every parent's dream, they have to communicate with one another without any negative impacts of social media. The field trips include waterparks, waterfalls, white-water rafting, horseback riding, tubing, and movie outings to name a few. But the magic takes place right there on-site, with over 50 activities, 2 spring lakes, tennis, pickleball, an indoor gym, huge swimming pools, and the list goes on. There are 2 full-time nurses on-site and a major hospital nearby if there are any accidents or your child needs medication daily. Fast forward, this was my daughter last year and it was so heart-breaking for all the campers but they made lifelong friends and no amount of time goes by that can break that bond. Can't say enough wonderful things about the Waldman family that have been creating smiles on these kiddos' faces for over 50 years. So if you're looking for a sleepaway camp for your child, whether they are outgoing or an introvert, look no further, Camp Blue Ridge is your choice.
