They charged me $17 for a sloppy roast beef sandwich with 1/4 pound of meat on it. When I messaged their Facebook page, the owner affirmed that it looked like a good sandwich for $17. I had to stop and get another sandwich on the way to work because this wasn't enough food for the day. I paid $9.50 for the same exact sandwich at another deli and it didn't look like a 2 year old made it.

First let me start by saying that I was very surprised by the 2 1/2 star rating. I am a local and work at the beach. The staff at Katrinkas are very friendly, and the delivery to the beach is just awesome I have ordered 2xs already. The first time I ordered the bomb, which is an egg sandwich with double meat, egg etc and hash brown on top. Itv was amazing and hot when delivered. Today I ordered the Italian sub with the works, oil and vinegar, mayo etc. It is a beautiful sub, full of flavor. My mouth is watering as I write this. Their prices are not expensive, my hero was 9 +/- with tax.

I found this spot after my partner and I were in fire Island and as we left we wanted a quick breakfast. Even though when we entered the place was pretty crowded for Sunday afternoon the food was how can I put this lightly horrible! The potatoes tasted like slop my eggs were burnt (who burns eggs!) and the whole meal pretty much was a thumbs down. The only highlight is that I was able to use their clean bathroom on the way back to the city. If I were you I would skip this spot if you're in the fire island area.

    Fried chicken

I brought this home today pathetic it's supposed to be fried chicken. Very doubtful I'll ever go back. I wish I had opened it before I left!

The only place I've found with gluten free bread! Tasty breakfast sandwiches and great service.

What truly completed the evening was our server, Adam. He was knowledgeable, attentive, considerate, and spot-on with every recommendation and every question we had. His friendly personality and great sense of humor made us feel right at home. It's amazing how one person can elevate an already outstanding dining experience. Adam did exactly that for us. We will definitely be back to Fauna, and we'll be requesting Adam as our server. Highly recommend!

We only saw the waitress one time. After waiting 15 minutes, she arrived to take our order and we NEVER saw her again. The potato purée with truffle cream and leeks, which we requested to arrive first hadn't arrived after what seemed like 15 to 20 minutes so we got up from the table and apparently they made a mistake and it should've been brought to the table and when it did, it was cold or barely warm. We tried to find someone to get us to help us, but after five minutes gave up and decided to eat it. You couldn't taste any truffle and we ate it just because we were hungry, but it was extremely disappointing. There were hardly any leaks on it and they were overcooked. Next, there was confusion over our entrée which we were splitting and we wanted to come out and we again had to try to track someone down to explain to please send out the entrée. When it arrived, the fish had been pounded down thin and was covered in breading and so much oil that it was completely disgusting and inedible. Instead of a beautiful piece of juicy flounder, we got a dry, oily thin piece, which was mostly breading and really disgusting. It had no flavor. Green beans which they put a fancy name on to make it sound special while they were overcooked and tasteless and the sweet potatoes were watered down. The rum banana was overcooked and would have been better suited as a dessert. We then had to get up from the table again because we never found our waitress so we had to go to the hostess so we can retrieve our bill and left a very undeserving 15% tip. We managed to find someone else to bring us some containers to take on the food that we hadn't eaten and in the end, I don't know why we bothered because it went in the garbage. If you want terrible service and terrible food, then head on over to Fauna . If you want good service and good food walk a few feet and there you have Flora. Flora is a small intimate restaurant that is decorated beautifully had amazing service and cooks their food perfectly. They treat each customer as if they are their most special customer. We felt welcomed there and we felt like they went above and beyond to make us happy. It was such a different experience going to that. We are shocked the same owners owned both restaurants. Maybe they should try switching managers so Fauna can learn how to run things more like Flora. I have a feeling that Fauna makes most of their money on alcohol because you certainly don't wanna go there for the food or ambience. It's noisy and obnoxious. If you want a peaceful restaurant, that's beautiful and knows what their theme is then go on over to Flora. Fauna has lamps with deer, antlers and wood that is dark and uninviting and strange wallpaper with different animals on it in the bathroom and terrible smelling soap. Their menu is confusing as with their music, which was a mix of salsa and a type of music you would expect in a Mexican restaurant. You really missed the mark Fauna.

Truly, the cocktails and menu at this restaurant are so inventive and flavor packed it feels as if there has to be something supernatural happening in the kitchen and behind the bar. We came here in early May and sat at the bar. Dillon took great care of us, walked us through the menu and made stellar recommendations all around. After having my mind blown by the Everything Bagel Martini, we moved on to share the charred octopus and Leggy's Thighs. The charred octopus was tender, and paired so well with the citrus fruits on this plate, plus the bite of pistachios?! So well put together. Leggy's thighs (RIP Leggy) were literally the best chicken I'd ever had, fall off the bone tender and topped off with flavorful furikake and hot pickled fresno chilis. We also split the Wagyu sando which I'm literally still thinking about. Wagyu on milkbread?! What an excellent idea. Live acoustic music was going on the night we were here which really added to the cozy ambiance. They also have trivia here on Thursdays (Dillon, if you're reading this, we hope your team wins the championship). 10/10 no notes. Come here if you can get a table.

There was a hair in it (I've worked in a restaurant before so I was extremely understanding about that). I sent it back for a new one and they took it off the bill without me asking. Once we got there; with our luck, the restaurant was full and we had to wait a few mins because their system was down. Which is understandable. As we wait, the couple after us had made reservations for 2 and their table was ready. First impressions matter to me and there is no reason for inconsistency when it comes to reservations. Finally, after a few more mins, they found us a table. Once we sat, and we ordered some water, they decided to moves us again to another table. Now im bothered but I didn't want that to ruin my night. The waitress took our order for drinks and food. The whisky sour was ok and our wait for food began. The couple next to us had their appetizers and main entrees served before we even got our appetizers. I understand it may have been busy, but everyone around was getting there food quicker, lack of attention. We finally got our entrees and the dishes were ok. My duck was cooked perfectly but my wife's dish lacked some flavor. She had to be careful because the fish had fish bones and we had thought they had taken those out. As we waited for the food I noticed that the owner was walking around and greeting the customers and finding out how the food was. I believe that every owner should follow this man's footsteps because he was very attentive to all and I feel that he turned our experience around for the better. Once we finished, he asked us about the food and what brought us there. Conversation with him was great and easy. We mentioned to him that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and he surprised us with a dessert and coffee. This dessert was incredible and his sweet gesture made the experience so much better. I hope to return one day and give them another chance. I would say try this restaurant and make sure you make reservations because the restaurant is always full.
