The first Haflinger I bought from her was nice. I saw another one available from her through an auction and called and asked her about it. She said it would be a good horse for my lesson program. The horse was amazing, rode the same every time out, anyone can ride it, but that the mare did "Paw a little bit when left alone". WOW WAS THAT THE UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR. This horse is totally insane and unstable. She kicks when you try to pick her feet up. She rears and breaks fences when tied up even if she can see other horses. She screams her head off while your trying to work with her, constantly neighing at all near by horses. I had hoped maybe she just needed time but it has been over 2 months now and she's just as nutzo as the day we brought her home. Heartbroken is not a big enough term. I have so many kids that were so excited about this new horse and now they wont be able ride. I only have room for a few horses and this animal is taking up space I don't have. And is totally unsalable. My students are afraid of her. All so Katy could make an extra $100 bucks off of me at an auction. She is just like all of those other horse flippers out there, willing to do ANYTHING to make a buck. read more

We bought a 16 year old Haflinger mare "Dolly" with a 3 month foal at her side from Katy in August of 2025 for pony rides at our orchard. We feel we paid a fair price. We are in love with this wonderful horse and colt. The colt is smart and beautiful. Half Gypsy Vanner. He catches on almost immediately to new things. Dolly is expecting again in July of 2026! She is gentle and sweet with the children on pony rides. Everything Katy told us was so. We know someone else who was happy with her Haflinger from Katy so that is why I contacted her. Wasn't honest about the horse we were buying. She was older than I was told. Also, I wasn't told about anxiety the horse could have (this wasn't noticable when we looked at her). Lastly, I attempted to contact Katy with a question and she never contacted me. She was very responsive prior to sale and absolutely nothing after the sale. This leads me to believe she did know about the anxiety. I will not go there again. read more

We purchased a mare from Katy to add to our herd of four in January 2025. I saw a couple horses I was interested in on her website (which has extensive videos of the horses being ridden on the trail and arena at the walk, trot and canter) so I reached out and we ended up speaking on the phone for quite awhile. I explained I was looking for a teenage, experienced trail horse who would be a good buddy for my young, green broke 5 year old on the trail. I also wanted a horse receptive to the aids and comfortable in English or Western tack. Good ground manners and trailer loading was also a requirement. Katy recommended we look at this mare feeling she might be a good fit for what we needed. We observed the horse being groomed, tacked up and ridden by the trainer and then I rode her. She did what I asked without much fuss so I proceeded to schedule a PPE. The exam did not reveal any concerns, the vet estimated her age to be what Katy had advertised, so we decided to purchase the mare. We were leaving town for a week but Katy was willing to keep her until we got back which we appreciated. We have had the mare for over 4 months now and she adjusted very quickly to her new surroundings, is very sweet and a great trail horse for my husband and trail buddy for my youngster. I was somewhat apprehensive about purchasing a horse from someone I didn't know, but this is our 14th horse over the course of the last 30 years so I feel I am fairly experienced. My questions were answered honestly (for example Katy could not say whether or not the mare had been ridden in English tack but felt she would be fine and she was) and this horse ended up being what we needed. As with any horse purchase I would always recommend bringing an experienced horse person along if you are not super experienced, have a list of questions about anything and everything and of course get a pre purchase exam. read more

If I could rate this horse trader a negative number I would. We messaged Katy asking for a beginner broke been there, done that kind of horse. She said she had a bunch to choose from and invited us out to take a look and try some out. We arrived and she had about 10 horses tied up and she walked us through them. We chose three to try. We ended up purchasing an 8 year old mare who two of us rode. This is the only day I rode her, since august. She bucked off my experienced daughter and my best friend, both who have over 20 years of experience with horses. Vet found no evidence of lameness (we were lucky there, many others have bought lame or sick horses from her). I hired a trainer who classified my new mare as "untouched," not even halter broke. Katy has you sign a no return policy. She is a dishonest person who is pushy and misrepresents her horses. I've been told by trainers as far as the west coast about her uncouth business practices. Apparently, she buys a lot of her horses from Fabrizio, ( which is also a kill pen in Colorado). Some have gotten lucky and have received horses as described. Many of us have not. How many of you would pay four thousand dollars for an unpapered unbroke mare who recently had laminitis? If you are compelled to look or buy here, get a PPE and have blood drawn for drugs. Do not make my mistake. Go on her Facebook site and reach out to her dissatisfied customers. The stories they tell resemble mine and worse. Katy, I trusted you and you didn't care. You should be ashamed of your business practices. It's not fair to your customers or their horses. read more

Pretty sure we got lucky with the mare we got from KC but as newbies in the horse world we found out by the equine dentist that 12 is the common age sellers will say when they really don't know a horses age but want to sell you a horse. Our mare seems to be closer to 20 but Katy told us she was 12! We still love her and are thankful it wasn't worse. She was sold to us as "my personal horse" but I noticed she seems to have a lot of personal horses. read more

My mom and I drove over four hours to Wisconsin, as we were told by Katy that she has a bunch of horses that fit our description, which was: BOMBPROOF, SAFE, CHILD SAFE, HUSBAND SAFE, GRANDMA SAFE, CONFIDENCE BUILDER, etc. Now, the mare we tested out initially fit our needs. She is a sweetheart, do not get me wrong. I love her very much, and she is THE sweetest, "non mare-ish" mare I have ever met in my 20 years of on and off riding, and it is because of her, that I am much more open to buying a mare in the future. But the first week we had her home, she had a pretty big spook when my mom was riding her. She turned and took off (not super fast, but fast enough to dishevel my mom), and mom came right off, breaking her pelvis and tailbone in multiple places. This is exactly what we WANTED TO AVOID, and why we asked for "bombproof". I am fully aware that by working with and riding horses, there is always a risk of injury. And I am not, nor was I ever angry at my horse, I understand it was not her fault and these things happen. But after telling Katy what we were looking for, and now reading other negative reviews, I believe in my heart that Katy took major advantage of my mom and I. She just told us everything we wanted to hear in order to make a sale. We way overpaid as well, and now I am faced with having to sell my little mare after talking with my trainer and realizing that in addition to all of this, she is too small of a horse for me. (I was told that I was the right size for her). Just icing on the crap cake. We were just looking for our unicorn, as we have been for years. Now back to square one. On top of that, getting attached to my new horse and now having to rehome her. What an overall crappy experience. I am beyond disappointed and heartbroken. read more

My recent experience with Katy's services was very disappointing. I purchased an animal from her for my son; and I made her aware that it was for my son. We had her less than 2 months, and she started displaying some aggressive behaviors. I contacted Katy right away about her behavior and asked about her diet, thinking that that might be the culprit. After adjusting her diet, it did not change her behavior. I also examined her to make sure there were no open wounds and such to indicate discomfort or pain. I started to work with her on her behaviors until one day I was just going to be a halter on, and the animal kicked me. I had to go to the emergency room. My husband contacted Katy expressing that the animal that we purchased was not going to work out for us and we were wondering if she would entertain a trade. We did not care if they did anything special just wanted something older, quiet, if the animal was slow and just followed that would suffice. We did not care if it was of lesser value. She did not give an answer right away but said she needed to figure some things out. My husband called her back a few days later and Katy was very unprofessional and dismissive of my husband to put it appropriately. She was unwilling to work with us and very insulting. We were return customers of Katy's and surely will not be returning to her for services any longer. Her unprofessional demeanor is one of the things that is concerning. If she can stand behind her product/services and policy, there is no need to treat a return customer or any customer with such disrespect. My husband was most upset that when he stated I was in the hospital she did not ask if I was okay. Her response to the situation makes me question many things about her and her services. She could have respectfully and appropriately declined a trade. read more

Where to begin, oh I know.....Do not under any circumstance, come hell or high water do buisness with these people. You're better off shoveling sand at the beach and will have a more authentic experience then purchasing a horse from Katy's. The horse buisness is known for its people who run it. They can be generous, kind, honest and good hearted. They can also be like Katy's Corral. I'm trying to find a way to properly phrase a statement that encompasses appropriate language that describes people who knowingly sell a dangerous horse for a child while advertising it as safe and good for kids. The only thing safe about this deal is their bank account. They literally sold us a horse for our child, knowing it was for a child with issues such as but not limited too - not being saddle broke, fears of synching, bites and thrashes her head. Basically what I've been doing since I bought this thing. The horse was advertised as a "perfect option for a 4-H". That would be true if 4-H stood for Hell, Hungry, Hitting and Hiccup. Then yes, it is 4-H ready. Again, they knew this was for a child and cared more about where they where going to poop after lunch then the safety of our child and the honesty of their company. I'll make you a deal, give me your money if you feel like giving it to Katys. I'll at least tell you to your face you're getting jack squat before I walk away. Katys won't be as honest. read more

I bought a horse from Katy about a 1 1/2 years ago. He was intended to be for my young daughters. When I went to try him he was quiet but rode more like a green horse and not a tried and true trail horse but none the less I figured I could work with him if he was quiet and willing. I bought him trusting Katy saying he was "child safe". I grew up with horses and rode competitively for over 20+ years so I am not inexperienced with horses. Within 1-2 days of him being on my property he was nuts. I went to pick his feet and he was slamming himself down on the stall floor and me into the wall. I tried riding him after a couple days and he was trying to buck or run off if you asked for anything more than a walk. Absolute craziness. He was loaded with worms, teeth were bad. I had to have the vet out to sedate him so the farrier could trim his feet and he still couldn't get the job done. In the first 2 weeks I paid over 1000k in vet bills. I tried calling Katy and she did not return any calls. Jacob Sharpee was working for her at the time and I did manage to speak with him. At this point I knew Katy was a fraud and probably drugged the horse to sell it. All in all I was out 2800k. I called Jacob and gave the horse to him. He said he would "make it right" which never happened. I do believe Jacob was put in an unfair situation and I do believe he is a good person. At the end of the day, lesson learned. And for those leaving 5 star reviews I feel they were lucky and got good horses, not because Katy is a great horsewoman/business owner. Also, her facility is filthy. Horses standing in disgusting stalls and crammed together in dry lots. read more
