Correspondence was easy and prompt, delivery was right to our rental property, and pickup was flexible and prompt. With board travel fees as high as they are, this is a no-brainer, especially when traveling with a group, as the logistics of travel with a family and oversize baggage adds layers of complexity to travel plans that are best avoided if possible. For the cost of the oversize baggage fees each way, Kauai Surfboard Rentals delivered a brand new board to me at 7 am on my first day on the island (with leash, bag and wax) and picked up the board on my last day after a morning surf. My girlfriend and I had a few days in Hanalei on Kauai and wanted to make sure we got to paddle board while we were there. We asked a local if he knew of a good place to rent paddle boards....he told us about Kauai Surfboard Rentals. We were staying at a house of the beach and they brought the paddle boards right to our door. The owners were so nice and great in getting back to us when we had questions prior to getting boards (other rental companies sometimes don't get back to you right away). Also, the boards were really nice and I felt like they had great inventory and you weren't just handed any board. I DEFINITELY recommend this place for paddle board rentals. I've been surfing most of my life and anyone knows traveling with surfboards on any trip is expansive and usually damaging. I've been to kauai a few times and usually always rent and never found a board option for my size and skill level. Kauai surfboard rentals not only had some of the best models and quality boards, the people who own the business really show the aloha spirit. I went out to Hanalei Bay one afternoon and saw that it was perfect conditions for surfing. I called these guys up and within an hour I had a board and was out in the Ocean. They were able to give great advice on the style of board I should get and it worked out perfectly and was in excellent shape. They delivered it right to the spot I wanted and picked it up from the place I was staying the next day. I could not have asked for a better experience. They were very responsive, quick to get me an excellent board, much cheaper than any other option, and overall extremely friendly. Excellent experience with Kauai Surfboard Rentals. We rented 2 surfboards and a sup. They scheduled to meet and also dropoff the boards at the airport car rental which was helpful. My boys really liked the surfboards they tried. The surfboards were all Kelly Slater designed boards. KSR allowed us to swap out the surfboards so the boys could try different boards. We bought the rental insurance which worked out for us because some dude dropped in on my son and put a gash on the board. KSR was cool about it and only charged us for the $50 deductible. We recently traveled to Kauai on vacation with a crew of 9 surfers and KSR hooked us up! We were looking for a range of boards, from foam tops to performance short boards and KSR absolutely delivered. Literally, they delivered the boards to our house for free! The quality of the boards was far superior to any we found in rental shops. Many of their boards are brand new! It was easy to extend our rental and even swap boards over the course of the weeklong rental. KSR provided straps and foam bars for our car. What an incredible experience! I have been looking for a surfboard rental company like this when I travel to Kauai. In the past, I would pay the money to have my board shipped, hoping it would not be destroyed by the handlers from the airline. Finally a company with solid high performance boards for serious surfers! Best yet, they delivered my board straight to my hotel! SUP and Surf Kauai was perfect for my honeymoon. My wife and I flew out from California for our honeymoon and we so lucky we used them because we wanted to surf and standup paddle board but it was hard working out the logistics of how we could get boards. Rented boards for my son and myself. Ajay was really accommodating dropping the two boards down South at Poipu. Choice of surfboards available are top notch and no other shops carried the quality of boards offered by Kauai surfboard down South as far as I know. If you want to make the most out of your surf trip to Kauai, I highly suggest getting your boards from Kauai surf rentals to make sure you got the best gear to enjoy the surf. Why risk your boards getting broken by the airline and pay 150/board per one way when you can get the right board for the swell for less. read more

Very happy with the surfboard rental experience through Kauai Surfboard Rentals. Great quality board (8'0" Walden Magic Model) with delivery and pick-up included in the price. Aja also provided a protective bag, removable car rooftop rack, and wax. All communication was prompt, and overall vibe was extremely polite and welcoming. Equally as rad as the delivery aspect is that they have high performance boards for less than other places on the island. Those are the best boards you can find as a rental! Great selection of performance long boards, and they come in amazingly good condition (one where you don't have to spend hours trying to clean up the sand from previous renters). The service is amazing too - based on my preferences the team recommended me a Walden Magic 9.0 and could not have been happier with the choice. AMAZING! Best decision I made for my trip to Kaua'i! I always travel with my boards, but lugging then around can be annoying, not to mention the cost just to get them on the plane and back.
