Also our city guide recommended this place for a cheap and quick bit to eat for lunch. As you walk in there are chairs and a bakery counter but you can also order a hot meal here. I got schnitzel and my husband got some sort of meatloaf. It was pretty solid and tasty and didn't set us back too much cost wise. Apparently this place is popular because a stream of locals came in not long after we ordered and paid. After eating we went in the store to look around because I love to explore grocery stores in other countries I know I might be kind of weird that way. Its well laid out with a pretty nice variety of fresh fruits and veggies. They were also setting up their Christmas candies (advent calendars anyone?) Checking out was quick efficient and pretty quick, they also take credit cards so another plus for that. As we left we stopped by the bakery counter again as I was eying a pretzel as we came in. I ordered on of those and my husband got a cruller which is called something entirely different in German. All in all the bakery counter for the win! If you want some baked goods or some cheap and quick eats I'd certainly check this place out.

So busy people just get their own style salad to go quickly. I also got the feeling they are more choices here, compared to other places. Well, Edeka is not cheap supermarket brand in Germany, so things also cost more here. I like that they even have a bakery inside, which offers some German typical cuisines and a lovely place to sit down and enjoy. Not every supermarket has one, so that's kind of special. The only problem I had when I was there, the internet reception wasn't that great, I could barely use my phone to check something. Usually, I expected such situation underground or something. As long as I left the shop, the network on my phone start to work again.

When this location (formerly a Kaisers) was taken over and converted to a REWE City, I was super…read moredisappointed that they did very little to change it other than swapping out items on the shelves. Then, in October, they closed down for about five weeks to do a massive remodel. The new REWE City has been changed to maximize space and more products have been added. Everything looks fresh and clean, and the aisles aren't as narrow and difficult to maneuver as before. There's even a little food bar! The only downside is the registers; the way you're supposed to line up isn't apparent, so instead of people moving to the next one in line while the person is being checked out, they wait until it's open, thereby slowing down the process and making the line snake along the side of the store. Maybe some signs posted would make this clearer? Or maybe people will figure it out after enough time. Though, this is Germany, so who am I kidding?

I lost 20 minutes in line to find out that I can not pay the card, because cashier had a problem with the terminal, but nothing did with it. Only informed me that I can pay only by cash. The manager could not provide me with a new solution or transfer to another cashier.. Today it was my last time, when I choose REWE.
