Canyoneering is a MUST-DO experience in Cebu, Philippines. This is one of the most popular activities in the country, and this is highly recommended by a few of my swimmer & non swimmer friends. This activity can be intimidating since this can be considered as intermediate to advanced. Booking: we booked via LAAG TRAVEL & TOURS (FACEBOOK/MESSENGER), also available on WhatsApp. The canyoneering tour was a part of the Laag Tour package of 5 days and 4 nights with an additional fee (roughly $40-50 - a bit on the pricier side since we opted for a private tour). Fees: It may vary depending on the time of travel, but estimated additional fee of 2000-2500 PHP (est $40-50 at current exchange rate) for canyoneering & 700-1000 PHP (est $12-20 at current exchange rate) for the zip line option (if the weather permits - highly recommended unless you're up for trekking / hiking activity of additional 30-40 minutes depending on pace & weather) Cash: make sure to have cash on hand for the extra fees, tips, and some sari sari store items in the middle of canyoneering. The area is quite provincial / rural so having cash on hand is highly recommended! A few notes to consider: I am a non swimmer, intermediate level hiker, and mildly-moderately physically active. I was able to overcome the jumps with the help of a guide which is an incredible option! You will get wet so wear comfortable swim wear & bring clothes for changing! The jumps are not all optional. The water shoes they provide are grippy and better than the one I had. They will request for you to change to the provided shoes if the sole is too thin. The whole activity could be 3-4 hours depending on the pace, but it can be longer if you're not physically active. The guides will go at your pace & help you through the process.

The options are vast, going from Boljoon to Oslob. The excursion is in Oslob, but found that this resort was adults only so I took a chance. The resort was absolutely amazing. The check-in, service, room, and adventure options were all superb. They offered many excursion which we took advantage of. We enjoyed a day of whale sharks and Tumalog falls with its magical white water. The pool is simple with a full bar and an expertly crafted food menu that should please most. They even helped coordinate all of our travel for ease of the trip. Between all the resorts we stayed this was by far the best. I would highly recommend this resort, if you're looking to go south of Cebu for whale sharks, and looking for a little Rest and relaxation before and after. The only gripe was that they had no hot water during our visit. This was nothing unusual considering 4 of 5 of our resorts didn't have hot water. Luckily the cold water isn't that cold.

We loved our day with Zero and Mcrich Travel and Tours!…read more We went Canyoneering in Badian. Our guide Zero was super friendly, helpful, and honestly what a gentleman! He made us feel taken care of and ensure that all the proper safety precautions were made. Canyoneering required more hiking than I expected, but Zero took the extra time to make sure we didn't slip and pointed out the best places to walk for sure footing. Also, what a photographer star! Zero had my phone the whole time, and he took the best pictures and videos. We had a blast going through them all on the way back to our hotel. After Canyoneering, they took us back to their office for lunch where we served a homemade Filipino meal. It absolutely hit the spot. My only suggestion for improvement is maybe providing towels in the office when we return. It's a small thing, and I'd still whole heartedly recommend this company to anyone interested in Badian Canyoneering!

My husband and I had an awesome time snorkeling to see the sardines run and closed encounters with…read morethe turtles, kudos to our wonderful and amazing guides, Bonie and Jhonril who were so patient with us, making sure we were able to get up close and see these beautiful creatures. I don't swim but they plainly explained what I needed to do and reassured me. I had a vest on with a life ring and Bonie stayed with me the whole time and made sure I was safe. This was our first time doing this kind of an adventure in our age 60+, this was the highlight of our trip to the Philippines, sardines run in Panagsama Beach, Moalboal. My wife and I did the Sardine run and Turtle adventure…read more The guides took us individually down through the sardines while one of them filmed us from below. The guides were Bonie and Jhonril. They were both so awesome, we got much more attention then the guests from the bigger tours. Not only did we experience the thousands of fish we also viewed a turtle away from the crowds. This was defiantly one of the highlights of our trip to the Philippines.
