Recently stopped in, on a whim, while driving through the area. Used to stop at this one, years…read moreago, and it was wonderful. Just as clean, warm, and inviting as I remember. Maybe more so. I had been in the area to visit a friend, and had some time to kill. So I went in and walked around. Bought some shirts they had where the profits went to no-kill shelters for dogs, got a couple cups, some clearance rack ornaments from previous Christmases, a couple Tervis travel mugs, some cards, and a pretty glass window decoration. The shop is so well laid out and well lit, plus they were playing some fun music of kids singing Halloween/Thanksgiving stuff on their radio. The ladies working there offered to help me a couple times, despite there being a few other customers and them clearly getting ready for the Oct. ornament event, and they were extremely nice while I was checking out. When I told them my Hallmark card had broken and that I needed to use my phone number, the lady pulled up a number for me to call so I could get a replacement card. They also asked me if I had coupons or any punch cards, and they also asked if I wanted to try any of the samples they had out of the chocolates, teas, etc. that they sell there in the shop. It seemed more like a community goodie-shop rather than just another Hallmark shop- which is a good thing! And when I was leaving, I saw one of the clerks helping a woman with the door, since she was on a walker. The employee also offered to put the items the lady wanted, on the front counter, while the lady shopped so she wouldn't have to try to juggle the walker with a cart/basket/arm load of items. I thought it was very nice to see clerks being that observant and helpful. I will be stopping by Every Time that I visit, in the future.

But their concept of having 2-3 customer service desks with 1 cashier each is just ridiculous. I had to return an item I bought online. I stood in line at one location, but had to leave because the cashier had to call the manager about something and told everyone waiting we would be better off going to another desk. Went to another location and stood in line for 10 minutes because the cashier was new and the people in front of me were exchanging items. The cashier said she was told she wouldn't be left alone while training, but here she was. Finally, another cashier came over to help me. And once she saw that I had an online purchase, told me she couldn't help me and I needed to go to the home department. I went to the home department only to encounter another line with no cashier. What should've taken 10 minutes, took about 30. Ridiculous.

Great customer service! After recently shopping here, I accidentally left a bag from another store…read morein my buggy. Because I was traveling I did not realize I had left it until the next day. When I called the store they had found my bag and were holding it for me. When I explained that I live 2 hours away, the manager gladly offered to send me the package. I look forward to stopping at the store when I am in the area again!
