Sure, I've had a massage in Bali that costs all of $12, but spend ten times that at East Day Spa and the experience is elevated to perfection. From the first welcome accompanied by a cup of peppermint tea, to the calming music and beautifully appointment treatment rooms, everything is carefully thought about so you can spend time focussing on being relaxed. A massage here is exceptional, with the therapists obviously holding a high amount of training and experience. Sore legs? They'll spend more time on those when you tell them beforehand. A little knot in your left shoulder? Don't worry, they'll find it and gently knead it out. Don't worry about walking out feeling like an oil slick as they'll use hot towels to remove excess oil before giving you an oil-free face massage. This small attention to detail is what sets more expensive massages apart from cheaper alternatives. And it's not just massage they do well at East Day Spa. I've had facials and pedicures and every time I've walked away feeling relaxed and happy knowing I got exactly what I hoped for. In my eyes, that's money well spent.

The shellac from here was slightly more expensive than I've paid elsewhere. It was $50 for a French manicure, where I've paid $45 for one before. I'm not fazed about spending that money, it was a good service and my nails look and feel great. I was offered a drink when I sat down, which is always a good start. I then looked around to see two TV screens set up for my viewing pleasure. One was playing The Devil Wears Prada, so I could not have been more thrilled. Unfortunately it was a tad quiet but I guess this is a nail salon not a movie theatre. Once the manicure got underway the manicurist, who was the shop manager, started commented on my obvious nail neglect. I don't use a base coat when using polish and so I got a little telling off about that as she could see my nails weren't looking the best. It was good to see her offering advice and showing an interest rather than just flurrying around my nails. It took about 45 minutes and I felt like there was a lot of care being taken to make them look fabulous. Which is what you want when you're paying for a service. I also noticed some great deals advertised on the walls... things like 50% off a massage when getting shellac and things like that. Too bad I didn't have time - I would have loved to be pampered even more.

I made a reservation for a Deluxe Pedicure and a Manicure, however when I arrived they told me I can only do either a standard manicure or a standard pedicure, as there is not enough time for both, not even for the deluxe pedicure. Quite disappointing as I had booked for both. After I had the standard pedicure done, I was then told that the voucher had expired, which was true and I had not realised that the voucher was only valid for 6 months, however, it had only expired 8 days ago! I had given them the voucher an arrival, but they did not tell me at that point that I have to pay for the pedicure and that they won't honour the voucher. If they would have told be at the beginning, I wouldn't have done the pedicure at all. After a lengthy discussion, I ended up paying the additional $35 for the pedicure as they couldn't understand the simple concept of customer service and that they wouldn't lose out on anything, as they had already received $80 for doing nothing. They now have a very upset client who won't return! Rest assured ALL of my friends, family and colleagues, many of whom used to frequent ggamji, will know all about my disappointing experience and I am sure they will no longer be buying gift vouchers from them.

We saw their regular customers being offered a cup of tea while we just sat there with no drinks. I saw other customers who didn't seem to be regulars that also didn't get drinks. We started with a pedicure and it was the most uncomfortable pedicure we've got. The girl who did my friend's put HOT WATER in the tub and nearly burned my friend's feet. The tubs aren't attached to the chair so it kept moving and we had to put our weight on it to keep it steady. Clearly it was not a relaxing time for us. We then moved onto our gel manicure. They seemed to have lots of colour options but they actually didn't have quite a number of them in stock. Best to check with them before picking a colour. The ladies who did mine and my friend's manicure cut our fingers but didn't even apologize for it and didn't put rubbing alcohol to prevent infection. They just proceeded with the rest of procedures with the blood on our fingers... It was also the most expensive manicure we've got for a simple one colour gel manicure. I wouldn't recommend this place to my friends and wouldn't come back here again...

They cover a full range of manicure and pedicure options, and every treatment that I've had has been done to perfection. Even if you just go in for a basic file and polish, they do it so carefully and with absolute precision, and the manicure comes with a killer hand massage. Equal to the results you get is the service. The women working at Sassi are so friendly and polite, and obviously make a real effort to keep the salon looking clean and fresh, and stocked with plenty of new, quality mags (always vital!). The products are OPI-based and they stock a full range of OPI products including Gelcolours and the ever-delicious Avojuice. They also do a mean Shellac and offer all those extensiony fake things too. The prices are at the higher end, but it's superb value for money. Don't forget to pick up a loyalty card when you pay - you'll be back!

It is called a clinic however is not clinic like in any way to me; it's homely, warming, and a soothing escape from the rushing world outside its doors. I was booked in for a bikini wax and my receptionist kindly welcomed me and asked me to fill out a new visitors form; collecting name, phone number, email address, any allergies I may have or medication I may be taking. My wax got under way, and I had a nice chat with the attendant, was all completed in less than twenty minutes. The wax had minimal pain, and was professional and neat. I was given lovely soothing lotion to apply to the area and felt ready for the beach. They sell beautiful Ecoya Candles which I could smell burning at the reception desk. I probably should be writing this in such a public forum, but I've now visited Terra Nova for massage, facials, waxing, IPL, specialist skin treatments and have always been extremely happy with the results. The prices are reasonable and they do a great job of looking after their existing clients.
