I wanted to love this place, but it didn't fully land for me. The flavors are definitely there--the broth is rich and well-developed, and you can tell there's real care put into the food. They even make the udon in-house, which is a cool touch and something you don't see everywhere. That said, it made our stomachs hurt a little after.

Stopped by on a cold Seattle day and this really hit the spot. The ramen was warm, rich, and comforting. Service was friendly and the food came out quickly, which I appreciated. That said, given how hyped this place is, the bowl itself didn't feel especially memorable. Everything was solid and well executed, just nothing that really stood out flavor-wise. Still a great option in Fremont when you're craving something cozy

We got the Chicken Paitan ramen and honestly this is probably the best chicken broth I've had in Seattle. It was way richer and thicker than I expected which was a nice surprise. The noodles were fresh as well. The chashu is sliced pretty thin which is a bit unique but I liked it. We paid $18 for the bowl and the egg is an extra $2 We also split the garlic karaage and it was solid. You get 5 big pieces and they were super juicy. Always a safe bet. Service was fantastic too. The cell reception inside isn't great so the QR code menu wouldn't load for us but the waitress helped us order right away. Great experience overall.

My new fave ramen spot! My usual go-to spot has been super busy with long lines. But this place hits the spot. I love how bright it is in here! Everyone is super friendly. All the ordering is done through your phone; the food come out quick and the workers are helpful. I had the Truffel Shantan and oh my was it yummy! The broth was bold yet light. Just enough of a truffle flavor...sometimes it can be overpowering, but it was subtle yet effective. The pork was thinly sliced, however, I think I prefer a thicker slice. But it was still good. The noodles I prefer more thin and al dente, but again, still good! Curry waffle fries were a hit! Crunchy and seasoned well on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I want to try more of their sides and soups!

So yummy!! I have never had chicken ramen before and I loved it! It has so much flavor and if you like spice get it spicy! They also had a truffle ramen which I thought was unique. Not a truffle girlie though...Our waitress was so nice and helpful with the menu. I liked the dim lighting and multiple seating options.

We ordered the chicken paitan ramen, a regular and a spicy, plus the Spicy Northwest Noble Miso Ramen with Garlic Kara-age. We're so used to tontkotsu broth that having this really rich chicken broth was a surprise. The pork was super tender. The broth was slightly salty but really good. The garlic kara-age was super juicy and tender. Bookmark this spot and would definitely come back! Limited street parking so you may have to drive around to find something.

KAYAVA is not the most authentic ramen place and it is pretty expensive for such small portion size. However, the service is good and accommodating which was a huge plus. SHIO RAMEN - 19 +2 egg I should have asked to remove the red onions from the ramen because that was a bit strange. The broth was light but pretty oily. All the other toppings were just OK and not too memorable. I did really like the texture of the ramen noodles, and it soaked up the broth well. The egg looked really good initially with the blood orange yolk, but it tasted extremely off. It had a waxy, slimy texture that was incredibly unpleasant. Sadly, we didn't love the food, but it was worth trying to find out. Food was 2/5, but bumped it to 3/5 for good service.

We came here for the Seattle Restaurant Week menu and Kayava did not disappoint! The space is bright, modern, and thoughtfully decorated, making it a pleasure to dine in. I got the spicy chicken paitan ramen and it was so delicious. The broth was very thick and m creamy but not too heavy, pairs very well with the thick, chewy noodles. The chili oil has a nice kick, it is not too spicy. Overall it was perfect for a chilly fall day. I got the matcha mochi for dessert, it was light and not too sweet. Service was quick and staff were friendly. I enjoyed dining here and would totally come back!

9.20.2025 Fremont KAYAVA, and while the vibe is welcoming and the staff are super friendly, the ramen itself was also good. The chicken paitan broth was rich and creamy, definitely the highlight, but the spicy pork shoyu felt lighter than expected. Noodles were firm and fresh, which was great, and I appreciated the gluten-free options.

This place was very busy but thankfully we didn't wait long to get a table. They have QR codes to order, food came fast and it was very fresh. The broth was not too salty or rich which I super appreciate. Overall a good experience, parking can be difficult though.

Firm chewy noodles, great broth flavor, good yet simple aromatic oil, and tender toppings. Nothing else I can ask for more in a bowl of ramen! Well crafted. Will definitely be back to try other broths and variations!

Kayava is one of many ramen spots in Fremont, with about eight ramen options priced around $18-$20. I tried the cold Dan Dan noodles and the truffle Shantan ramen. The Dan Dan noodles were the standout--creamy, spicy, and super refreshing for a warm evening. The truffle ramen was solid too, with nice chewy noodles, though the truffle flavor was on the mild side. I went on a weekday evening and while it was busy, there were still open seats. Parking in this area isn't great, but you can usually find something within a 10-minute walk. Overall a solid spot.

I went here for Friday dinner and it was not too busy. I got the chicken paitan ramen with egg add on and later the kaedama (extra noodles). The ramen came fairly quickly after ordering from the QR code. The broth is very rich in chicken flavor and it's fairly hearty, even though the amount of soup is not as much as other ramen spots. It is a bit on the saltier side. The ramen is cooked to a nice al dente, for both the first bowl and the extra noodles. The egg is a bit interesting as it is poached, not the soy sauce egg you would usually find in ramen places, and the yolk is a bit overcooked, so I wasn't really a big fan of that. Service is good for water refills, but I wish they could improve on being more present. I sat at a table which that section has a small low divider separating from the bar, and the servers seem to be on the phone and talking to other servers for a good chunk of time without focusing on the customers. This was a slight miss that causes delays in the dining experience. Otherwise, the ramen here is good but did not stand out. Prices are fair, a bit higher than the usual, but quality somewhat matches the price.

However, we arrived just before 10p on a Monday night and the line was down the street. We waited an hour and ended up not getting in due to seating ending at 10:45p. The hostess would check in periodically, and up to the last 15 mins said we had a 50/50 shot of getting seated. The alternative was to get take-out. There were a couple other groups also in the same boat. Overall, the wait time after submitting our take-out order was around 15 mins for 2 ramen. We ordered the classic ramen, extra spicy, and I added an egg to mine. On the card you use to select your order, you can choose the type of noodle, richness of broth, spice level, add-ins, and beverages. There is a separate vegan menu with lots of options to choose from. The ramen was delicious. The broth was rich and full of flavor and the noodles were cooked just right. The meat was tender and egg was perfectly jammy. I get the hype, but I wouldn't go after 9p again for my own sanity and time.

Ramen Danbo in Capitol Hill has a simple but focused setup that puts most of the attention on the…read moreramen itself. We walked into a casual, compact space with a mix of counter and table seating that fits the quick ramen shop style. The interior is efficient and well organized, though it can get extremely busy, and the wait times are often one of the biggest parts of the experience, especially during peak hours. Once seated, the space feels functional and comfortable, designed around getting a bowl of ramen in front of you without unnecessary distractions. The ramen is built around rich tonkotsu broth with a lot of customization options. We appreciated the ability to adjust things like noodle firmness, richness, and spice level, which made each bowl feel more personalized. The regular tonkotsu ramen stood out for its deep umami flavor without feeling overly heavy, and the noodles had a great texture that held up well against the broth. The vegan options also stand out, including miso-based bowls with flavorful broths that give non-pork options more depth than many ramen shops offer. The toppings are generous, and the soft-boiled egg was cooked to that perfect jammy consistency. Beyond ramen, the menu has a few sides that complement the meal well, including gyoza that came out crisp and well filled. We also grabbed mochi ice cream for something sweet afterward, a light finish after the rich broth. The seasonal ramen options are worth checking out since they add variety beyond the standard bowls, giving regular visitors a reason to come back and try something new. Service is generally quick and friendly, especially considering how busy the restaurant gets. The ordering system is straightforward, and the staff handles the constant flow of customers efficiently. The team kept the pace moving without making the experience feel rushed, and they were attentive to refilling water and checking in on the table. The biggest downside is the popularity, since the lines can sometimes feel long for a relatively quick meal, but the wait tends to move faster than expected given the efficient turnover. Ramen Danbo is a reliable spot for a satisfying bowl of ramen in Seattle. The customizable bowls, strong broth, and consistent noodle quality make it a place worth visiting, although planning around busy hours can make the experience much better. The balance of customization and quality means you can dial in your bowl exactly how you like it, and the focused approach to the menu keeps the attention where it belongs.

Upon entering the restaurant, all the tables were occupied, and we were told to wait a few minutes before being seated. We only ended up waiting about 5 minutes. The menu was very informative and provided a definition of what aburasoba is. There were also directions at the bottom of the menu explaining how to eat your ramen. Since it was our first time here, we started off with a peach lemonade soda. My boyfriend chose the No. 1, Homura, and I chose the No. 2, Pot Roast. We both ordered a raw egg on top and a side of chashu pork. We wanted to order the onigiri, but unfortunately, they were all out. After about 5 minutes, our food arrived! The presentation was lovely. The waiter might not understand English which is fine (he was also not Japanese or Korean so I couldn't use those as a fallback languages). As when we ordered the Yuzu Karaage, the Kinoko Aburasoba, Homura Aburasoba and the Peach Lemonade. He acknowledged the Homura Aburasoba order as he vocally said "okay" after each item; including the lemonade, was ordered. But apparently never actually put it on the PDA. It wasn't until waiting around for about 15 minutes *after* all of the other food had been delivered, that I could finally flag down a different waiter as the one who had taken my order was taking an interesting path that would never cross ours -- we were seated next to the front desk -- and ask when my Homura Aburasoba was coming in, mentioned it was never ordered, the second waiter who placed the late order was prompt and I see hear him mention that the Homura Aburasoba needed to be made, as it was an order that was missing from my table. When it did come, it was delicious. The Yuzu karaage was delicious, however the taste of yuzu was absent. It was just daikon and green onion and lemon (I did not squeeze the lemon in so I could experience the yuzu -- which was missing). I just mixed it directly into my Homura Aburasoba instead and coated it with the tantan. I think the place might need to work on communication/consistency, with how they are delivering/relaying orders. Don't get me wrong, the food was still delicious, but inconsistent with the service and delivery. It was also not busy at all, as we were seated immediately, so the staff was not overworked, and it was not during a lunch/dinner rush. Service, mistakes, and inconsistency of delivery of the full items rounded it down to a 3-star. tl;dr delicious food, service and delivery need improvement.
