This worked well for our family since some of my siblings are out of town. The only thing we brought with us were flowers for the tables. No clean up! We were able to stream music of our choice on their equipment. The venue was clean and was decorated great! My wife and myself have attended many weddings both in town and out of town at some very special places. I can tell you this space was among the best. It was an exceptionally brilliant idea. The place has a phenomenal staff (especially Opie). They were welcoming, personable and knowledgeable. They had a deep experience with wines that helped guide the experienced wine drinkers and an empathetic approach to those (aka, me) who were clueless. I (ahm, the inexperienced) were never intimidated or given the snob treatment. However, my brother who knows his way around a bottle or two (or at least actively tries to fake it) was given the appropriate insights to what he was drinking. Across the ten of us, we tried multiple different wines and they were all well liked. Many made their way home as people had to take some bottles home. You can tell that I'm an amateur because the whole "flight of wines" thing was new to me. It was brilliant to sample many different varieties in what I would call shooters to the great disappointment of my brother. Yeah, I told you he acted like he knew what he was doing. They also gave us a brief tour of the beautiful grounds as well as a look "behind the scenes". I would really recommend visiting in the fall and maybe seeing things in action. The drive is a bit "way back there", but I highly encourage you to take the trip. It's definitely worth it.

As…read morethe forecast grew more and more grim for that day, we had to make the decision to change venues three days before the wedding. I came across The Barn at Cornerstone and contacted Kim immediately. I was stressed and in full panic mode but as soon as I talked to her she began putting me at ease. She explained that although the Barn was not quite completed she would do anything in her power to help make this work. The day I visited her, the barn had no electricity. We talked through it and decided to rent a generator. The barn was still in progress but was already beautiful and rustic and I could envision something truly special there. Kim and her husband, Ray, worked tirelessly and two days later when we arrived to decorate and rehearse, the Barn not only had electricity but beautiful chandeliers were hung. We had a wonderful rehearsal dinner outdoors at the lodge that evening. The setting was gorgeous and the grounds were lovely. Ray continued working on the barn up until the afternoon of the wedding and Kim attended to every detail and also coordinated with my caterer. She took so much work and worry off my hands and allowed me to enjoy every moment. We ended up having the most beautiful, intimate wedding that evening. Rain fell heavy on the roof of the barn as they took their vows. It was absolutely magical. I know that once the barn is complete it will be one of the best venues around. There are beautiful venues everywhere but you will be hard pressed to find people like Kim and Ray. I cannot express my gratitude enough.

There's a 15 minute video in a super comfortable theater that gives you the background of the museum. There was a gentleman that works there that was chatting before the film and he was a wealth of knowledge. There's a great store with some treasures and a special exhibit area. And an absolute must see if you come in for the rhythm and roots reunion. Easy to find handy parking. The museum is on two floors. There were plenty of volunteers present to answer questions. Many had their own personal stories, which was great. The entire collection is well curated and very well produced. I found it to be absolutely fantastic. I grew up on Bluegrass and country music and knew a lot of the history already, but it was really interesting to see the instruments and hear the first recordings of the Bristol sessions. Just a fantastic place. They do have a small gift shop downstairs that sells various items a lot made by local artisans. Everything was pretty appropriately priced. If you were coming in the Bristol, this is a must see.
