I would caution against using the student therapists for any major, serious issues. Taylor Corso was friendly enough that I convinced myself she was helpful. However, she rarely actually did anything other than ask about my week and how I feel. She never stuck to any new "tool" or "method" we would try. I would do everything she asked of me, from filling out busywork to doing walks to talking to people I didn't want to. I even voluntarily surrendered to my greatest fear of being locked up in a hospital. She gave me her number and told me not to call hotlines because they would leave me on hold. But she would ignore almost every call or text made until I stopped even trying. After a week or two of any approach she'd give up, only to months later accuse me of "never really trying" to improve. She would also complain about my negativity and low self esteem, only to tell me all my problems are my fault and if I only tried harder I would be fine. For context, much of my issues regarded depression, incurable medical issues, and the death of my father. But she consistently framed things as my fault. Despite all this, I stuck with her for three years because I appreciated her being candid and friendly. What most therapists wouldn't do for fear of being unprofessional, she was fine with. She'd call us friends, joke around with me, she'd even said if I didn't want to work on improvement I could just vent and talk to her once a week. But then, in the first few minutes of my last session, she told me she wouldn't work with me anymore. No prior discussion had been had, and very little explanation was offered. She sent a list of names I don't know and offered one single session to process. And when my car broke down, she refused to reschedule that session, and only assured me she'd done her due diligence. When I asked if I'd done something wrong, she told me I hadn't. She'd just snubbed me for no reason I guess. I can't imagine this is the best way to handle that situation for any therapist. But for one I've seen for three years and always spoke to me candidly, I was especially surprised at such a curt and cold snubbing. My husband and I recently retired and moved to Las Vegas. We thought we would look for a therapist to help navigate being together 24/7 and enlist some help with my alcohol related issues. I am newly sober and was happy to have found Debora Tretiak was certified in addiction as well as a marriage therapist. On our first visit she saw both of us. We expressed our needs and we proceeded forward. She wanted to meet with us individually to which we agreed. I came first to the individual. I did all the talking the whole time and she expressed that I had a lot to unpack and needed more individual sessions. As she walked me out she complimented me on staying sober. Next was my husband's turn which happened to be my 60 days of sobriety. We were very excited and heading to lunch and a meeting to get my chip. When my husband was finished his session he said "she looked at me and said you know she's going to drink again right?!" I was utterly deflated and began to cry. I started looking into a therapist for my son. Kayenta was the first that popped up. Kayenta Legacy offers $25 counseling sessions with a student intern. Driving by, it's hard to spot but they're right behind the Walgreens on Lake Mead and Del Webb. Saturday was the first day of therapy. We met with Claire Wertz. Her card says she offers marriage and family therapy. She was extremely nice and explained the process thoroughly. We will be coming in once a week to meet with her. Im currently involved in a divorce case involving custody for my minor children. Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] was chosen as the therapist to interview my three children, the results of the report from the interview would ultimately determine whom would receive custody. Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] conducted the interviews, she interviewed my 16 yr old alone and she interviewed my 11 yr old daughters simultaneously with their mother in the room. How can my children give honest answers with their mother sitting in the room. Im a father that lives out of state, therefore impartiality was a concern. My daughters later told me that their mother was present in the room, Dad was not given notice of this by Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones]. After the interviews, I was able to talk with my 16 year old, and he remember the therapist [Luciana Jones] was co workers with his mother when he was younger. He went on to say that he has visited her home with his mother when he was younger, he also remember her being present at my daughters baby shower. Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] was later questioned by myself through email, and Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] accused me of making up stories and telling her how to do her job. I informed Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] that a formal complaint would be filed, she then admitted to knowing the mother for over 9 years. She went on to bill me for the 3 interviews, charging me by the hour (150$) even though she conducted two interviews simultaneously, and the interviews did not last a complete two hours as she previously said they would. At the next Court date I informed the judge, of Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] actions. Mom admitted to the judge that she met Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] at a baby shower nine years ago. The Judge ruled that the court will not consider Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] report. I filed a formal complaint against Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] in January of 2020. Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] along with the mother went on to schedule several more therapy sessions with my oldest son. Im responsible for half the cost, therefore Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] ran up the bill and i was forced by the judge to pay my portion. The bill from Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] was almost $800. I paid the bill to comply with court orders. Im seeking reimbursement at trial. The actions of Kayenta Therapy [Luciana Jones] violated several NRS codes. NRS 641A. 310: 6. Committing an ethical practices contrary to the interest of the public as determined by the board. 7. Unprofessional conduct as determined by the board Negligence, fraud or deception in connection with services he or she is licensed to provide pursuant to the chapter. read more

Renee and I have been seeing a counselor here for a couple months. I'll admit I'm not a fan of counseling but if they were all like Ms Berry I would be. She is very good at what age does. There is never a prediction of what counseling will produce, but we both agree that it's helping us both make changes. The therapists are polite, and professional. We are seeing Jamelle Berry, and I love her. When I called they asked some questions about what exactly the issues were, and some lifestyle, and timing questions, then had Jamelle call me to confirm we were a fit. She is exactly what I wanted, and Kayenta offers $25 appointments if you are willing to see student counselors. I'm very glad we made the decision to try. The counselors have several doctors they work under, and all of them fit our situation perfectly, as well. The receptionist and reception areas are both extremely nice, comfortable and clean. She is absolutely awesome! I always feel better after a session with her and she's helping me work on myself. The Kayenta offices are very clean and welcoming. If it was possible to give them negative stars I would!! Today I had an appointment with a new therapist to start EMDR. I arrived with my service dog in training, in her vest. I filled out my paperwork and sat and waited, and waited and waited. About 35 minutes after my scheduled appointment, the therapist came out and said that we had an issue to deal with and she was unsure if she could see me. She said that I did not let her know that I was bringing my dog. I just looked at her and said what? She said my dog. I said you mean my service dog. She actually said, you mean your Emotional Support Dog. I again said, No, my service dog in training. I am going to classes with her and we are training together as is required by law. I told her that I am not required to tell her that I have a service dog when I make any appointments. She said that since she is a student she needed to discuss this with her supervisor. I said there was nothing to discuss. She went in the back and I sat back down. Ten minutes later she came back out with her supervisor who again called Sydney my emotional support dog. I again corrected them and said she is my service dog in training. He said that she is not a service dog. I said in the state of Nevada by law she is treated the same as service dogs, there is no differentiation. They asked why I needed a dog. I then informed them that they were breaking multiple laws. They can't ask why I need a dog. They can only ask what she is trained to do. They also can't ask if she is a service dog by Nevada law. I told her what she is training to learn. They again called her an emotional support dog. I said no. Emotional support dogs do not require training. I told them where we are enrolled in a service dog training program at and I was now in tears. I told them they violated my rights. They said they were sorry and offered to reschedule once we got this all worked out. I told them how difficult it was for me to come today as I am afraid to leave my home by myself and my husband was out of town today. I am not going back as there was nothing to work out. I got home and called my first therapist and let her know what happened. She gave me a new referral for EMDR and said she will not longer be referring to this office. read more

I will never forget the day we first spoke on the phone, nor the day we met for our first session. That first session was the beginning of a journey that would change my life forever. I still visit Ms. Lindsay today and she is an incredible therapist. Ms. Lindsay also heads the Lifestyle Transformation Program, of which I have had the pleasure of attending. It is a program for people with compulsive eating issues. The format of the program begins with a 6 week long classroom style seminar, where clients learn about food addiction, its origins in one's life, and how various management tools learned in the program can help manage food addiction, compulsive and/or unhealthy eating habits and how the benefits of exercise and a change in your overall food selection can prolong your life. There are a series of workbooks that help clients explore the subject of food addiction, and these workbooks become a valuable resource for learning how you came to become a compulsive eater. The rest of the program - which in all runs about 18 months and can be repeated as many times as you like - is a group format, which involves getting together every week to discuss workbook assignments and support one another with regard to daily struggles and victories over compulsive eating. I have contacted 3 different therapists at this facility and haven't received a response from any of them. I called today to find out approx. how long I need to wait to get a response from anyone and was told generally 3 days. They then tried sending me to a clinic or hospital. If you are in desperate need of help, I would recommend that you locate another facility because these people obviously don't care. read more
