    Spicy Tuna Roll

Dropped in here for a quick bite. It's been awhile since I've eaten here and forgot about their BYOB policy which is pretty cool. The bad side was empty so I chose to sit there as a single so that other parties could use the booths. You can see the chefs cut and make your dish right in front of you. Next time I'll have to bring my mini cooler and spend more time!

Pathetic $21 poke bowl. There is supposed to be 2 different pokes. Can you see 2? ‍

First service was excellent. Two stars are for the food. Poke bowl was pathetic. For $21 it was NOT worth it! The poke served was substandard and portion was small. The vegetable tempura was burnt and it tasted burnt too. I swear it was leftovers. The shrimp tempura was excellent. Unfortunately the batter used for the vegetables was different. Vegetables rubbery. Pre Covid this place was awesome but now it's not worth the $230 we spent for lunch! The Karaage was dry and hard and tasted more like Mochiko. Informed the server and all she could say was sorry. The sushi chefs gave no smiles or conversations which made the experience worse and no it was not busy. Never going back and hope your food was way better and cost less than $230 not including tip!

OK! so I've been living under a rock! What can I say? Everyone else I know dined here before and it goes back YEARS.. My visit last week was my absolute FIRST visit to this neat great establishment. Seared salmon nigiri (seared to perfection), vegetable tempura (deep fried to perfection with a fantastic light batter), soft shell crag (best dish, I ate the entire crab... I usually pick at it) and chawan mushi ( steamed to perfection) Yup, if you're on the west side, Kapolei to be exact, go here or be square! Please don't me like me and take a lifetime to get and dine there! Easy on and off the freeway. Close to Costco and Home Depot Kapolei.

Ended up here because our original plan to grab McRib's failed since the island wasn't a location to enjoy or bring back the McRib at this time; McRib was one of my late Goddaughters' favorites; we were on the island celebrating her heavenly 20th birthday trying to enjoy all her favorite things that day. 10/25/24. At Kazoku around 12 Noon, there is friendly staff, good sushi & got seated right away! Nice find in a bind! Parking's a bit tight.

Passing on the cost of staffing to your customers is diabolical. Especially since we didn't order anything from the kitchen. I asked about the charge and I was told it goes on all the checks. The food become just ok... they used to be great however it's declined drastically over the past couple years. The restaurant is clean , nothing really notable. I no longer go out of my way to come here. They also need to update the hours of operation.

Small sushi restaurant in Kapolei. Very clean. Most of the seats surround the chefs. So of course we were watching them make everyone's food. The soba was refreshing and light. Dipping Sauce was delish! Tempura was crispy and not overcooked. My husband really enjoyed the omakase. We weren't exactly sure what types of fish were used. But he ate um all, so musta been good! Service can get a little slow with a full restaurant. But both servers were very polite. Bench seats, next to the bar, are tight. Ok for 4 SKINNY people or 2 regular people lol

Service is good. Food is delicious. Prices are steep but food quality is good. Ambience is chill.

Do they still do conveyor belt sushi?

The last time I dined-in was Jan 2023 and conveyer belt wasn't used. I think they stopped it since COVID?

Hi do they have all you can eat available still or no?

No, last i went they do not have all you can eat. I "believe" they stopped AYCE when they reopened after the Covid lockdown in 2020, to my knowledge it was never brought back:(…

Does Kazoku still give Military and Senior discounts in 2021?

    Yes

Anybody know if they are still doing AYCE during this time?

    No for sure

Is there a all you can eat sushi?

Yes but idk about ayce during COVID

Do they serve alcohol? If not can you bring your own?

No, they do not. But you can BYOB!

I see days, but are there times for the AYCE? update 8/15/2018 - just left there. AYCE is 5-8 Sun-Thurs

    11am-8pm Sunday through Thursday's

They checked on us regularly and the table was never empty of food or dink until we were done. Quality of the fish is what I expected on the island-FRESH, vibrant color and so ono. Sushi is my favorite so if I'm hungry, I could finish two salmon party plates. My husband splurged and got the premium nigiri set. He was nice enough to give me his uni nigiri and I inhaled that in .2 two seconds. We also got the kumbo tempura. We love that the place has a belt. You can also have minimal person free experience with it. Everything is done on the touchpad so you don't really have to talk to anyone if you don't have special requests. I assume this is how some places do it in Japan, which is very efficient. You do only get one wasabi container until you have to pay for More I believe. But you can tell the wasabi is good quality as well. For their traffic and wait-time, I believe the service is good. You think you're getting a good deal by going AYCE, but don't let the Ala carte pictures fool you. The quality and what you get is TOTALLY different in the AYCE. They cut corners and give you what appears to be the leftover pieces for the AYCE. They specifically have a policy on wasted rice to be charged at $35/lbs. Makes sense cuz they put so much extra rice to make you extra full. Just fyi, that's 2 people's orders. When they say 3 limit order per person, they mean, 3 pieces of nigiri. I've never been to an AYCE that was so stingy.
