I went here for lunch during the week. First of all the exterior looks shady, but the interior is very nicely decorated. The ambiance is great. The service was prompt. I also really enjoyed the complimentary miso soup, edamame (about a cup's worth), and small scoop of plum ice cream. It really rounded out my meal! I had a spicy tuna roll, a specialty roll, and a house salad. The rolls were good - the fish tasted fresh, and the ingredients melded well together. Definitely skip the house salad - the dressing isn't as good as I've had at other Japanese restaurants, and it was just plain iceberg lettuce. This is one of my favorite sushi places in Tucson. From appetizers their Grilled Squid is really nice, tender and sweet goodness, my mouth is watering now while I'm even thinking about it. Their gyozo is pretty good and try their crunchy rolls. The other reason I like this place is that they are open from 11 am to 9 pm. so they are open from 2 to 5 unlike other sushi places. read more

This was a treat. The Miso Soup was some of the tastiest that I have every had and the ice cream was just right to end the meal. (Both are included with your order). The chef was Korean and was very friendly, knowlegdable generous. The restaurant has a small offering of Korean dishes including bulgogi, I guess in honor of the Chef's homeland. This rating is purely due to the service. I love love love Kazuko but recently they have been incredibly slow slow slow. The owner is very friendly but they seem to be understaffed. Unfortunately I did not have a good dining experience here. Visiting from out of state, I was craving sushi and honestly did not have high expectations but boy did they manage to trip over my extremely low expectations. I ordered the nigiri/roll combo for $27. Chef choice of 10 pieces of nigiri with California roll and spicy tuna roll. You would assume 10 piece nigiri for $27 would have a variety of different sushi. Nope! Despite having a long list of nigiri sushi ala carte to select from....I received and same sushi 5 times. 2 pieces tuna, 2 pieces yellowtail, 2 pieces salmon and 2 pieces of shrimp. What a rip off. In addition, the quality of the fish was inferior to those you find at an all you can eat sushi joint in Vegas. What a joke! read more

This place is fantastic. I don't like sushi, so I get their chicken teriyaki. Comes sizzling to your table and they are willing to pull out the vegetables from their vegetable mix that I do not like. Great taste, decent portion, and tastes fresh. My wife loves the sushi so much that I cannot try out anything new in town, if that paints a picture. Not great. Had better sushi in Tucson. Waitress didn't really know anything about sushi. I asked to customize a sushi roll on the menu and she said she didn't want to ask because the sushi man was mad and she walked away. Great service (not). I can't believe she didn't ask. In top of that the tempura had absolutely NO taste at all. My hubby got chicken katsu and it wasn't good. The teriyaki chicken was alright, the sauce was on point. Gyoza had a weird after taste. It was our first visit and it was so good we want to become regulars. The sushi was excellent and the service first class. The sushi menu offered the usual standards plus creative special rolls. We tried lots of both -- enough for leftovers the next day -- and all were delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Great service, lovely people. Sat at the sushi bar and ordered gorgeous edible art all night. The halibut tasted like butter and the tuna was divine. The fish here is by far fresher and of better quality than other places in town. The seaweed salad was perfectly seasoned with just enough rice vinegar and the cucumbers were a treat!
