Plus, there's a show called KC Currents which is actually really classy.

Bring Afentra back…read more In an era where companies are increasingly focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, the syndicated Elliot show in the morning reeks of the same old tired, somewhat scripted, masculine focused, Joe Dirt style rhetoric, that is frankly a little uncreative and boring. Tuned in this morning to hear what might be described as an old school Porky's locker room talk about "rub and tugs" going on at a new, local (not KC mind you, this show is ported out of a more major metropolitan area, likely east coast) massage parlor. While Elliot drones on over his colleagues and makes easy, targeted "jokes" (nothing is *that* funny) about the clientele, nearby school, and the female staff at this establishment, one can't help but be just outright bored at the same knock-off style humor from the early morning DJs of the world. I personally am somewhat entertained by Howard Stern, but we already have a homegrown version of this - his name is Johnny Dare and he is a long times success on the competitor 98.9 The Rock. These guys have their built in audience of middle aged, hair band loving dudes, listening from construction sites around the city. Elliot's show where he dominates 90% of the conversation, often talking over his two cohosts, just rings of boredom and unoriginality and plain laziness by the executives running the station. We have the female version of this genre - her name is Afentra. I, like many other radio listeners, were delighted when she and her equally talented husband Lazlo were brought back locally from Seattle, where they were originally lured (with hefty raises, no doubt) away from the Kansas City market years ago. When listening to her show, she not only shares the spotlight to have an actual conversation with her cohosts, there is no question she is sharing original and thoughtful content. There is nothing about the Elliot show in the morning that makes me want to tune in again - absolutely nothing. It's a complete insult to my intelligence - I actually like the originality of the music on this station and happen to love Slimfast and Lazlo's afternoon broadcast. One can only hope that today's male executives that certainly roam the halls of the station's ownership are eventually replaced by an actual diverse group of thought leaders and that they BRING BACK AFENTRA.

I love listening to Lazlo, Slimfast and Snowcone on their talk show. Unfortunately I work in the…read moreafternoons but my thirty minute drive to and from work is made so much more enjoyable by the podcasts! I may not be as complementary as Ronald Penis is but these guys are pretty awesome! If you're not a dick, you can take a joke, you don't blindly bow to white supremacy and you have a slightly indescribable uneasy feeling about Mr. Rogers ...boy is this the podcast for you!
