It was almost full which should not be surprising given it's prime real estate on Pitt Street just down the road from the Pitt Street Mall. We walked in and luckily found a table. We served very quickly despite the bar being quite busy. I ordered Jack's Burger - Angus beef patty, American cheese, onion jam, lettuce, house pickle, tomato relish, American mustard & a brioche bun $15 Onion Rings w/ spicy mayo $3.5 Hmmmmm The burger was okay... Not $15 okay though. The beef was moist and kind of tasted like it was steamed and then quickly fired over the grill to give it grill marks. The beef was moist, kind of like it was steamed but did not have a particularly beefy taste. The combination of flavours from the other ingredients was in the classic cheeseburger style. The onion rings had a good texture and the onions were sweet and soft inside. They were not seasoned but that was easily fixed. The spicy mayo wasn't exciting but added a lil flavour to the rings. My respectable colleagues ordered the following. Note: due to the nature of our work I will not mention their names... Office Worker 1 South of the Border - Southern spiced chicken breast, maple bacon, guacamole, sriracha, sour cream, tomato, Spanish onion & salsa & a brioche bun $15 He thought this was okay. Nothing to write home about and was concerned at the pink colour of the chicken. He called over one of the waitresses who indicated it had been sous-vide for 8 hours which is why it was colour. She said it with a smile so i don't think she was trying to kill him... Office Worker 2 Baa Baa Burger - 8 hour slow braised lamb shoulder with tzatziki, olive tapenade, tomato, cucumber, Spanish onion, rosemary roast potatoes & a brioche bun $15 Worker 2 was not particularly impressed with the burger. Looking at the lamb it seemed a little too dry for something that had been slow cooked for 8 hours. He didn't really have much to say and looked at me strangle as I took pics of all the food. Office Worker 3 Falafel Salad - Falafel served on a bed of rocket with haloumi and roast field mushrooms $15 Fries with aioli $2.5 Enjoyed the falafel but wasn't a fan of the salad. Looking at it all the proportions looked off considering what looked like a whole lettuce in the bowl. We all enjoyed the chips but ended up in deep conversation about the difference between mayo and garlic. We all agreed the service was good and the place looked quite good and would probably be a good place to go for a few drinks after work. The food needs more work on it. I feel they have adopted a cooking style out of convenience rather than looking actually improving the flavour of the dish using the sous--vide technique to have everything ready ahead of schedule which is good to get food out quickly to hungry diners, but in this instance I don't think it worked. Don't be put off by the fast food appearance. It's a no frills take away shop with only a couple seats at the counter or in front of the window, and is not pretending otherwise. I had the Troppo Mona chicken burger, stacked with grilled pineapple and bacon. I ordered it as a combo with small chips and a drink for only $11.50. I had fully intended on getting that baby home and devouring in the comfort of my living room like a classy girl does, but there was no hope. The delicious chicken aroma wafting from the bag was like a capturing fog that demanded I park and scarf right then and there. And so I did, and let me tell you; it was pretty darn remarkable. On less hung over and more sensible days, I tend to order a quarter flame grilled chicken ($5.20) and one of their fresh salads (around $5.50). Just don't get the tandoori chicken / avocado salad unless you have wolverine teeth. Never have I met a skinny strip of chicken so hard to chomp.

If you wanted something else then bad luck. Went in at lunch time yesterday and asked for a quater chicken pack and they had no BBQ chickens cooked. I pointed out to the staff member that your store is called Chickens Plus, not Chickens Minus. Seems they only care about making burgers and chips now.

No serviettes readily available for eat-in patrons and I had to go back and wait a few minutes to ask for sauce for our chips, these things may sound minor but it could all be easily fixed for a perfect dining experience.
