Major Problems with Maintenance I really like this community and my neighbors. They all are friendly, thoughtful and kind. Our current office team is great! Our new manager, Amber, has implemented major exterior improvements and the buildings look wonderful!!! The only negative, here at Keenland Crest Apartments, is maintenance. They schedule times, then do not show up. They do not email, do not call, or reschedule. Instead, maint. marks off workorders as completed, even though no one came. This has happened to me several times, and again today. Today is my 4th no show for a broken dishwasher. Workorder was placed in Sept., next week is Dec. Major appliances take 3-4 months to get repaired and/or replaced. The replacement appliances are old ones from old apts. in need of renovation. These old appliances come with their own set of problems. Last year, my refrigerator kept shutting down. I had to buy ice and use a large cooler. It took 3+ months to get it repaired 3X. It would run 2-7 days then stop. During those 3 months I lost well over $300.00 worth of food. I informed them my food was rotting, but still they would not provide a working frig, nor replace the rotten food. On month 4 the frig was replaced with an OLD one...with problems. It had not been cleaned, and was filthy inside and out. The bottom was covered with dried on sludge and rotted food. When I shut the frig door, the freezer door would pop open, and stay open causing food to thaw. I kept it rather than deal with maint. again. I try to remember to close both doors each time it's opened. It would be an enormous improvement to get a maintenance manager who could organize and complete work orders, timely and correctly. It would also free the office team from having to deal with maint. issues such as no shows, calls regarding incorrect or incomplete repairs, and especially walk-in complaints (while potential tenants are visiting or reviewing their new leases). Amber is the best manager we've had. She and the office team have made several great improvements and continue to do so. It would be nice for them to have a maintenance manager they could count on. read more

Apartment Review I would strongly advise anyone considering living here to think twice. From the moment I moved in, my apartment had a constant cigarette smoke smell even though I've never smoked. It was bad enough that guests regularly commented on it, and it ended up making my clothes, furniture, and personal belongings smell like smoke as well. It was honestly embarrassing to have people over. I reported this issue multiple times and tried everything on my end to fix it (air purifiers, ventilation, etc.), but nothing worked. Management's "solution" was to offer me a transfer to another unit which also smelled like smoke and was in worse condition. No real effort was made to actually fix the problem in my unit. After pushing for help, they eventually said they would send professional cleaners and asked for my availability. I provided multiple dates... and then nothing ever happened. No follow-up, no communication, just completely ignored. On top of that, I went an entire month without a working fridge. After attempts to repair it was made, maintenance offered to replace it with a fridge from an unoccupied unit, and then came back hours later saying he's actually not allowed to do that. Promised me I'd have a new one by end of week, but that didn't happen at all. During that time, I lost groceries I had already paid for and had no way to properly store food. I was forced to either eat out constantly, which gets expensive very quickly, or rely on canned and non-perishable food just to get by. That's not a reasonable way to live, especially when you're paying full rent. There was no urgency shown to fix this or make things right. But when it comes to rent, suddenly they are extremely strict. Any responses to emails or phone calls takes reaching out about it many times, trying to reach corporate, and do whatever else until someone finally responds just to basically tell you nicely they aren't going to do anything about it. So to sum it up: - Ongoing unresolved cigarette smoke issue affecting my living conditions and belongings - Empty promises from management with zero follow-through - Went a month without a fridge, lost groceries, and had to spend extra money just to eat - Poor communication unless it involves collecting money - No flexibility or understanding, even in legitimate situations At this point, I've decided not to renew my lease and will be leaving as soon as possible. This has easily been one of the most frustrating rental experiences I've had. If you're expecting responsive management or a clean, comfortable living environment, you may want to look elsewhere. The irony in all of this is they will respond to this review in a timely manner with a generic reply about how sorry they are about my experience and to reach out with any issues, but we both know they won't respond or help if I did that. read more

It was awful living here. I was the victim of crime more than once. When I asked the staff to help they did nothing but try to explain why they are not liable for any of it. They have a social media page and the person running their leasing team commonly says that "crime has no address." My counter argument is that crime has a very commonly visited address at Keeneland Crest. Stay away from this place. It is unfit for Adults and children alike. There was a car alarm that went off for 3 nights straight. I complained every day, until I threatened to file suit nothing happened. On my last day in this hell hole my truck was keyed. My experience at Keeneland Crest is the worst living experience I have had so far. It's a pretty property and basically good neighborhood, but it doesn't come close to making up for how poor the management team is. We have had nothing but negative experiences every time we have dealt with management/the office. The maintenance team is nice from what we can tell, but they are slow and do not seem to accomplish much. We had standing water in our washing machine for over two months. We have a mold allergy in our family, so it was not something we could take care of ourselves, but Keeneland showed no interest or urgency to take care of a situation that was actually dangerous for us. The fire alarm in the common hallway has been out for three months and has still not been fixed. The door for the casing is still hanging open. When the battery started making noise because it was going out, rather than fixing it, they just unplugged the fire alarm and left it. Anyone can walk in off the street and access your apartment unit door; there are no locks or means to keep intruders out of the buildings. They have lied to us multiple times, ignore maintenance requests, always look for excuses and ways to get out of helping you when you reach out for assistance, fail to enforce their own rules, and refuse to take responsibility for the issues the community faces. The last straw is the recent appearance of roaches. We can't get out of here fast enough. This place will not get better without new management. There is a deep cultural issue with the office and management company that runs this community. If you have any other options on the table, it would be best to try them before moving to Keeneland. read more

!!!!!PLEASE READ!!!!! Absolutely do NOT move to Keeneland Crest Apartments. They will steal your money, please listen to the other reviews and don't make the same mistake I did by not taking their word for how terrible it is here. Maintenance is a joke, they only care about fixing things that are going to cause damage to their property. I lived there for 2 years and had to get out of there because they are so money hungry and only care about their next check. The office people are all rude and if you get lucky and they actually answer, you will regret it. They are so impatient and don't care about their residents at all. We had a multitude of problems that Keeneland Crest neglected to fix for months at a time. My dishwasher stopped working in January after it almost caught on fire. I put in a service request and a month went by and I hadn't heard from them at all. I called a few times and each time they said they would be over to fix it soon. At this point my dishwasher started growing black mold and was making my roommates and myself sick. Months went by and I put in another service request, still nothing done at this point. (they knew about the black mold the whole time) I finally put in a third service request and they came and said they'd be back with a new dishwasher in a couple of days. I finally threatened to call the health department because I was fed up. More weeks went by before we finally got our new dishwasher. We have had multiple pest issues. We had cockroaches in our building and even after calling and telling them they said they weren't cockroaches even though i'm 100% sure they were cockroaches. I was rearranging my room one day and to my surprise I find a termite tube on the wall. I moved some more stuff and there were probably 3 tubes in total. I called and they tried to gaslight me and tell me that it wasn't a termite tube. Pest control came and knocked them down but nothing has been done about the termite infestation either. We have also had birds in our vents. Their priorities are in the wrong place. They only want to renovate the exterior so they can scan more people into thinking these are nice apartments. We moved out this past weekend and we sent us a bill for almost $700 for what they are claiming to be damages and dirty stuff. I cleaned everything they are charging me for with exception to 2 things because they just slipped my mind. They are charging us $400 to replace the carpets when the reason the carpets are messed up is no fault of our own. Those carpets were disgusting when we moved in. They are charging us to replace drip pans that were also filthy when we moved in. Within the last few weeks a company came to replace some of the wood pillars on the balcony (the worker showed us the wood and it was completely rotted) and one of the workers from the company told us that the apartments were trying to cheap out and only replace certain parts that actually showed from the street (again, because they only care about $$) when all of it needs to be replaced because it's all rotting and falling apart. When we moved out almost all of our fixtures had fallen off the wall. The master bathroom handle, the second bathrooms handle, the towel racks, the toilet paper racks. My AC unit flooded the second rooms closet and they were so quick to get over here to fix it because it can cause damage to their property. Now that we moved out they are charging us to replace it. (as mentioned above) The summary of this is DO NOT even consider these apartments unless you want to be scammed out of hundreds of dollars. Not to mention rent is too high for such a shitty place. There is a reason these apartments have two and a half stars. LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS. They will try and suck you dry of all your money. Takes weeks to get anything fixed. If you can not get an answer to apply or see the community, take it as a sign they wont answer when you live here either!!! My apartment was still being worked on when I came to get my keys on a move in day THEY SCHEDULED. No one in the office even knew. No one in the office is ever on the same page. IF they end up answering, one of the many new staff members will give you an uneducated answer just to get you to stop calling. If Amber is not there, none of them know what is going. Amber will make you feel crazy because HER staff does not know policies. I am sure this review will end up unseen because somehow thats how their page looks but TWO AND A HALF STARS DOES NOT LIE! There was also an incident where kids with ski masks were trying to break into apartments. The only reason I became aware of this was from my local facebook page. The office had not one concern for the community. Not a single letter was sent out. The elderly women across the hall that has lived here for a few years fell a couple months back because their remodeling crew left the fire doors shut and it was pitch black coming out of our apartment. She fell into sticky carpet glue and could not get the office to take her seriously and had no interest in helping her with the matter until they got tired of hearing about it. I have lived in a lot of apartments complex, but this is by far the worst management I've ever dealt with. There is zero level of professionalism with the management team. I got a 2 bedroom apartment. The unit was not clean well prior to moving in. I had some centipedes in my bedroom and bathroom. The laundry area was fill with dirt. I had noise complaints from tenants above my unit. They were noisy, and smoke a lot of weed. Management did nothing to resolve the situation. Instead, I was told to handle the situation myself and call the cops on my neighbors. I personally wrote a letter to my neighbors and this eventually helped with the noise. In April, I had a water leak...I was out of my apartment on vacation for 10 days. I came home to a leakage in my 2nd bedroom. Mold was all over the carpet and the apartment smelled terribly. I could not sleep there. I emailed and called the landlord that evening, left a voicemail. It looked like it had been days since the leak happened. The apartment above mine, AC unit broke and the water leaked into my place. You would think the apartment complex would have seen to this being that if there is a leak up, most likely it affected downstairs. The next day, (Monday) I expected to have gotten a phone call. I got nothing. I ended up calling the office and asking how come noone have responded to my phonecalls/voicemails/ emails. The arrogant landlord Jim responded that they had a busy morning. I asked if there were going to be any accommodations since I was in a motel. Jim said no. He ordered a carpet cleaning with fans and told me, he would just clean the carpet and I should deal with it. I told him the place has mold. He said they didnt find anything. I contacted a lawyer to break the lease. It wasn't until I went on Google and wrote a review including pictures of the molded bedroom, ..then Jim called me and told me he will go ahead and tear up the carpet and replace it with a brand new carpet, fix the dry wall and repaint the bedroom. I did not get reimburse for the motel fee I incurred during that time. Jim and his staff were very rude to me. I ended up writing a letter to corporate office (which by the way, it was tricky to find their address). I got a $100 Visa giftcard with an explanation that they are not allowed to enter a tenant unit without permission. We all know that's a big lie, they could've notified me by email that I had a leak and entered the unit. Fast forward to July. I lost my job and needed to relocate home. I ended up being deployed by FEMA to start to a new position in TX. I notified Jim, and told him I needed out of my lease. He told me I have to pay 60 days notice and an additional 2 months of rent. I said, ok, I will pay the 60 days but nothing else. Why should I pay for 2 extra months that I am not in the apartment. I left the place in a much better condition than I met it. Jim sent me a bill with fake charges of how much I have to pay. He is determined to take me to a collection agency, eventhough I have paid my 60 days notice. Stay away from this apartment if you can. There are much better places to live in the Indianapolis area. read more

I would highly suggest looking elsewhere for an apartment complex if you care about the overall living experience including property management, maintenance, and complex amenities. I moved here in the fall of 2019 and thought the buildings looked older, but at least appeared somewhat maintained. After move in, I had some minor complaints, but nothing worth looking elsewhere as I primarily chose Keeneland Crest for what seemed cheaper than other complexes in the surrounding area. Moderately reduced rent quickly became evident why after living here a a few months. I lived here a total of 3 years and just moved out this August. In just 3 years, the complex went through FOUR(!!!) different property managers. The buildings were NEVER treated for routine maintenance including AC filters, common area light replacements, AC unit maintenance, etc. My AC unit went out every summer of living here. Go take a peek at the units on the side of the buildings and you will understand why. The property is not up-kept in the slightest. Pool area is fully outdated with broken concrete and fence posts, not to mention in the 3 summers I lived here, it was closed all of 2020 and almost all of 2021. In 2022, the pool was closed almost weekly for random reason after random reason. Don't be fooled by the "dog park"; all of the dog ramps are broken across the fenced in area. Dog poop EVERYWHERE in this area. Carports and garages have roofing caving in on several units, several structures are even bent or tilting. Grass is rarely cut which as a dog owner is a nightmare with the amount of tenants here that don't pick up after their dog waste. Parking is NOT monitored and they never tow cars. I had a carport unit which people stole my spot weekly because no one monitors this. Called management several times in which I either didn't get an answer from the office, or was told they would make a note. Tip-if you move here, don't pay for carport because they do not check tags anyway. Waste of a monthly payment. There is no cleaning in the common area hallways of the buildings. My building reeked of all kinds of smells, and there were bugs and dirt everywhere on every inch inside the hallway. These buildings are NOT monitored or maintained in the slightest. Living on bottom floor is horrible if you have loud neighbors above. The buildings are old and creek and you can hear every single footstep of every single room in the unit. Patios are a joke as when I moved in they at least had bug screens for covered patio. Now they have removed these and maintenance advised "They no longer install or replace these." As with most apartments, maintenance here is no better. Every "fix" is halfway done and you will most likely have to call back within the week to advise of you still having the same problem, and good luck to them actually answering your phone call. Upon my move out, I noticed my second bedroom had mold growing along the wall and ceiling; clearly an untreated water Leak in the unit above mine. To summarize, you can find better units nearly anywhere, especially in the Southport area. The cheaper prices are not worth it, it is comical to ask $1050-1150 for a 2 BR unit with buildings in these conditions, even with the nationwide rent inflation.Even while living in the upgraded unit I was in was not worth it at all. Having 4 property managers in less than 3 years tells you all you need to know. This complex is corporate owned, and they have clearly mishandled and abandoned this property. Truly not enough words to list how many issues this place has. It's a shame because the complex is in a great area and could really thrive with proper upkeep and management.Just take a single drive around the property to look at the buildings and garages and it will tell you everything you need to know about what to expect upon move in. read more

These are great apartments in a great area. The maintenance and office staff are always friendly and quick to respond to any issues. I have loved my time here and will always recommend it to others. A great place to call "home".The grounds and facilities are kept clean, sidewalks shoveled and salted during winter by friendly courteous workers. These have got to be the worst apartments. There is only ONE office lady that is willing to help, the others are rude! It took them SIX MONTHS to get us a new washer and dryer! PLUMING is HORRIBLE. Clearly nobody knows how to fix a sink because ours keeps leaking! They don't try to fix it completely they just do what ever is easiest! When the people above us had their washer overflow the water started to leak into OUR apartment and they just came in with kiltz and sprayed the ceiling.. didnt check for any electrical damage.. our stove has PAINT chips coming off.. who paints the stove anyways?!? Our fire alarms out in the hallway go off at random times and it takes FOREVER for someone to get them to turn it off! I love living here! My apartment comes with a full size washer and dryer and i love that it is close by so many stores and restaurants. It is nice that I can take my dog to the bark park and let her run and play. The staff is always so nice and take time out of their day to help you with anything. They genuinely care about their residents. Thos is my second year of living here and I plan to renew for another year! read more

Great pricing for the area. I love the new pool furniture, grill, and the car wash bay. The staff doesn't breath down your neck, but I appreciate their efforts in ensuring people keep their apartments neat overall (checking on broken blinds, sending notes for cigarette butts, and grills. I do wish they didn't require us to have carpets cleaned when they are replacing anyway, wish they had a soda machine or something at pool and rentable clubhouse. I also read a review about smoke smells and I would agree that people should not be able to smoke in their apartment... it really does travel through the halls and in apartments... I have smelled cigarette smoke a few times in my apartment. I also recommend 2bed 2bah if downstairs because the 2 bed 1 bath seems so tiny with out vaulted ceilings. read more

Everyone check your leases!! So to start up until a few months ago I had a positive experience with Keeneland Crest. They have really fell short of customer service experience during covid and caring for their residents. So, I had tested positive for Covid in Nov. Luckily I am able to work from home, but my fiance, however is required to report to his workplace. Due to me having covid he had to also leave work and be tested,providing a negitive test result, before he could return. Due to high demand of test it took almost 2 weeks for him to receive his results. During the time he was out of work he was not paid. I had contacted Terri before December rent was due and asked if we could sign a promise to pay, due to my fiance's check being short, and also was sure to include that we could not really afford late fees. Her response to me was "you know what, come in and sign a promise to pay and it will be fine." We paid according to our promise to pay arranged. So then Jan rent statements go out and I have a past due balance. Contact the leasing office and it was stated that this was for late fees that had accumulated from paying Dec rent late. When I confronted Terri about it she said she never told me we wouldn't have late fees, when in fact she did. I found that completely ridiculous, because if when I mentioned not being able to afford the late fees previously, she would have said, "you can sign a promise to pay, but you will still have the late fees." I would have made sure they were paid. At the time thinking our late fees could accrue every day they were left unpaid. Upset over th situation I pulled up the lease agreement we signed this year and no where on the form does it say they can charge an accurate of late fees. It only states that an 80.00 late fee can be assessed if rent is not paid on or before the 1st of the month. They have been charging me this accrual in error as I am sure they have many others. That is a breach of contract in itself. Additionally, after obtaining this info I looked to see when I had been charged the accural for other months after our new lease was signed. Back in Aug of 2020 we were charged accural of late fees after the 80.00 in the amount of 25.00. I attempted to contact Terri in regards to this. No response. Not only that but they also have on the resident portal that I paid my Jan rent late and that it has been accuring late fees since the 1st. My Jan rent was not paid late. I took a money order in and made sure Tonya had it on the 2nd due to the office being closed on the first. When I called she said they had not put rent on the resident portal yet due to them being out of the office for the holiday and they wanted to give time for people to pay and not get charged the late "fees" online they have that I paid my rent on the 5th, when I in fact paid it one the second, not late. I have called and left several voicemails for Terri and have had no returned call in two weeks. This is ridiculous. Everyone please check your leases. I paid rent here for 3 years and the only reason it was 3 years was because they would not release me out of my lease even though I got a new job out of state. In the beginning living there was great and we really enjoyed the dog park and the amenities. I think some time early 2017 they switched management and it became THE. WORST. they literally lost the key to my apartment 3 times!!!! They asked me to drop my key off at the main office 3 different times to make a copy of my key. This. Is. Insane. Their dog park and facilities were VERY POORLY managed and the garbage cans were cleaned out maybe once a year. Staff and management here never know what is going on and are occasionally straight up RUDE. I was out of town for several weeks and asked if I could have someone check on my packages and keep them in the office while I was gone (I have had my packages and mail stolen several times while I lived here. OH YA. AVOID THIS PLACE) and literally the woman on the phone said "hold on, let me check" and never asked my name, apt number or phone number and when I got back obviously no one had managed my packages at the office. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Literally live in any where else. I could go on and on about how awful this place is. read more

TERRIBLE experience. My fiancé and I moved in at the start of the pandemic so we had to do the walk-through ourselves. First off, we got the "luxury " apartment. As soon as we stepped in it REEKED of cigarettes. It took us months to get the smell out. Our dryer was broken even after they "fixed" it. It wasn't until 10 months that they finally gave us a new one, 2 months before we move out. Don't bother putting in a work request, they won't come for weeks. Our closet door broke the first week of living here, maintenance never fixed it. We tried to make the best out of it, but honestly this place is too much of a dump. Now that we're moving out, they're blaming us for everything that was already broken. They're even bribing tenants to give them a good review for gift cards. They simply pay the residents to write the good reviews. Maintenance team is rough- took 4 try's and an entire month to fix the oven. Go ahead and pay a professional cleaner to clean the apt upon moveout because they will charge $45.00 if a piece of dust is found on the stove. Alrighty- so this may be lengthy but if you're looking into these apartments I've got the details! So when we first moved in six months ago we thought this place was a great deal. It was also the last place that had any availability in our price range- 1,200$ monthly. So a week into it we realized that anyone in the hall way can be heard from your entire apartment. Unless you're in one room with the door closed! So there's a warning for that lol. Even if you have the Tv on and are doing dishes lol. Second complaint! The sink pipes broke and it leaked and molded under our sink we didn't know because we'd just moved in and instead of replacing it so it didn't have mold they legitimately just left it! Fixed the leak and left. Third complaint! There's absolutely no barrier between top floor and bottom. If you move a chair from your kitchen table at 2am because you work nights your downstairs neighbors will hate you because it sounds like someone broke in and is currently stealing your chairs or helping themselves to your things. Our third week there when the upstairs neighbors did laundry it shook our bedroom door so hard it kept waking our 3 year old in the smaller second bedroom. That happened for a week+! Almost immediately proceeding that when they flushed their toilet it made our pipes in OUR bathroom rattle so hard it was insane. Their "flooring" I say that because it's basically paper- had tiny cuts in it when we moved in and if yours does report it IMMEDIATELY because we thought nothing of it and left it be but little things will snag and tear the whole thing up and then you'll be like us owing for "repairs". On that there will also be white/grey paint ALL over the place from the painters and no you cannot scrub it off it'll always look dirty and there's nothing you can do! I've scrubbed and scrubbed and nothing came up. The washer and dryer broke in the six months we lived there as well! There's never enough parking so nearly every night in winter we had a long walk with a car full of groceries. That was one of the worst parts besides the EXTREME noise from upstairs. Overall- I would say I've lived in over eight different apartments varying from upscale to ghetto and this has to be the WORST place we've been to so far. We bought a house a year before we planned to just to move out of there. Oh and heads up if you move out early you WILL forfeit your ENTIRE DEPOSIT!!!! Anyways- just DONT move into there. You think you're getting a "good price" but believe me you'll regret it. We had a friend who was going to move into another apartment unit there and after a day of hanging out at ours he realized how bad the noise is and backed out immediately. I suggest you do the same! Maintenance is really good here from what I've seen I had them change out my toilet due to it leaking and maintenance was friendly he got the job done right the first time. I watched him fix it and we was talking about fishing most of the time. The people in the office is very nice too every time I walk in there so friendly. This is my first time living in a apartment and at first I was scared due to not knowing how good maintence was. But now I'm so glad I moved here and plan on staying here another year! read more

After reading the online reviews, my fiancé and I were iffy about inquiring about the apartments; however, we had a totally different experience. Since we first walked in to the office - Terri was nothing but nice! We even got a GREAT deal on a brand new remodeled unit with vaulted ceilings and a lake view! Throughout the application process - management was great in communicating what was needed in order to get moved-in. Most of the communication was through email and I always received a prompt and friendly response. We recently moved in and the unit looks amazing! If there is one thing that Keeneland Crest can improve on is the cleanliness and smell of the hallways in the building. read more

Complained to them that smokers were throwng cigarette butts in the mulch outside my apartment. They did nothing about it.......2 weeks later the apartment building next to mine burnt down. My roommate and I were initially attracted to Keeneland Crest because of its spacious and affordable floor plans. We also loved the location as it was within a reasonable drive to work for both of us. We fell in love with the upgraded Victorian floor plan, and we were told there was an availability in a model that had a lake view. Not to mention the in-unit washer/dryer, two walk-in closets, and a fire place! We were ecstatic! It was an easy decision for us to make, so we read the lease thoroughly since this wasn't our first "rodeo" with renting, and we signed right away. When we got our keys to the apartment, that's when things seemed to go downhill. As we walked into our apartment, we quickly realized that we did not have a lake view; we had a view to the parking lot. This wasn't a huge deal to us, but we also couldn't get past the potent marijuana odor that the previous leasers had left. We were two very understanding women in our mid-20s, so we lit some candles, accepted the fact that we weren't going to have a lake view, and moved on. During our first few months, many additional things arose. We had our first maintenance request - our dish washer was leaking water. It took them two months to completely fix the dish washer, and we had to put multiple reminders. We were told that they were "waiting on the parts to come in." Every time we did laundry, the dryer screeched like a high pitch scream. We are very go-with-the-flow people, but we couldn't even watch TV, sleep, or leave the balcony door open when we did laundry; it was that LOUD. We put in a request for that as well, and we understand it wasn't an emergency, but the request got ignored. I'd say for the entire year of our lease, we didn't really "live" in the apartment as much as we were planning. We both had significant others, so we spent a lot of time either at their places or at work. When we moved out, we made sure we did a thorough clean of our apartment. We had both separately rented in Indianapolis in years prior, so we knew the protocol for getting the full deposit back. We had never NOT gotten our full deposit back in the past. We scrubbed down our kitchen and bathrooms, we vacuumed and dusted our bedrooms, closets, and living room, and we made sure it looked as clean as it was as when we moved in. We even prepaid for professional carpet cleaning through the apartment complex for $65, as recommended in the lease. Shortly after we handed in our keys, we received our final account statement. We were shocked. On that statement, there were $306 worth of additional charges - which just so happened to be our entire $300 deposit. There were a couple of charges that we understood: $20 for broken blinds in one of the bedrooms and $36 to replace the drip pans in the stove. However, we got charged for almost everything they could: dirty kitchen sink ($5), dirty refrigerator ($45), dirty stove/oven ($45), dirty tub/shower in both bathrooms ($90), and, to top it all off, an ADDITIONAL $65 carpet fee. We called and inquired about the additional $65 fee, since we happily paid for the professional carpet cleaning, and they said that they chalked on an additional carpet fee due to "all of the extra scrubbing they had to do" on our carpet because it was "left in such horrible condition." We were both appalled. Again, we were barely even in that apartment during our entire lease. We are very clean and organized, and we barely had anyone over at our apartment. We deep cleaned our apartment frequently, because we both like to live in a clean environment. We ended up paying for the bill owed and chalked it up as a loss, but it's safe to say that I will never choose to go back to Keeneland Crest nor do I recommend this apartment complex to anyone. read more

The management team here is a bunch of lying, thieving assholes. These bastards took my deposit and told me that if I needed to back out before moving in that there wouldn't be a problem and that I could get my deposit back (minus the admin fees). However, when I told them I wouldn't actually be moving there, they decided that they were going to keep all the funds anyway. With management like that, I'm glad I'm not going to be living there. If they lie right away, they will definitely screw you over once you're settled in. I would highly advise looking elsewhere and not wasting your time or money with these unethical pieces of crap. read more

No call from Sabrina! Shocker! Not. But my daughter did receive notice that it will be yet another week before she gets a new washer & dryer and they were thankful for her patience. BS! She called and complained several times. I called for her as well. Our patience ran out a long time ago! They gave some lame excuse they ordered the appliances and received the wrong kind. Who does that?? Liars! They knocked $30 off rent for not having these appliances for 1 month. It's going on 3. It occurred to me...they pay water & sewer and if you don't have a washer, guess what??? X several tenants...hmm, they're ripping people off and getting away with it. I hate a slum lord! Do not move into these apartments and if you live here, don't let them get away with it. You can also contact the consumer protection division. This isn't the only problem. Apartments flood and no proper restoration (and they want you to clean up). Electrical issues. Outlets, lights don't work. Parking is horrible. Update: Sabrina did call me this morning in effort to resolve all issues. We'll see how that goes. She was very nice and understanding. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE. I cannot say that enough. Before moving here I heard maintenance and office staff was a problem by a former resident but I shook it off. BIG MISTAKE. I fell in love with the upgraded apartment and the laminate flooring. What good is a nice looking apartment when there is horrendous office staff and maintenance. Not once but TWICE has toilet water flooded our apartment. The first time we shook it off because it was small and did not cause any damage: however, the second time resulted in the entire apartment (bathroom, hallway, entry, kitchen, living room, bedroom closet) to be flooded with TOILET WATER. What did office manager Jim say he'd do for our $450+ material items that got soaked and needed to be thrown away you ask? NOTHING. Won't take money off rent, won't let us break our lease early (even by 2 weeks). Only sent someone over to shopvac the water over 2 hours after we found the mess and a cleaning crew the next day (but only after our complaining). Not to mention maintenance man Chris coming into my apartment and telling me that "We don't have any reports over this leak that you've supposed reported numerous times" WHEN I HAVE DOCUMENTED PROOF. Please don't spend your time or money on these overpriced apartments. 100% not worth it. read more

My boyfriend and I moved into Keeneland Crest going on two years ago. We are amicably going our separate ways, but we are both planning on getting separate apartments at Keeneland Crest. I have lived in apartments my entire adult life, and at the age of 47, I have found that the office staff here is by far the nicest, most accommodating and friendly group of people I have ever dealt with. If an issue does arise, they are polite and go out of their way to make it right. I love my apartment and look forward to loving my next one here. read more

I love my apartment, the community is clean and quiet, amenities are good, office staff pleasant and helpful, maintenance requests have been handled reasonably. I have enjoyed some of the community events throughout the year. I have been here 3 years and have no plan to move. read more

Older, but nice apartments. Maintenance is always quick to respond if we need them. Office staff is very helpful and pleasant. The rent is very reasonable. We have a great view of the pond and fountain from our patio. We spend a lot of time out there in the nicer weather. A very nice place to live. read more

As to all the other reviews I've seen about Keeneland I have to disagree. I've seen many complexes and never have seen one as upkept and nice as keeneland crest. The staff is ALWAYS very helpful and kind and always there when you need them. read more

Where to begin with these people? I moved into this pit of apathetic management and indifferent customer service less than a year ago. I'm a single guy in my twenties that works a ton with no kids or pets, which means I am very simple and low maintenance. I didn't mind that the units look-and feel- like they're made with both materials purchased at a flea market. I didn't mind the outdated appliances that half-work half the time. I overlooked the fact that things were dirty, dingy, and generally in a poor state of upkeep when I moved in. I even skipped griping about the fact that I was PROMISED (not in writing or anywhere on my lease) that the bathroom mirror would be mounted higher up (I'm 6'5") before move in; and that the "chandelier" (again, from a flea market) would be moved from it's obnoxiously low hanging position, possibly even taken out of the unit. None of that was done. Then again, the leasing agent that processed all my paperwork left the company shortly before of after I moved in. But where I put my size 14 foot down was with the "garage". Three sides of the carports we're covered with plywood and then a power garage door was added and POOF- they have something they think is worth $45 extra a month. I bit the bullet with that because I have some simple gym equipment that I figured I could use in there. So I move the equipment in and find out there are gaps along the ground (parking lot asphalt that is crumbling and falling apart) where dirt, pests, debris, and WATER leak into the "garage". I notify maintenance about this immediately, since my expensive equipment was getting dirty, rusty, and not to mention that water will freeze and turn to ice. The manager tells met hey weren't going to do anything more than dumping rocks on the outside and spraying foam in a paltry attempt to seal the gap. Yea, didn't work. They then brought out a "special contractor" to take a look at the situation. He tells them that he would have to "completely tear down the structure" and rebuild it to fix the issue. So that's not an option. Randomly, I get a notification stating that- according to the lease- I can only store my personal vehicle in the garage. NOTHING else. Nothing. I am then told that I should have no expectation of the "garage" being weather proof, or even weather resistant. I then sent the same email I had sent before when I cited the ongoing oxidation of my equipment. Only this time, I simply switched the words "exercise equipment" with the word "vehicle". What their response boiled down to was that, if there was ice in my garage, I was to notify maintenance and as a courtesy they would come put down some salt. AS A COURTESY? What a joke. The regional manager decides to come "inspect" the premises on a random Friday evening. One- I don't think she chose a Friday evening after 6 pm to come inspect some disgruntled resident's garage. Two- That unannounced visit was a very clear violation of Indiana State Code. The 2014 publication states that a landlord shall not abuse their right of entry. Also needs to give a tenant reasonable written or oral notice of their intent to enter the dwelling unit, and only at reasonable times. As the letter of the lease reads, this includes hanging any picture frames, mirrors, even applying a weekly bleach cloth to the underbelly of my sinks to remove the omnipresent mold is a violation of the lease! I was immediately evicted from the garage, and was also notified that they would be exercising their option to NOT renew my lease at the end of July. No biggie, I wasn't going to renew anyhow. All I am asking of them now, is to enforce this lease equally across the board. I drive through the complex everyday and see people with more junk in their garage than I ever had. Some folks park their vehicles in there, sure; but many garages have everything from boxes to appliances to marijuana plants in there! Of course, management says they can't do anything about issues they're unaware of. Typical... The separate lease for the garage states: No hazardous materials may be stored. Only your vehicle can be stored. My vehicle has oil, gasoline, antifreeze, and a litany of other corrosive and toxic chemicals within it. Do I bleed my brake lines and empty my tank each time I get home and park? Keeneland Crest: Enforce the ridiculous lease conditions equally to all tenants; which means evicting them for the smallest violations and not allowing anyone foolish enough to move in to hang any pictures on the walls. read more

Keeneland Crest Apartments is the absolute worst complex I have ever lived in which is saying something considering I have lived in some truly horrid apartments before. I would not recommend to anyone to live here. Even paying extra for the more premium apartments I have found myself regretting my decision to ever come and live here. Their maintenance crew is slow to respond and rarely fixes the issue (for instance our A/C line has repeatedly began leaking despite them claiming to have fixed it every time they come out). Their buildings are filthy and never cleaned in the interior hallways. The worst part is the management team. I have never met such a rude and disrespectful group of people. They like to put on a nice facade and greet you with smiles, but the moment anything goes wrong they will be the first ones to wash their hands of any blame. For instance, water from an upstairs flooded toilet flowed into my apartment for hours. I returned home to find an apartment covered in water in every single room due to how prolonged the flooding was. The apartment smelled like feces, but it took them over two hours to have the water extracted. They were not even going to clean, it's "not standard policy," until I complained. Even then - the apartment still has not been cleaned three days later. This means we were expected to sleep in an apartment that smelled like feces. We were expected to use a toilet that was directly underneath a fan that continued to drip contaminated water for hours (it was still dripping when we left over three hours later). When I spoke to the manager about this he got visibly irritated and repeated that they were under no obligation to even clean, let alone make amends for the disgusting experience we went through or the $450 in damages purely to belongings that occurred. He looked me in the eyes and said he felt the apartment was safe to stay in overnight, even if feces contaminated water was dripping on our heads if we used the bathroom. He repeatedly blamed me for this - saying I expected too much from them. I guess expecting a feces free apartment is too much of a ridiculous expectation in his eyes. Do not move here, under any circumstances. It is the worst run apartment complex I have ever lived at. Thankfully I did not sign our lease renewal before this happened as he made it very clear they make no exceptions in any circumstance. Stay far away. P.S. In case you're wondering I paid my rent on time the entire duration I lived here without any issue. This is how they treat an 'ideal resident'. read more

I've looked around at many different apartments, but haven't received such high quality treatment like keeneland crest has given. For example, while the westminster apartments didn't return my calls or show a sense of urgency to take me on a tour of their apartments, Keeneland crest was both attentive and welcoming. Terri Kuberski took the time to answer all of my questions and helped show me which style of apartment I would enjoy the most. The Keeneland Crest team stayed in contact with me before my move in date, so I was prepared and ready to go. As if I hadn't been pampered enough, when I moved in there was a welcoming basket filled with an assortment of treats and helpful tools to get me settled in. Jim, Paris, and Haylee even had a card written out sending me their congratulations and best of wishes. While moving in, I've had many people stop and welcome me into the building. It's been a warm and inviting community. I did have one malfunction in the bathroom where the nob for the shower got stuck and wouldn't operate. I let the front office know and on the same day two mechanics, Neil and Donavon, came over to fix and replace the problem. I can't go on enough about how great everything's been so far. I have lived at Keeneland Crest for a year. I have a one bedroom with a washer and dryer and a fireplace. The Staff has always been very friendly and very helpful. When I had an issue with my washer and dryer the maintenance attempted to fix it each time that I called. When realizing that it couldn't be fixed they replaced it with a new one. I am very pleased with the prompt service and very happy with my apartment. I would definitely recommend these apartments. read more

Not to mention the fact that when your lease ends you may have to pay a prorated amount until the following Monday, because their leases end on Mondays!! The office staff is incompetent, but well versed in feeding you lies and tricking you into things to take more of your money. I can't even figure out how those people sleep at night knowing they are ripping people off! They obviously have no conscience!!!
