She tells me to come back the next day, ...so I did... she tells me it's going to be $10 and then shows me what she's done. GET THIS: She went across the street to the fabric shop (literally across the street) and bought the off the shelf ones you can buy at any fabric store (for about $3 for a set of 2, depending on the store and the brand) which come attached to a safety pin type thing that you can move from dress to dress as needed.. but then you have a metal thing rubbing your shoulders and there's the risk of the safety pin coming open and sticking you... which is why I prefer to pay to have them permanently installed ... and she slid them off the cardboard and slipped the safety pin things into my dress's shoulders ... and charged me about $7 for the effort. (I THINK she was also trying to convince me that SHE had made these things herself, which is BOGUS, seriously, exact item sold across the street) So... First... I went across the street to verify to myself that this woman had the audacity to do what I thought she'd done... and she had (peddling the item as her own when it's not) ... then I marched back to her shop and demanded she do what I had paid for in the first place, which was to SEW into the dress the straps I had paid for... (and I made sure to make the point I was NOT going to pay her a penny more). Anyway... she did.. it took a few more days, and even then, when picking the dress up the 2nd time, she tried to convince me that all her other customers were happy to pay her $10 for an item they could have picked up for themselves from the store ACROSS THE STREET FROM HER, for $2.75 That said, the final work was done well. She had opened up the internal seem, embedded the straps from the purchased thing into the seam fairly securely and sewed it back up so that not only can you not see the alteration, but so that I don't think it'll come loose. Had she done this to start off with I'd have given her 5 stars, but the attempt at a con job lost her 3 stars

I just got back from this place. It's a half a mile from my apartment. By the time the van warms…read moreup, and I go there and come back, it costs a dollar in gas. The washing machines are $3.00 for a small load. They take loonies and quarters. The dryers are large enough to fit a few small dogs or a child you don't like. They cost 25 cents per 5 minutes. So that's $3.00 for an hour. There was no food or booze like at the Laundry Cafe in London. No big screen TVs with news & sports playing. It was just like being back in the sixties or seventies. The smell of B.O. and boredom was everywhere. There was no Wash & Fold service available. At least they could have put in a pool table. I don't think I'll go back unless the laundry room in my building gets a lot dirtier and more expensive than it is now. ;-)

They sold bounce sheets and detergent from a vending machine and had a change machine. The washer/dryer accepts quarters. clean and well lit. Parking in the front is quite limited only 6 spots or so, there is probably more at the back ?
