Let me stress here, I knew zip, zero, nada about guitars, but I wanted to learn how to play. So.... When I first found Elite Academy I was on the fence about whether to learn to play the guitar on my own by watching YouTube videos, or go for in-person lessons. (which I was quite fearful of doing due to covid and living with an extremely high-risk person) I'd decided to start out with just a couple of in-person lessons, to at least get a semi-proper start with a bit of feedback, and then mainly stick with YouTube. I NOW realize how completely naive that idea was, assuming you truly want to learn that is! Anyway, I talked to Damian, who is the director of Elite Academy, and after discussing my concerns with in-person instruction he told me online lessons would likely be the best fit for me personally. (I'm sure he quickly realized I was over-the-top paranoid about in-person lessons. Lol) I thought I'd give online lessons a try, even though I honestly assumed "online lessons" wouldn't be as beneficial as in-person lessons. WRONG! What occurred next changed EVERYTHING!! We set up a time for an online lesson. Prior to my 1st lesson Damian sent me a few of his beginner videos to watch as well as other info/charts to look over. The information was presented in a crystal clear fashion, it was easy to understand and retain, and it became instantly clear to me that a TREMENDOUS amount of time and thought had been put into his lesson plans, and they were structured in a way that was absolutely intentional in helping a beginner learn in the easiest and fastest way possible. After the first lesson I knew without a doubt I'd accidentally hit the jackpot in finding Damian! I'm now 2 months in with weekly online lessons and I can't believe what I've learned in such a short time. I'm beyond impressed with Damian as an instructor! If you are searching for a guitar instructor, all I can say is give Damian a call and take a lesson or two. His fees are extremely reasonable and it's worth a try. If you aren't happy then move on, but I'm 100% sure after a lesson or two you won't be going anywhere! (because then you'll know what I already found out... JACKPOT!! Lol)

My son had music therapy with Ashley, and my husband and I took the sip and strum class. They truly cared about my son, and helped him develop a love for music. Although he was in "therapy," he never knew it. He developed new skills, new friendships and new strategies to help with his anxiety. As for the sip and strum class, it was so much fun. She can speak, but she struggles with articulating her words and pronunciation. Since she started music therapy with them ,she is able to speak in full sentences when asking for what she wants. Brooke not only gets therapy with them , she also gets lessons for piano, saxophone , and ukulele. She is progressing in all. She can play music by ear on the piano. She is currently learning to read music. It takes a lot of patience to teach my daughter. Our therapist is super awesome. The owners are awesome people. They are professional and care about their clients. They assign teacher and or therapist that is a good fit with your child. I have taken Ukulele lessons with them at one of their sip and strum classes for adults. It was a blast. Music is medicine and good for the soul. I highly recommend them.

I received this class as a gift for my birthday, following great feedback from majority of…read morestudents. My partner and I had lots of fun, and delicious food. However I am someone who cooks almost every day for every meal and I was hoping that we will learn some new cooking techniques, new skills, find new spices and marinades from Greece. That was not the case, this class is not hands on and it is held in a hallway. You would receive recipe sheet with a pen and botte of water. Only "hands on" experience is folding a Spanakopita triangle, and that is all baked while rest of the class resumes. There is 29-31 people in the class which is a decent amount, and everyone had a chance to make couple of spanakopitas. I am not sure if was a fan of eating food that other people made, and i wasn't sure about the cleanliness aspect of it since i found a hair in one of them. Overall, we had fun, but we might've been overqualified for this type of learning. If you plan on going just adjust your expectations and you will have fun! Lady that is teaching a class is friendly.
