They were very unprofessional throughout. Everything takes a lot longer than it should (if you even get a reply from an e-mail to the estate agent) and they also charge £30 just for giving a reference to the next landlord. However, the major problem is as follows: When we were moving out of the property, we had a standard inspection. I was in the property during the inspection and we were told that the property was in great condition and there were no issues so I left and moved away. I then received an invoice for £120 for a light clean of the property. I questioned the light clean and was told that it is the landlord's decision as to how much money he wants to take (which defeats the whole idea of a deposit by the way). I had an issue with this so I spoke to the estate agent at Sanderson Young who told me that he agreed it was unfair but there is nothing he can do. The money should not have been taken from the deposit in the first place and it definitely did not need a clean of £120 considering it was a 2 bedroom flat that had already been cleaned thoroughly. They must have been the most expensive cleaning company in Newcastle. Overall, this company is used to making a huge amount of money from selling high value houses. They will attempt to make as much money as they can from their rentals as well with little regard for the renter. P.S. This is the first complaint I have ever had to make in my life. Since then the business has quite intelligently become a seperate building neighbouring the old partnership shops. The firm also has connections with the local Ashington branch, with that branch being the headquarters of the company. The shop front has a glass window where there are details of houses available to rent or buy in the local area. All manner of houses (price wise) are represented. Insde the shop there is a desk at the back of a spacy room where staff members can chat with you about your requirements. The staff are very helpful but will often be a bit casual with you. I have found that it is sometimes difficult to get an appointment immediately or to contact the manager directly though. A competent firm, one of a few estate agents in Bedlington. Compared to the others you get a less personal and professional experience from the staff.

Shop nicely laid out and a great website for company to view all houses available through them. From my experience a better service then competition in the town. Houses same to be price well by this company both not undervalued but especially not overvalued to look like getting discount if put in lower offer as per some others. Rook Matthews Sayer now have offices all over the north east and their website offers a search for all of their locations.

If I viewed a house and wanted a further viewing or further info they were always there to ask. The staff were friendly and helpful and put themselves out to help me. They were also good at negotiating prices and other such things for me. If I was selling my house I would go through these estate agents as they seemed very good with calling up viewers and have a general professional attitude.

And for good reasons! First of all the location could not have been better: A couple of blocks up from the central station and being in the heart of Newcastle for restaurants and nightlife. It is just a few minutes walk up to Chinatown or to Eldon Square and wherever else you need to go. Being so handy to the central station we spent many a weekend on short trips to Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as to Durham. Oh, the apartments themselves were just fantastic. We had never rented apartments before, and even though these are presented as part of an aparthotel they are huge. And we opted for space: Two bedroom & two full bathrooms (one is en suite too). There is also a very good sized living room with open dining area and a modern kitchen with crockery and cutlery and pots and pans available. You also get a fridge and hob with oven. We didn't prepare more than breakfasts. But it was great to have all of the equipment available anyway. The bedrooms are not too large really but they are comfortable and have all that one needs including wardrobes and clock radios. The bathrooms were great, modern, and spacious. Housekeeping was very good too. It was lots better than the Manchester location. As for the reception staff (Annette et al) I miss them to this day. They helped organize our bookings, called taxis for us, and got to know us on a personal level always cheerful and welcoming each time we returned. Even when I decided to make a sudden visit Annette helped me to get my booking quickly. Lovely staff.
