They have facilities at the campgrounds like bathrooms and a shower. The campsites are close to the lake and a short ride to the boat launch ramp. I loved the amount of greenery and tree cover it provided. Wildlife was everywhere, deer in camp, squirrels, chipmunks, woodpeckers, and other birds. I highly suggest checking this place out for a weekend of fun.

The Link River Trail is located on a river that gave its name to the city of Klamath Falls, which…read morewas originally called Linkville in 1867 before its renaming in 1893. This Trail runs 1.5 miles through the Link River Canyon, a scenic gorge located in the heart of Klamath Falls. The trail (actually a service road for former and current power facilities on the river) is closed to vehicle traffic. The entire hiking surface is gravel, with a few spurs down to the river through the dirt and bush. Shade is limited, it's mostly flat, and would be great for a jog or walking the dog. Gayle, Jim, Erin, and I took it as a pleasant mid-afternoon ramble. I would love to know more about the industrial history of this area, as the link stream might have fed a plant, with the abandoned sluice once used as a water return to the main river?

To be fair, this was one of the busiest weekends I've ever seen there. As a business owner myself, I understand that on extremely busy days things don't always go as planned, and because of that I was willing to overlook quite a bit. We stayed in Chipmunk Condo Cabin #3. The cabin had a musty smell and a very small bathroom. The beach area was great for families, and my daughter absolutely loved it. The biggest issue was the food and customer service. Around 2 PM on our first day, we stopped to get pizza for lunch while waiting for our cabin and found out they were already sold out. Since there aren't many nearby dining options, I stopped by the lodge around 6:45 PM to specifically ask when they stopped seating guests. The two younger employees seemed annoyed and unsure but eventually told me the last seating would be at 7:45 PM. I explained that I was traveling with my wife, a 2-year-old, and a 3-month-old, and that driving an hour to Ashland or Klamath Falls for dinner wasn't ideal. We hurried back to the cabin, got ready, and returned around 7:35 PM, only to be immediately told they couldn't seat us because they were too busy and had a large party. My question was simple: Why wasn't I told that when I specifically came in earlier to ask? Had they explained the situation, I would have gladly come sooner. After asking to speak with a manager, who never actually came out, we were suddenly able to be seated. Once inside, there were several empty tables available, which made the whole situation even more confusing. Our server seemed annoyed from the moment we sat down. We decided to order our food to go instead of dining in, and even that seemed to bother him. When I politely provided feedback about the miscommunication, his response was essentially, "Well, we got you seated, didn't we?" That completely missed the point. The issue wasn't whether we eventually got a table. The issue was being given incorrect information and then nearly being turned away despite arriving before the stated seating cutoff. The next morning, we discovered mice had chewed through snacks we had left on the kitchen counter overnight. There are no cabinets available to store food. When I reported it, the manager apologized and explained that even the cabin she lives in on-site has mice because they're in the forest. While that explanation makes sense, it didn't make my wife feel any better with a 3-month-old baby sleeping in the cabin. The second day, pizza was available for lunch and was actually very good. The older gentleman working there was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, when we returned around 6 PM for dinner, pizza was sold out again. My wife then tried ordering dinner to go from the lodge and was given a completely different takeout menu that excluded many of the better dinner options, including items we had ordered to go the night before. When she asked if she could order from the regular dinner menu, she was told absolutely not. The inconsistency made no sense. At that point, we'd had enough. Between the restaurant issues, the mice, and the overall lack of customer service, we decided to cut our trip short and leave a day early. The lake and beach are beautiful and have the potential to make this a great family destination. Unfortunately, poor communication, inconsistent service, restaurant issues, and mice in the cabins overshadowed what could have been a wonderful stay. Mice may be part of being in the woods, but regular preventative pest control inside the cabins would go a long way toward making guests feel more comfortable.

Bill Scholtes Sportsman Park was the place for the 2021 UPSPA Oregon Open Sectionals. I was excited…read moreto visit a new range for our competition and this range did not disappoint. Situated among forest tress, it provides a unique backdrop as we blast away paper targets. The high altitude did present a different dimension of challenge as we compete for a podium spot. Nevertheless, we had a great time here at this range and even surprised us with a 30 minute rogue hail / thunderstorm intermission. The staff of Jefferson State Shooting Association did a good job of hosting the '21 Sectionals. If there would be any critique with this range, at most I would say the the distance needed to travel from one set of bays to the other. Otherwise, we all had a great time here at the Bill Scholtes Sportsman Park and had a change to discover the Klamath Falls area to boot.

The part our kids had the most fun with were with the two different track rides - one was a full chair that you could lock yourself into, the other a simple rod with a circular black seat. One complaint is that there isn't much shade and the equipment got pretty hot. Luckily, the sprinklers came on at 3 PM and lasted for 20 minutes. It sprayed part of the playground and it was kind of like a water park for a bit.

Choice between two playgrounds, or visit both…read more The majority of the playground visitors, like us, visited the wooden fenced playground. Within the fenced area is 4 fenced spaces. First, the smallest fenced space, is the entrance where rules are posted just aside musical instruments: metallophone, bongos, and tongue drum. The second separately enclosed fence space is a Liberty Swing, successfully promoting inclusivity, is for Wheelchair and Capsule Use. Thirdly, the second to largest fenced space is the playground area for children ages 2-5. Adult supervision required. Some features include a small dual slide, playground rocking horses, a bridge, balance stepping mushrooms, regular swings, and swings. Specifically, a molded bucket seat swing and a kanga dual (or toddler & caregiver) swing. Fourth and last, the largest space, with the majority of the play constructs and vast length, has many levels and activities at every turn. The main tower structure has three slides: an outer classic slide, an outer wave slide, and an inner tunnel twister slide (out-of-order awaiting parts and well blocked from usage during our visit). Branching from the tower is an curved pathway to bridges, a monkey bar fireman pole, climbing rope with mini foot platforms, wood-like stepping stumps, balancing beams, squared cargo net climb, balance steps at varying heights with vertical-centered beams, a rocket to explore outer space, varied rock climbing, and a ship to captain. The ship's bow has a working steering wheel, while a swaying surprise awaits those who visit the stern of the ship. Unconnected from the tower are a 4-person seesaw/teeter totter with centered balance, an inclusive carousel with 4 physical pull-up-lock-and-unlock doors, icositetragon (24-gon) spider web playground climber, a balancing surfboard, a sit-down spinner, the dual zip-line features a bucket seat and disc seat side by side, swings, and a tire swing. The latter is my nostalgic childhood playground favorite and I definitely spun around in it. One of my littles even found two frogs (photographed) on one of the play structures. We planned on spending a maximum of 20, maybe 30, minutes at the park, but we concluded our visit after an hour and a half. Enjoyed it so much, unsure we will find another playground to measure up.

The young girl stated, my boss Terry said you booked and might be coming in a little upset. I said, if he knew I was coming, why not try to call me? Then she says she would try to refund me my money but the continence fee wasn't refundable. I about had a cow. I called the boss Terry, who treated me like it was my fault and that this tournament had been booked for months. I thought this dude sucks at defusing a situation so I continued to share my displeasure only to be hung up on. What's wrong with people? Never will I golf there again
