I brought up that I would like to have a baby and I feel that this location was my reign of luck. Shortly after, I became pregnant. I saw many doctors and each one did not fall short of wonderful. The nurses were also absolutely amazing. Up to the day of having my baby everything was just wonderful. When it was time to be induced, I was met with wonderful ladies in labor and maternity. Toward the end of my visit, I was so sad to go because it felt like it became home for me and the nurses felt as though I had known them for so long. My daughter Alessandra had a rough first week and came back in to be put in the NICU for Jaundice treatment. The entire time, the nurses were very welcoming and supportive. My daughter as I write this is now 3 weeks old and doing absolutely amazing. She excels every single day and is growing beautiful and healthy. I couldn't thank the whole team enough. It actually makes me look forward to hopefully having another child in the future because I definitely will be coming here if I still live in the area! Thank you to the team at NYPH! She was in no condition to leave but they wanted her out. I argued with them that she was in no condition to leave and all they would say is go get your car and pull it up to the door so we can get your mother inside it. They didn't care about her at all, they wanted her out of the hospital.

The Nurse Practitioner refused to give me antibiotics, insisting my issue was viral. She told me to go home and use a Neti Pot and a humidifier. I did exactly that and only got worse. Went in again tonight. Another Nurse Practitioner. She wanted to know why I didn't follow up with my GP. My GP is an hour from me and I cannot drive due to the dizziness of this infection. She scolded me about this as if she were a school nurse (I am a 50-year-old woman) and resisted the idea of giving me antibiotics. This one told me to use a decongestant to dry myself up, contradicting the previous instructions to use a humidifier and a Neti pot. I explained that I have been living on OTC decongestants and antihistamines, as well as prescription pain killers, which don't help. The entire left side of my face was in severe pain, my teeth hurt as if someone was hammering nails into my jaw. The green snot and blood has only increased -- and she wants to send me home without antibiotics? I emphasized the pain I was in and she said: "I'll give them to you...this time." as if I were some drug addict looking for a fix. Are antibiotics the new recreational drug of choice? What gives? Why are these women so against giving proper treatment for what is so clearly an infection? One shouldn't have to beg for antibiotics!

Was vomiting and going cold while waiting. Only the security guard cared - she was nice enough to bring a blanket and a vomit bag. After 2-1/2 hours of waiting and several people being seen who came in after us and zero indication of when she would be seen, we left (much to her distress but for the better). Went to Phelps. was seen immediately we were talking to the doctor within 20 minutes of arrival and she was admitted for surgery. Never ever going back to HVH. Have had good surgical and. Roth experience there in the past but this ER experience was horrible. Hopefully the care inside the ED is better than the waiting experience.

There is only one doctor I want to critique at the practice:…read more DR STEVEN ROCKER is a total ASSHOLE. This comment is based on not just one but several visits to see him. I felt sorry for him because he is old and extremely grumpy. I thought I would be kind and connect with him - in other words I was very generous to him, thinking maybe others don't smile at him enough. I was stupid. His bedside manner is off the charts hideous. He completely ignores eye contact, doesn't smile or say hello in a friendly manner. He is all business and stares for the most part at his laptop. There are real indications about this guy that worrying. So I was - mistakenly- always kind to him. But one day he let loose and dumped on me in the most unprofessional way. He assumed I expected to see him without an a pointment. I did not at all - there was a miscommunication with him and his nurse who ok'd me to speak to him. The anger that burst from him and the accusatory way he spoke was stunning. I spoke to two other physicians about what happened and both said the confrontational manner he used was utterly inappropriate. One said he should not be practicing at all. I agree. He shouldn't be seeing people with such a hideously insensitive manner. He wasn't able or willing to listen to what happened or that his nurse had told me to go into the consultation room. The only reason you should ever book an appointment with this guy is if you are desperate

And the guy who wrote that review is correct about him. Rocker hates looking at patients - even that is too much to give and he is so cranky he should quit work. Nobody needs a doctor who has what is even worse than no bedside manner at all and only a nasty one. We quit seeing him because we found someone who was respectful and pleasant.
