As a therapist myself, I was in search of a professional to help me see the things I couldn't see for myself. A professional to ask the "appropriate" questions to surface the real issues that I had longed to release. I also desired to work with someone balanced - meaning not just strictly scientific in their approach but spiritual as well. I was only able to see Aileen for a brief 2 months or so, but as my intention was set to "be well", and Aileen understanding the short duration we would have together she provided the necessary work for me to release attachments to the past, fears and also helped me to find my voice, step up and step out into the world to fulfill my purpose in life. I appreciate Aileen for the quality of work she provided for me and the variety of techniques she used. It wasn't always just sitting on the couch and talking but there was interactive work involved. I appreciate having something to take home and work on from one session to the next and Aileen offered a variety of practices, meditations, visualizations and other suggestions that I could pick and choose from... or not, if I so chose. I searched and found Westlake Village Family Services. I explained to Dr Kaufman that I completed a certain amount of classes and didn't want to lose the credit. From the get go he was extremely helpful, explained the classes are in the evenings and conducted by his wife Rhonda, forwarded me all the paperwork so I can continue my DV classes that same week. I really looked forward to Rhonda's classes , I appreciated the fact that she took time to ask each of us how our week has been, asked us about any updates with our cases that we wanted to share, and all the ladies in the class were so welcoming. It really felt good to have a safe place to talk about all the unfortunate things that were going on, when I couldn't discuss them with my friends or family. Each class she did exercises with us that helped me gained a lot of insight. I was also court ordered to do individual therapy and asked Dr Kaufman if he had any availability which luckily he did. Dr Kaufman is truly one of a kind because he is invested in his clients success. For almost two years he has helped me tremendously with my DCFS case always listened, guided me, helped me stay positive, and truly wanted me get my son back. Even when my case was getting complicated he reminded how far I came to getting my son back. He is extremely knowledgeable and helps you see things from different perspectives. I can't recommend Dr Kaufman and Rhonda enough to anyone who needs to do DV classes or needs individual therapy. Both of them truly care about each and every persons success.
