I met up with a friend here during a break from a women's conference. I noticed there was a big crowd for lunch and our waiter did the best he could under the circumstances. The prices are affordable and they have plenty of options. They have a outdoor patio with a handful of places to sit. I ordered their chicken flautas which came with queso, sour cream and lettuce. The flautas were flavorful and filling. The cheesecake chimi was unique and I enjoyed the crunchiness of the exterior and the creamy inside. I picked this place for dinner to celebrate my birthday. The menu online was intriguing so decided to check it out. We were underwhelmed. The food was not great. I neglected to get a picture of my husband's and sons' plates. The service was horrible. Our server did not smile the entire time. He was going through the motions. Went for lunch, ordered beer, wings and onion rings. Onion rings are absolutely outstanding, obviously made on site, large, not frozen, battered and fried. Wings were so-so, fried (I think), buffalo sauce was ok. While the wings were fried, if there was any breading, it was non-existent, resulting in sloppy wet sauce on the wings, taste was good. Our server Chris was super nice and had great recommendations for food & drinks. We were seated immediately (6pm Saturday night). The ambiance was very chill. They have a full bar and many options on menu. We had the brisket chips, the waffle fries with pablano cheddar and bacon, southwestern burger and a grilled chicken Cesar. We also ordered the adult cherry limeade and strawberry limeade - both were excellent. There was a football game playing on the TV's. We had a fabulous time. We will be back! read more

We left the Allen Americans game early because they were losing so we came into Kelly's to catch the rest of the Cowboys game so the place was packed while everyone was cheering and enjoying the game. We weren't really hungry but grabbed a couple of drinks and I spotted the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake on the menu and that was a wrap. Hubby kept asking me what it was and I couldn't quite figure out the words to describe it, only that it is absolutely dreamy. Ooey gooey butter cake is always served slightly warm, drizzled in caramel and best with ice cream which is exactly how they serve it at Kelly's. This cake is caramely-buttery perfection, I suppose a good way to imagine the flavor being most like butterscotch. This cake is seems magical in that the exterior is always lightly crispy and the center is almost custard like but not quite as creamy, kind of like a slightly underdone brownie. I'm not sure if I could even find all the right words to describe this yumminess but you just have to try it, trust me, just try it and you'll be in love!! read more

The food needs much improvement. The hamburger sliders were terrible. Bun was hard and you could tell the meat had been sitting around waiting on a customer. The chicken quesadilla must have been sitting next to the hamburger wondering when it would be picked up. I must say that the service was pretty good. The young lady was very friendly. The decor is pretty typical for this type of restaurant. I really wanted to like this restaurant but I just can't recommend it. Maybe we just picked a bad day but money is too valuable to try again anytime soon. read more

Looking for a nice place to meet with friends and/ or coworkers after a long day? Put Kelly's on your list of new places to try. There is a roomy covered patio at the entrance, and ample, comfortable seating inside where you will find a mildly upscale atmosphere that is very welcoming. As soon as we were settled, our server was at our table taking drink requests which were delivered to our table in quick order even though the place was packed. We then proceeded to take a hike through the appetizer section of the menu and were not disappointed! I highly recommend the Stuffed Brisket and Queso Jelapenos, as well as the Fried Mushrooms, and the Spinach- Artichoke Dip. We were so full after the overflowing appetizers that we did not get to the main menu, but we will update on our next visit. The only thing we did not care for was having to walk through a bit of cigarette smoke as we traversed the covered patio to get inside, but it was nice to know there was accommodation for everyone. Have been here many times. Good locally run place. I actually remember when they were in old downtown Plano. Great beers on tap menu. Beer is always cold and something for everyone. I like their meatloaf dish alot and have had a few times. This visit we had burgers with fries. The beef was a bit dry. The ingredients were all done well, complete with toasted bun. The fries though were small and overcooked. Some folks may like them this way, but I was not a fan. In past visits I don't recall the fries being like this. Always great service and helpful. Kelly's is great for meeting up before/after an Allen Americans game as you can easily walk over. The pre-game atmosphere is something to see and will definitely turn a frown upside down! Our waiter was friendly and helpful! I ordered chicken tenders with sweet potato fries and green beans. The chicken tenders and green beans were good but my sweet potato fries a bit overcooked. I ate here twice when I was attending a multi-day event at the event center. I thought it was great. The brisket chips (appetizer) were really good. The Grown Up Grilled Cheese was really good. I got it with pulled pork. Next time I will try it with brisket. The hand cut fries were really great. This is my friend's go-to restaurant before the Americans game. The atmosphere is very upbeat and you go here to get pumped up before the game. At 6pm people sing the fight song so it's pretty fun. Food wise they arent like exceptional but I think they're all pretty good. My favorite is their skirt steak quesadilla. The meat is very tender and every ingredient is well-balanced. In town on business and visited here twice now! Tex Mex tacos last night with chili releno was unreal. Tonight - Riley my waitress recommended the Cobb Salad and it was one of the best ever! I've eaten there 3 times. All three times, the food has been pretty bland at best. The last time I ate at Kelly's, I had a burger. The meat was not fresh. It was dry and was shaped like it came out of a bag from a freezer. The service/ambiance was good but the food is below average. read more

Was there Sunday night for drinks and noticed the manager from what bar tenders said , was doing dishes behind bar because they were so busy. Fantastic experience at this McKinney location; especially the staff! All were so nice & accommodating! TY for having 2 tables open for those with HC status. I wear oxygen & have a tough time standing due to rheumatoid arthritis and it was so nice to come in a very crowded restaurant and be able to sit down. The manager on duty came right over to see how she could help me & went over the menu. The food was fresh, hot and delicious! Tonight was the first time we've ever been to this restaurant. We are traveling and decided to stop there and we're so glad we did. I would give the service a hands-down five 5! Our waiter, Mason, was great! He was very attentive and pleasant. Also, our hostesses, both in arrival and departure, were very personable and made us feel very welcome. My husband had a meatloaf sandwich and said he would give it a five 5. He liked the whole combination and said it had a good flavor profile. I had the brisket quesadillas, and I wasn't that crazy about them. Actually, they were great in size, very well cooked, I just wasn't crazy about the flavor profile. I also had a dinner salad and it was so fresh and I loved the garlic croutons on it, plus the ranch dressing was really good. I would actually give the dinner salad a five 5 and was glad I got it. I would have liked if they would've had a different salsa option. I am a salsa lover, but did not really like that one at all, but since I ordered quesadillas, I tried to eat what was provided salsa-wise. Went to Kelly's for the first time yesterday, delicious omelette! I built a custom chorizo, onion, cheddar, and avocado with potatoes. The omelette was excellent, large and tasty. The potatoes were overdone, but that could be because I came late for breakfast. It didn't include toast either, which surprised me. One thing that I did not like was the orange juice: not only was it from concentrate, but it was not good even as a concentrate. I recommend that Henry's changes whoever they use for that OJ. Other than that, service was spectacular, ambience was appropriate for a tavern, patio accepts dogs, all in all a thumbs up! read more

I've been coming to Kelly's for over 2 years now, enjoying their Fried Green Beans w/jalapeño ranch. Unfortunately, they've now become fried onions with a small side of fried green beans. For $10.99, I expect what I order which is Fried Green Beans. I LOVE the fried green beans and onions are not even mentioned so why are the plates loaded with onions and crumbs of green beans. I'm so disappointed. We come here before all the Allen American games but now continue to be disappointed with this portion. Please go back to more green beans or change your menu to say Fried Onions with a side of fried green beans OR better yet, drop your price. I didn't mind paying $11 for actual fried green beans. read more

This was my second time eating here and it was just as good as the first. I got the grilled salmon with broccoli and mashed potatoes and it was all super delicious! The salmon was cooked well and flavored perfectly and the mashed potatoes were creamy and paired perfectly with the gravy. We went for lunch and it wasn't to busy or loud.
