I don't know if that is the case or not but, it is the best Dampfnudel I have tasted so far. They speak little or no English here and my limited German skills came quite handy. The service is very typical Bavarian and the menu is all in German. If on doubt look around and order what the others are having here "Dampfnudel" :-) Basically Dampfnudel is a Bavarian Brioche with a thick and creamy vanilla custard and its stodgy, saucy and buttery goodness on a plate. The locals have it as a main course for lunch and its simply delicious here. I also tried their Bratwurst with Sauerkraut which was also divine. The service is very friendly and the prices are extremely reasonable. Lunch for two with drinks and coffee was €20 all up for what was a memorable meal :-)) I would come here daily if I could. I might regret it but know that I will die happy ;-))

You must make reservations because this was a Michelin Star restaurant and STILL has the standards of one. I love this town and go here often in the Summer. This hidden gem is located in the Bishops Biergarten. The romantic and quite setting within the trees and vines is an awesome place to have a mug of bier and some great food. Try the dumplings along with the fore mentioned schnitzel and kraut. Won't be let down! Wish I could have eaten here more than once! Menus are available in English.
