Three years ago, my regular cleaners told me that they could no longer work with me (moving out of town). I interviewed a few companies, but Angie really impressed me because I could tell she was organized and committed to providing a top notch service. At the same time, however, I had a friend who cleaned homes and was in need of a job, so I alternated between her and Angie's crew. Angie always could help me out in a pinch and her cleaners are super fast but very thorough (the benefit of having a team of cleaners rather than one person of course). I used her services sporadically throughout the past three years and she always came through for me, even tried her best when she was completely booked. This is crucial when you are relying on income from a STR and need last minute reservations when they come through. When my friend gave her notice this past spring, I actually felt like it was going to be ok, because I had a company that had proven themselves to be dependable and loyal to their customers. There was a deposit required which is understandable, but it was less than half of what we ended up paying. Plus Madeleine uses Venmo. I did my research of course. Reviews on Yelp each about a month apart all 5 star and I'm sending money through Venmo, I had to be sure. Receive an actual message from Madeleine, she got it. She's has her own supplies and will see me 2:30 on Saturday. Saturday comes, it starts raining, movers are booked 12:30 -2:30. Tight schedule. I get a text, Madeleine conforming we're still on with the rain. Movers come, leave right at 2:30, Madeleine was there before that, told my wife how much to pay and boom. I didn't even need to be there. I get a text saying she's done, with a photo of where our key is. Got home and this place was rockin. I wish my wife would have taken a before photo. I know for sure with a dog, baby, and the stress of buying a house the place was full of dust, hair, nails, spills we said we'd clean later, and lord knows what else. It looked so good. Anyone with a dog knows hair is everywhere. I looked all along the baseboards and didn't see anything, they were no longer dark gray. Baseboards. Madeleine services our new home area, and we're definitely checking if a normal routine clean is something we can fit in our budget. She cleans Commercial and Residential and if you couldn't tell by the review I'm recommending her for any cleaning you need done. Three days after the cleaning crew had come, I noticed on my credit card statement that there was an additional charge for $110. When I called Juanita to ask about the charge, she claimed that the techs had called my wife and let her know that they needed more time. This was completely false (my wife has no record of a call), and when I emailed Juanita to let her know that my wife never received a call, she changed her story and claimed that she had informed me the day before that it would take additional time to clean the apartment. Again, this was untrue. I will not be using Dial-A-Maid in the future based on their lack of transparency and communication. It felt like the company took advantage of me, which is a shame because they really did a very thorough and great job cleaning the apartment. But it's simply not worth the headache and I am sure there are companies out there who not only do a great job cleaning but also have more reasonable prices and do not take advantage of their customers.
