The park has bathrooms, picnic tables under a large pavilion, a play ground, and a sandy beach. There's even an outdoor shower for cleaning off the sand when you're done. On an August weekday around noon, there were multiple families at the park to lounge and swim. The bridge provides ample shade for sitting on the beach or swimming in the water. The water was clear and looked clean. Some kids had tied a rope swing to the bridge and were swing jumping into the water - so fun! Yuma is HOT and frankly quite ugly, without much to offer the passerby outside of food, fuel, and the prison (also worth a stop!!). Gateway Park is an exception - a beautiful spot and a great break point for the weary traveler. Bring swimsuits - you won't just want to dip your feet in!

There's many things available; everything from 2 racetracks, activity fields, a dog park, a playground and the like. The smaller track has six lanes plus it's track is made for have less impact on the feet. The fields are watered and kept up. The lasers weren't on during the day, but the small train was in great condition and we were able to board the cabin. Located in the northeast corner of the Hilton Garden Inn property, Pivot Point sits above Gateway Park. The parking lot says it is only for the Hilton Garden Inn Convention Center so we probably broke some trespassing law. (Thankfully, the Territorial Prison no longer takes inmates.) It's a quick 5 minute visit, but it's also free.

The host family paid our admission, and we paid for food. The food was the usual fair food and decently priced and tasteful. The water park? Lots of options; such as a lazy river and, of course, the tube rides! The lifeguards were on their game; helpful, friendly, and watchful. There was a section for toddlers, and a section everyone could enjoy. Yes, a section for the wet bar as well. They had shaded, seated areas for rent, but we grabbed two free table areas upon arrival. There was a nice mix of music and people, and everyone seemed to get along. Overall; great time. A little bit on the pricey side, but you get your money's worth, especially as the heat rises.
