I also don't like the thought of dogs being allowed into the building as I can imagine small animals on sale can get quite scared of them. Items are quite hard to find upon your first visit, but actually, when you know your way around, items are all placed in logical sections! I could spend forever watching the fish, rabbits, hamsters and other pets they have on offer!

They have a large variety of dog and cat foods, as well as plenty of supplies for smaller animals. There is also a good range of bedding, grooming accessories and toys for your furry friends. They have quite a few small pets for sale too, such as rabbits and hamsters, which are fun to watch for a while. There is also a large birdcage at the back which usually contains several rather noisy birds! At the back of the store is a small veterinary surgery, where I have taken my cats to have injections and for checkups. The vets are very efficient and friendly, and the prices for injections etc. are pretty good compared with other vets.

I like also how the staff are knowledgeable and ask about your tank and current fish to check they're well suited too unlike other pet stores that sell fish regardless just for a profit. In terms of prices they fare on average with other pet supply outlets I use, with their litter being a fraction more expensive. The choice is good but badly presented. There are the usual well known brands, often no different in price than at supermarkets, but they carry a number oif cheaper products who I have never heard of. The staff are nice and friendly. For basic supplies and if I'm in the area it is a convenient store to use but it does not carry stock or offer prices which make me go out of my way to visit.

This is despite the fact that the Neon Tetra (a small, easy to keep fish) is a shoaling species that needs to be kept in groups of at least 6! To say this place has a comprehensive selection of products would be an understatement. The first half of the store is dominated by all things aquatic - plants, fish, food, aquarium tanks, outdoor ponds and large water tanks at the back, housing a wide variety of fish. As you move through the shop, there are hamster cages, pet food, bedding, books, magazines and of course animals to buy, like hamsters etc. It is such a large place, with such an impressive variety, if you can't get the item you need here, I would be surprised. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, and on the whole the prices are competitive, apart from the niche products stocked in smaller quantities like hamster cages, that could double for 'Tracey Island' - they seem a little on the expensive side. The laws of supply and demand I suppose.
