They do bbq packs in the summer, usually including a bottle of wine. They also have a special Christmas selection. The shop is quite small and i5's always busy but you can phone in and ask them to make your order up then just go in to collect it. The shop is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly.

Sausage, bacon and burgers are good to excellent, the lorne sausage being the best I've found. Steaks are excellent and steak pies are good, but the giant bridies of yesteryear are no more. Lamb tends to be pricey but again good quality. The prepared dishes are a bit more variable, not always hitting the mark. The schnitzel, which used to be great, is now to be avoided. The specials at Xmas and New Year are usually top notch, with the ham and bacon joints being my favourites. Can be very busy, especially at the festive season and on Saturdays. Not the biggest of shops, so it is sometimes hard to get a look at the stuff on display. Being a proper butcher, you can have all sorts of things that aren't on display if you ask and are willing to wait. Service is good. Parking isn't difficult, although it may be a problem if you have mobility problems or are just too lazy to cross the street.

Absolutely love this place... A fantastic family run business with great staff and superb produce…read more I first paid a visit to this butchers before Christmas to order a duck for Christmas lunch. If the length of queue to pick up your Christmas order is anything to go by then I knew I was on to a winner. I queued for over an hour on Dec 23, while heavily pregnant, to pick up my order. I can honestly say it was worth it, as Christmas lunch was fantastic! I have paid several visits to this butchers since then and I can reassure that although this is a busy little place the queues aren't normally as long as at Christmas! I have sampled several of their award-winning sausages, and can report that their pork & leek sausages are delicious! They also have a great range of prepared meals ready to go in the oven. From these I love their chicken fillets in a white wine sauce. If you like your steaks visit on a Monday and if you buy two steaks you get a free sauce to go with your steak. I have bought their rib-eye steaks which are deliciously beefy and tender. If Muirhead is out of your reach, then do check out their website as they have an online ordering and delivery service. If you can though, it is worth a visit. Although it is a little small, the shop is pristine and the produce is well presented. There are often daily or weekly special offers also and a Gold Card loyalty scheme to reward regular customers.

If…read moreyou have nothing nice to say in your review, then don't review at all (slightly paraphrased). These guys I cannot help but give five stars. I also have some trouble understanding it. Look at that map in the corner. You don't see a lot around there do you? Just a road with a train station and a ferry port. Wemyss Bay is not a big place. So how the heck did they end up with such a brilliant butchers and deli? I mean, this is like an old style butchers - no pre-packed crap here. Freshly made sausages and mince. I picked up a haggis made in the shop and some bacon. Bloody brilliant. Unlike an oild style butchers, you have a selection of great wines and cheeses next door, a small array of vegetables and it is bright and well kept. The old butcher shops could be really dark and sometimes a little smelly. This breaks that mold and yet keeps the tradition of guys who know meat and how to cut and prepare it - on site. So for those of you who are unsure or too young to know. Meat used to be bought by asking a guy for something and then he would take a a large slab of animal and produce the cuts you wanted from it. If you needed it de-boned, they could do it. He would also probably ask the thickness you wanted before he started. This is very different from picking up a packet of cellophane wrapped pink meat-esque substance and putting it in your cart. How do these folks thrive? From people like me driving to Wemyss bay to get stunning meats - nuff said.

If the man you've grown to be's more Morrison than Morrissey then you should shop here…read more This Morrison is as cheap as any other Morrison, which is basically, much cheaper than most British Supermarkets. Definitely a great place to get foods and the like. However the reason I went here, and the reason it gets 4 stars, is because they've done a really great thing. First-Hand Experience: After checking out the new Falkirk stadium, I came here to see what became of the old one, which is now a supermarket. I bought a few drinks here including an Irn Bru. The checkout girl was really nice (and very Scottish). This was in Fall (Autumn) of 2014. It's like any other Morrison's. A nice one, at that. I really appreciate what Morrison's have done here, though. After buying the land of the Falkirk Stadium, Brockville Park, and turning it into this store, they decided to keep the turnstile from the old stadium as a memorial. Which is really lovely for those who loved the club and for football fans in general. So well done to them, for giving fans an added reason to make the pilgrimage here.
