We were in Dallas on a road trip from MA in June. Walk into an edgy yet homey restaurant with a sexy bar. The hostess Peggy seated us nearly immediately with no reservations (recommended). You are served ginormous pop overs right away. We tried the peartini and "FOO"tini (cucumber), both delicious. Our waiter Brandan never let them get warm as he kept swapping the glasses out with chilled ones. The French onion soup was amazing. The grilled Chicken (sundried tomato, basil pesto, artichoke, mushroom, walnuts & goat cheese) dish was so flavorful our taste buds were dancing. Was looking for an unpretentious steakhouse while on a work trip and Yelp came up with Kenny's so I thought I'd try it out. I. Was. Blown. Away. Our server, Jorge was amazing and treated our table like the most important in the room. I'd mentioned I'd never been there and budgeted for a French onion soup & steak sandwich and he made sure I got a sample of the cheese balls and the pork crostini as well. And the bread. Yum. I walked out of there wanting to try all of Kenny's restaurants... and I will certainly do so when I head back to the area. One of the most amazing food adventures of my life. Truly. Steakhouse Review #7: Kenny's Woodfire Grill. Made a reservation for 7:30 on. Friday and waited about 10 minutes. The place was busy, fairly dark inside, and tightly sat. We were given a table in the side bar room by the food runner. If you know anything about me, you know Kenny's Italian is my favorite restaurant in the DFW area. I love it. So, we were excited to try this Kenny restaurant as the expectations were high. Spoiler alert: not so much. As always, the service at Kenny's was impeccable and the best we've had thus far. Our server was so friendly, attentive, and just so damn nice. After being told it was our first time there, she brought us some tenderloin crostinis and crispy fried Brie (with raspberry chipotle sauce) on the house. The Brie recipe was so damn good it made me cry. Yup. The crostinis were decent. The bread brought beforehand was fun but too eggy. We ordered a filet, the beef short rib, potato cakes, mac & cheese, brussels, and asparagus. Everything was just okay. The filet was good and tender but saucy and the short rib was okay. Both had unique flavors and good but not that special. The potato cakes were basic and neither of us liked the smoky mac with chunks of ham in it. The asparagus were hard and some of the worst we've had. The brussels were unmemorable. It seemed like everything had a smoke hint to it and it wasn't our vibe (should have known with woodfire in the title). But those Brie balls and service...almost made it all worth it. Overall, we most likely wouldn't return and will just stick with Kenny's Italian which is true perfection. Our bill was around $110 and we tipped $60 for a total of $170. Had been hearing about Kenny's for a while, but hadn't been until one night recently when I went out to celebrate a moment with a friend. It definitely gives old school steakhouse vibes, but when I tell you the food was so good as was the service! Definitely need to check Kenny's out. I had a salmon fish which was so tasty and flavorful, salmon was cooked just right. My friend had the French onion soup which was delicious and a steak. Even when we weren't sure about which appetizers we wanted she allowed us to split appetizers- a small portion where we got to try the apps. We tried the tenderloin crostini which was delicious. Along with coconut shrimp. The shrimp were ginormous. And the sauces were so good. Our fav was the mango marmalade. The best bread I have ever had in my life!!!! You know how sometimes they bring a roll to the table for the table to share? Not here boyeeeee Each person gets their own roll. I don't even know how to explain this heavenly bread. It truly is the best beard I have ever had before. I would come eat here again JUST FOR THE BREAD. The crab cake is out of this world. Huge jumbo clumps. Also comes with a variety of sauces. The wasabi one was our favorite. You must order the crab cake! My husband got the ribeye rare and said it was the best steak he has had, and he eats a ton of steak. Another wonderful trip to Kenny's Woodfire Grill. Am beyond was hopping as usual, busy place a little bit loud but fun. My girlfriends and I all had the espresso martini with a shot of Baileys inside great recommendation by a server from the last time we were there. The wait time even after making a reservation was over 25 minutes, which was not what you expect. There were many folks in the small waiting area near the bar. Service was prompt once we were seated. We popped in around 8PM on a Sunday for drinks. Within minutes we understood why our Addison friends rave about this place. We lucked out with four corner seats in the massive bar area, which was buzzing in the best way. It was clear this is a true neighborhood staple: bartenders greeting guests by name, regulars chatting across the bar, and an easy, welcoming energy that instantly reminded me of my Midwestern roots. I met Jim, a longtime regular whose photo from 20 years ago hangs proudly on the wall. His love for the place was adorable and spoke volumes. Mara took great care of us, crafting outstanding martinis and adding thoughtful touches that really elevated the experience. For our dirty martinis, we got to customize our olives, choosing between regular, blue cheese stuffed, jalapeño stuffed, or any combination of the three (yes, we mixed and matched). It's a small detail, but one that made the drinks feel personal and fun. Even better, halfway through our martinis, they surprised us by swapping in freshly chilled glasses to keep everything perfectly cold. At first, I thought my glass was being cleared, but it was actually an upgrade. They proudly serve Grey Goose on tap (a fun flex, even if we didn't see the taps in action), and every drink we had was fantastic. Between the standout service, quality cocktails, and genuinely friendly crowd, this spot is more than just a bar -- it's a community. I look forward to returning and trying the food next time. My Overall Rating - 3 1/2 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Kenny's has an epic bar and is always packed with people with good vibes. The dining area isn't too big, but they make the most of the space. It's also dark inside, this is this ia really good spot for date night. 1 Star. Service - All Kenny's are known for great service, and Kenny's Wood Fire Grill is no different. Even though we had a large party, our server was able to handle all requests with a smile and good energy. I've never had bad service at any Kenny's. 1 Star. Food - While it's been 9 years since my last review, the menu hasn't changed. Why when it works so well? For this visit, I went with the Ribeye with butter and demi glace (normally on the NY Strip). It was cooked perfectly, and the butter kept the steak moist. Next time I'll go without the demi glace, as it added some saltiness that isn't needed. For the side, I went with the Adult Mac & Cheese. I remembered this from my last visit, and it was just as good. The cheese sauce was so creamy and the smoked gouda and ham gave it nice depth. If they offered this as a full meal I would order it. All in all, the meal was quality, and the value is good in today's economy. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Probably in another 9 years. While Kenny's is good, it's not great and nothing about it screams new. It plays it safe, which is fine because it's been doing an awesome job for the last decade. Ending 2025 with my 2025th Review. How cool are numbers, right? Some of the best places are found in a strip mall and are completely hidden unless you know... and apparently, a lot of people know as it was pretty crowded on a weekday. They have a ton of appetizers to choose from from and if you can't decide, you can actually split appetizers which is awesome. The tenderloin crostini was one I'd order again and again. The woodgrilled oysters were delicious too. I opted for the half-pound crab cake appetizer as my meal and oh my god it was so good. Thanks to Amelia for the recommendation on this thing. She knows what's up at this place. And the old fashioned was a good one as well. Nice pairing if you ask me. Let's not forget about the bread!!! They bring out this ramekin that looks like one of those gun-powder snakes went nuts in the oven and grew into a crusty, steamy start to the meal. It was so fresh and delicious and even though it didn't need butter, it needed butter!!! America!!! This was within walking distance of my hotel and it did not disappoint at all! Kenny's is always a reliable experience! This was no exception. I recommend reservations regardless of the time. We had reservations at 4:30 for a large group and weren't seated until 5. My husband and I started out with a glass of Pinot Noir for me and Cab for him. Our companions had various cocktails. Partway through they brought them new chilled glasses. Very thoughtful! Next came our rolls. These rolls are so good and a signature item. Very soft on the inside. You have to be careful not to fill up on bread! I decided to try something different instead of the regular steak. I had the chicken and it was so good. It was cooked perfectly, and almost tasted like a steak! All the flavors blended together to create a great profile. For a side dish, I chose the potato cakes and they were tasty. My husband had the steak sandwich and fries. Kennys wood fired grill is a dimly lit, upscale yet casual restaurant that serves a variety of American cuisine. There was no wait for a seat at 5:30 pm but was still surprisingly busy for a Monday. By 6:30 there was a small like to be seated. I ordered a rye old fashioned and the grilled salmon with a side of creamed spinach. All were served promptly and delicious! Food prices are upper middle... but be careful ordering mixed drinks. Although delicious, My angels envy rye old fashioned cost $30!....had I known that, I would not have ordered it. This place is such a gem. We used to live in Dallas, and we moved away. This was one of our favorite spots. The ambiance is amazing. The lighting. The staff. Everything. It gets packed! If you don't get in early, you will be waiting. The bar is full of regulars and the staff is always top notch. Although we normally try to eat at the bar, this time we sat in the dining area. My only complaint is that they pack you in like sardines! We had the famous crab cake. It is THE BEST I have ever had. And I have had them all over the country, The popover bread is so unique and so good. They brought one for each of us. I think one for the table would have been enough. We also got the wedge, the ahi, the steak sandwich and the rockfish. The rockfish was covered in rich sauce. If that's all you're eating, the it's great. But it was too much after the apps. Kenny's Wood Fired Grill was delish!! We had an early booking for a work dinner with a party of 8 this week. Service was top notch! By the time we left the entire restaurant was a buzz. Great dining room, we had a perfect cozy table. I started with an angels envy old fashioned. The table had a mix of other cocktails and wine. I was so surprised when their popovers came out. Such a classy option (: My Nana and I used to always dine at Neiman Marcus so popovers have a special place in our hearts. I own a popover pan and make them at home. Kenny's were not paired with strawberry butter, but still phenomenal. If I made one single tweak, I'd make strawberry butter for them. I recommend any establishment that starts with a popover, screams distinguished in my eyes. I ordered the Chilean sea bass with their potato cakes as my side and both were superb. I had a glass of Quilt cab (I'm probably Joe Wagners biggest fan, or at least my palate has been much of my adult life). Your CA girl loves a CA cab! Loved that they had this bottle. The price point on it is always so friendly and it's just as scrumptious as a Caymus bottle. It's unpretentious and divine. I had a brownie sundae for dessert, and tried a bite of their bread pudding. Yummm! Everything was tasty, from drinks to mains and finishing with desserts. I doubt highly this is a restaurant I would have ever given a chance on my own, but now I'd highly recommend it. Lastly, who am I if I don't mention the cube in my cocktail. I'm a stickler about my ice if I'm not drinking bourbon neat. Loved Kenny's cocktail ice. They also stopped by and refreshed everyone's beverage that was in a martini glass, with a frozen/chilled glass. I mean!!! Jaw on the floor. I swear on my life, I am not easily impressed but I acknowledge that I create the illusion that I am ;) it's all the little things, that aren't little things that made an impression on me. If only they had match books! My other fav dining experience (: I may just create my own and start giving them out. We had a fantastic time! If you're looking for a solid meal, you'll find it here. I suppose since moving to TX I can leave out parking options because most every restaurant in town just has a lot that you park your own car in for free. Eating dinner here was something out of a fever dream. When we first arrived for our reservation the place was absolutely packed and we had to wait around 20 minutes to be seated. We witnessed someone slip a $100 bill in order to be seated before anyone else, and while we did get seated before him, the fact that any of this happened was a bit absurd. The interior is nice so the wait wasn't awful, but we're talking more about the principle of it than anything. When we were finally seated it was at a high top table away from the main dining area, far from what we expected, especially for a birthday dinner. What came next was probably the most absurd service we've seen in a while. Our service was erratic. We had our waitress running around openly complaining about how frazzled she was and how busy they were. Again, not an issue had it not happened maybe 10 times. We had what must've been the manager running bread, drinks, etc to us and then have our waitress show up 5 minutes later with the exact same things and then say "what a night". Thank God the manager was on his A game constantly refilling drinks and running things out. The service just felt disjointed and bizarre. The waitress also made a rude comment when once of us wanted plain mac and cheese saying it was what they get for kids. On top of that the food itself was not good. The bread was the best part of the meal. It was fluffy and crunchy butter just melting into it, we could've eaten ten more of it. We all ordered the same steak, a medium ribeye. The steaks were inconsistent, some coming in medium well, others at medium rare to medium. These weren't any different than steaks you could get at Texas Roadhouse. The mushrooms they came with also had this very chewy, rubberlike texture. By the end of our meal we were pretty dissatisfied. The best part of our meal was the manager who was working hard to get our area covered and making sure we were well taken care of. You could tell he was trying hard and cared about the direction things were going. Ultimately, the nail in the coffin was the free birthday dessert being a stale chocolate cupcake. We're sure there's better days here and maybe your experience will be different, but they turned what was supposed to be a fun birthday dinner into an anxiety riddled dinner that left us with a sour taste. read more

I finally had a chance to get to try this Kenny's. I've had their Italian and burger brands but not this one. It lived up to the hype! I thorough enjoyed everything I had. From the bread, the mains and cocktails it was a very delightful meal. To top it all off, the service was efficient and on point. Even my friend's steak that wasn't cooked to his liking was replaced right away, no question asked. Ambiance is very lively on top of the great company. This please was amazing! Stopped in to have dinner with a friend for her birthday and from the moment we walked into the door until we left the service was phenomenal. One of my favorite things about this place was the napping with inspirational sayings. If you don't know, the details matter and I will remember this place for that so good job marketing. Now the drinks and the food were !! We dug in and forget to take pictures first so that's all I had. It was plated very nice. Also, when we got halfway through our drinks the bartender switched them out for cold glass to keep the drinks cool.
